Jaiden spending four whole minutes describing her potential failure in great detail, and then punctuating with a three second, "but I didn't, I got it, it's fine," before moving on is honestly too real. I spend so much energy losing my mind about failures that I haven't even experienced, hardly paying any attention or giving myself any credit for my actual, real accomplishments. And I feel like maybe a lot of people do the same thing.

That reminds me off my taekwondo challenge. I’m decent at taekwondo but that day I was tired and sleepy. So I went to the dojo and they were giving out trophies. But they prob knew if they were only 3 people everyone would get a trophy. Most teams had like 6-7 people but my team only had 4. Only the 4th person didn’t show so during the contest I did the worst but still got a trophy lol. My parents were so proud of me, so I waited until the next week until I told them. To be fair the other people were like 5 years older than me.

I would like to announce that the most recent "All Gold Medals" world record for Cooking Mama 2 was achieved only TWO MONTHS AGO
I know lots of people have mixed feelings on Jaiden’s video game content, but I am just amazed and proud of how far she’s come. From first doing Cooking Mama 2 all gold blind, to speedrunning Rhythm Heaven Fever and Mario Kaizo is amazing. Massive props to her

True facts this video inspired me to peek and see if one of my childhood faves had any speedruns. As a kiddo I was STUPID into the game Dark Cloud ( Dark Chronicle outside the US ) and I found it has a speed running page... With exactly ONE runner who has made a dozen different catagories to keep running the game over and over in increasingly thorough ways.
So now I'm playing Dark Cloud again. Time to beat in the first catagory is 60 hours, so Imma do a Test playthrough and save at multiple points to see where I can streamline grinding and minimize dependence on RNG, figure out which weapons are best for each dungeon, ect.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if SmallAnt actually tries a world record at Cooking Mama 2 just to take over Jaiden.

that speedrun has had its latest upload to the leaderboard 3 month ago (so almost 2 years after this video)
It's now an actual thing with 9 entries and the time has been improved from 6h 46m 30s to an astounding 4h 00m 10s
I checked, the "Burn a Pie" category of Cooking Mama 2 is by far the most popular Speedrun category for this game. There are over 200 entries into it. Jaiden, you didn't even run this category, bit you still created it, you legend
Hey you are wrong actually. Check the speed running archive. She is number 8. All submissions are approximately a year ago. So others might of ran it after her. She is in the All Gold Medals category. That was an incorrecr statement. However I understand your other points

I love these gaming stories. This and Amazing Island gotta be my two fave vids. The Nuzlocks are amazing but I love it when Jaiden says 'Screw it, SOMETHING NEW!'
The first time I encountered Cooking Mama, I had never heard of her before and I watched a playthrough... Of the Thanksgving PETA version that painted Mama as an evil monster that enjoys the pain of innocent animals. Lol
To this day "All Gold Medals" is still one of the least run categories for Cooking Mama 2. Even if she lost the record, she still deserves mad respect in my book for running the hardest category of a game for one of her first runs.
Edit: 12:31 3 years later, and no one on the leaderboard has managed to get half her time.

First is the perfect run and second is ruin the food
On her first attempt, Jaiden takes eight hours and here we are a year later with the current record being two and a half hours. It's amazing how fast the speedrun community can optimize runs.
2.5 hours is for any% category. Jaiden's category (all golds) is currently at 4 hours (set 10 days after Jaiden's run, haha). Still great though.

Wow, cooking is awesome. Cooking turns out to be not just the ability to do something correctly and on time, it is something from which you can enjoy, and emotions.
Don't worry jaiden, i even practiced when i was about to speedrunning Doors Roblox. And i even ended up finished for 20 minutes over. I even keep getting fails like: getting caught by rush, Getting caught by ambush, grabbed by seek's arms, gets burned till roast, and even getting killed by figure in library room door 50. I'm also forgot to activate global hotkeys on livesplit

If you think about it, Jaiden's Speedrun could be really unique: "Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends, Blind,All Gold"

just checked, her speedrun is technically unique even without the blind part as its the only DS one listed (Others are emulated or New3DS)
Technically blind isn't a speedrun category
It's impossible to prove if you're going in blind so it can't be a category.
But her run is still unique because she actually played on a DS.
She also played CM2 before so it wasn't blind completely.

speaking of the burning the pie, i remember doing something similar too like in cooking mama 3 i loved to overflow the pickled radish because it just felt so satisfying and lifting the pot super high to let the pasta fly out the pot cause it was funny and again satisfying

If I were to attempt a speedrun for any game or series, it would probably be the "Ratchet & Clank" games. Mostly for 2 reasons:
1. They're my favorite games.
2. I know the games inside and out.
Any of the "Ratchet & Clank" games from "Ratchet & Clank (2002)" to "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart", I could potentially speedrun. (I've played through these games so many times, I practically have them memorized.)

Depends on whether you are playing via PC or mobile. I've found mobile is harder to do card swipe while those who play on PC have no problem at all

Speed runners can take her world record but they can’t take her record of being the first person to ever attempt and succeed in this speedrun ... btw I can totally agree on Jaiden saying cooking mama is awesome,I literally have cooking mama cook of on the Wii (maybe you could try to speed run that one in the future cause there a lot of different recipies) :)
