My best explanation for the whole Type-Type/Emerald Multi-Attack thing is that type interactions are stored as 4-bit values, ie. 0-15. Having a x16 interaction loops the value back in on itself to x0, BUT since it isn't considered a type immunity and the minimum amount of damage dealt needs to be 1, it just deals 1 damage.

Type interactions are not 4-bit values. The type chart is stored as an array of unsigned 8-bit values. Honestly surprised there wasn’t a “Dad” type. Like it would fit Pokémon like slaking and snorlax. Obviously it would get moves like “Mow the lawn” “Wake up slap” “I’m not mad, just disappointed.” And “life advice”
I'm one of the rare pokémon fans that actually likes Delphox and Meowscarada, and I always have to preface that with "because the concept and their implied personalities are really cool, I'm not a furry". It gets annoying. Like yeah, you guys are allowed to hate it or be perverts about them but don't accuse me of anything. I do like that they're more human, because they reflect very human jobs- witch/magical girl and magician respectively. To me that's super cool, like, a game that has an anime is referencing RPG games (its own genre), anime as a whole, as well as the medium of entertainment in general, with the latest starters all being entertainers. And people will hate when I say this because they think he's cute and on four legs or whatever but the fire croc is a really bad example of that concept being done. He's not an obvious singer by any means, nor does his design reflect that. He barely seems like a ghost type at all. It's bizarre to me.
Thank goodness my favourite is just Gengar. The only thing I ever needed to make clear is that I'm not a genwunner just because my favourite fictional pocket monster was in the first 151.
Or maybe even Jaiden since the two have a good amount of experience doing this type of stuff together; like imagine her and Jacob doing a soul link together where Jacob knows the types/moves and Jaiden does not and goes in blind. Imagine the chaos that would unfold.
Honestly this game is a masterpiece, from the type chart being based of of intuition, the genius uno-reverse type just reversing it and the game just immediately throwing you off with tri-types, to the replaced gym leaders and elite 4 members. And most importantly the fun and jokes the programmers seemed to have with it. Its a total masterpiece.

This is definitely one of the best Pokemon gimmicks, it really makes you feel like it's your first playthrough again.
The only other one I can think of is Pokemon Sweets
I love that they found a way to make baby pokemon a viable alternative to their relatives & they used one of my favorite pokemon to do it. I also like that they gave it a babality.
baby reverse type type - your worst nightmare
The words "HE JUST FUCKING SHOT SABLEYE!" are the greatest words to ever come out of anyone's mouth.
The pure joy on Alpharad's face when he realized the type matchups followed his logic was priceless!
Can we appreciate how the developers changed the Pokemon's types, used logic to make type match-ups, and added spawns that wouldn't usually be in the route to show off the new types. Absolutely amazing!
Edit: Please don't get political with the replies, it's just a game.

Salamence type.

that'd be a funny reference to when Google labeled Dragon as Salamence type, or something like that haha
It's a JaidenAnimation reference, actually. When she did her Randomized Soullink in HeartGold/SoulSilver.
im pretty sure its not , the salamence type meme existed way before she made her soul link video@@pika-stashe404

Honestly surprised there wasn’t a “Dad” type. Like it would fit Pokémon like slaking and snorlax. Obviously it would get moves like “Mow the lawn” “Wake up slap” “I’m not mad, just disappointed.” And “life advice”
Dad type, is not there, just like my dad
Love the three made up moves, and then just Wake Up Slap
“Dad joke” move would be BUSTED
"Machoke used The Talk!"
“pass me the remote”
Imagine living in that world and having to say that your dad is the leader of a furry type gym
19:38 That emotional damage... "Then Vaporeon became my favorite pokemon, but any time I start talking about it... It's over..."
As a person who’s favorite Pokémon is Mega Lucario, I relate buddy…I think
Gardevoir fan here. I can't ever mention my favorite Pokémon without adding "I just like the type"
My favorite Pokemon is Ogerpon, but IDK if... nah, I know how fandoms go...
I’d love to see a blind nuzlocke of this. Like Jan not looking at the type chart and perishing.
Jan the type of guy to memorize this type chart and every type combination in the game.
This is the rom you send to Jan telling him you beat it first try.
i bet he watches every alpharad video
Or maybe even Jaiden since the two have a good amount of experience doing this type of stuff together; like imagine her and Jacob doing a soul link together where Jacob knows the types/moves and Jaiden does not and goes in blind.
Imagine the chaos that would unfold.
We should get him on Pokémon wack as well
The whole 7th gym fight was such a wild ride, didn’t even get into the deporting and rootin tootin shenanigans
28:44 I love how you KNOW jacob says "FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S"
Honestly this game is a masterpiece, from the type chart being based of of intuition, the genius uno-reverse type just reversing it and the game just immediately throwing you off with tri-types, to the replaced gym leaders and elite 4 members. And most importantly the fun and jokes the programmers seemed to have with it. Its a total masterpiece.

Love how all of the 'Magic' type moves are just D&D spells.
Eldritch Blast, Magic Missile, etc.
Yep, the funny thing is they are all some of the stronger and staple spells from 5e and then just... Mage Armor...
@jjp9262 what are you talking about? Mage armor is absolutely a staple spell in 5e, especially after rest casting
I hope Magic type is strong against Dark Type, because I cast Magic Missile at the darkness.
@@justforlawlsandtrollsMage armor is easily replaceable because sorcs and wizards love to multiclass into things with actual armor. Mage Armor is only really good in very early game, and even then, with the limited slots, might still be not worth it.
@witherkichian4867 well the spell-slot problem is mostly solved by rest-casting, and dipping into classes with better armor gets in the way of spell progression. Like don't get me wrong, it's not a spell that can go on every build by any means, but it's still powerful and versatile in many areas to justify it's inclusion here
