Mermaids do exist. They exist not only in the ocean, but also rivers and lakes. I know this since I was almost drowned by one in the river of my late father's home town. I was also told that when you hear them sing, their voices are ethereal, too beautiful to be of this world, and can often be heard in the deepest hours of the night. But when you hear them, you should never go into the water because you will drown; it's only when someone drowns that you can go into the water. But NEVER mock or offend them because they are VERY VENGEFUL.
The more I think about mermaids, the more i begin to realise that they aren't real simply because of their design. 1. If you've noticed, no ocean dwelling mammal has hair. Hair presents drag in the water. So no mermaid would have it. 2. Human flesh simply isnt designed to live in water. We have very little fat reserves to keep us warm in the below freezing temperatures. 3. Our necks are designed to hold our heads forward facing, so constant swimming with our necks bent up for years would strain alot of muscles and make it impossible to keep swimming like that. 4. We would need to have eyes at the side of our head. Forward facing eyes and binocular vision is great on land. But its a MASSIVE disadvantage in water. Predators can literally strike from any direction in the open ocean. It will be extremely hard to fend of predators or hunt for food without being able to see them. 5. If there where merfolk, it would make more sence that they lived more like seals. Since they are semi aquatic they would spend alot of time in shallow waters and baithing on the shores and on rocks. If they did that though, we would be able to spot them and they would long be known to us. The fact that no one has seen one and, being half human, they are very ill equipped for a life in the open sea, its seems pretty clear they arent real.
Thank you for bringing light to this mesmerising topic🙏
You are so welcome ❤️

We know less about the ocean than we do about Mars.
