    thanks for the video.
    - all chemicals (kerosene, oil, air-filter oil) should be handled with gloves on - they absorb right through your skin and end up in your liver.
    - plain engine oil is not a good thing to use on the foam because it eventually ends up at the bottom of the filter leaving the top of the foam, too dry and the bottom too wet. Always use air-filter "oil" - it goes on easy and "dries" to a very tacky state and never moves in the foam after application.

      Im sure you're right, but kawasaki still recommand to use engine oil in their owner manual.

    Thanks, Kenny. Many of your videos are helping me learn my KLR since I bought it two months ago. Leaving from Detroit tomorrow to ride the Trans Labrador Highway (northeast Canada). Should take a week or so just to get to the start of it!

    I like these vids that show you practical ways to do things. I learned that kerosene and gear oil work on chain cleaning and lubing too.

    Your good demonstration makes it encouragingly simple. Thank you.

    I hace a question, why should i apply oil to the air filtre when it is clean ? Thank You.

    • @ottokiehl5413
      @ottokiehl5413 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The oil makes the filter "tacky/sticky"

    shouldnt use kerosene or motor oil, they contain petroleum which will degrade and disolve your filter over time.

  • @TiberiusStorm
    @TiberiusStorm 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You should wear gloves when handling kerosene!

    Are you really going to replace the KLR ?

    • @kennyraceboy
      @kennyraceboy  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ducatiphill Yes sadly, but hopefully I'll still be able to keep it around, and make videos with it in the future.

      I know things change and time moves on. But there is some thing, about you and the KLR that is natural. Sort of achievable for anyone. That not to say the new addition will be any less enjoyable to watch. So good luck with what you choose and thanks for doing what you do. : )

    • @kennyraceboy
      @kennyraceboy  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ducatiphill Yes, I whole heartedly agree, and thats what I love about the KLR so much! And I'll do every thing in my power to keep it around, and I hope the new motorcycle addition will open a whole new world of videos that people can enjoy! As always Ducatiphill, I am thankful for all the great people that take the time to be active in this awesome community!
