EAGLE has The best guitar solos of all their music.
And if you want a real Guitar treat you should watch them perform EAGLE live at their Wembley concert. Borjn is tearing it up like any rocker of that era. Did you know Bjorn and Benny were in rock bands in the 60s before they met the girls? Benny was in a band dubbed the Swedish Beatles HEP CATS. Borjn was in The other biggest band in Sweden. HOOTNANY SINGERS Who got their name and start from folk music.
Also the girls were solo singers in their own right. Agnetha already had a number one song before she met Borjn.
Anni-Frid (Frida) was singing in jazz clubs since she was 16.

This also plays into the name of the group. When all four of them got together they considered themselves singers or musicians in their own right so the names on their first album were all four of their first and last names. Their manager Stig Anderson got tired of writing them out so he started writing ABBA.

Don’t waste your time like I did looking up the music of the 60s bands. There’s not much of note. They became master song writers and producers when they met the girls. In fact Benny and Bjorn got together for their first album and brought their girlfriends for back up vocals. It didn’t take them long to realize they are no longer the singers LOL

ABBA also had a much bigger career in Australia and Europe. They had some success in the USA. But not on the scale that they did in the UK and beyond. You might recognise the opening chords from Madonna's Hung Up as she wrote to ABBA to ask permission to use it.

Thank you for the comments on your exposure or lack thereof to non-American music while you were growing up. It really makes sense because ABBA were subjected to unparalleled criticism and ridicule in the US when they were at the height of their career. It was only when the next generation came along who had not been exposed to the critical vitriol that fresh ears gave them an honest hearing without the din and racket of the critics. Even as late as 2004, the punk group Tom Hingley and the Lovers called their debut album "ABBA are the Enemy," regurgitating "We have met the enemy and they are them. C”"
(Robert Christgau, the self-proclaimed “dean of American rock critics,” 1977). I've lived in the US since 1986 and I do not recall hearing any ABBA song on the radio other than "Dancing Queen." I kind of envy you for having the opportunity to discover something new that excites you. Enjoy the journey.

    Hi 👋
Glad you've found ABBA. I know they didn't have the same impact in the States as in the rest of the world, so it isn't hard at all to understand why you haven't heard them much. Glad you get the chance now. There's a lot of music to go through, and to be honest, I'm a bit envious. They have so many gems in their catalogue. Enjoy!

Sir, I'm 56 years old and I grew up in the Philadelphia area. Trust me, it was hard to be an ABBA fan there as well. Rarely played on the radio (I've documented my struggles being a fan since 1976 on another channel, so I won't get into it here). The bottom line is that the U.S. was not into ABBA back in the day and probably won't be again with the new songs, but there's always hope! Thanks for posting another ABBA reaction video.

It gives me great pleasure to see you enjoy the songs of ABBA
"Gimme gimme gimme (a man after midnight)" is a song influenced by American disco, after the success of the Bee Gees and the movie 'Saturday night fever "
In this song you can see part of the volume and range of voice that the blonde Agnetha has
ABBA was preparing his 1979 Tour of America and Europe, in the previous one , They recorded this song and filmed the Official video
There is an only video in which all ABBA is seen in the recording studio,
including staff musicians (bass guitarist and drummer) and sound engineer Michel Tretow at the controls, creator of the well-known 'ABBA sound' with his innovative 'wall of sound' multiplication technique (an adaptation of the works of Phill Spector)
The introduction and the instrumental ending, that characteristic sound of keyboards, is what Madonna used for her hit "Hung Up" (with the permission of the composers Björn and Benny, granting them share the credits)
Surely for the latter, this is the second official ABBA video with the most views on TH-cam (behind only "Dancing Queen", which has already surpassed 500 million views)
"Gimme gimme gimme" was released as a single and in the álbum "Greatest Hits 2"
it was #3 in UK, don't succes in US
Thank you again for these video
    See you in the next
    GOD bless you

One of ABBA's best songs!! It is hard to choose favourites. They have so many good ones and so many different styles, even though it immediately shines through who's playing. I must say that the new one Don't Shut Me Down is amazingly good, I think it will be a classic.
I am very weak for these songs: Knowing Me Knowing You, Money Money Money, Take A Chance On Me, The Name of..(u just review it), As Good As New, Kisses of Fire, Super T, and The Winner (u reviewed as well), When All Is Said And Done, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room.

For a suggestion to better songs:
in my humble opinion and test:
    Eagle (almost six minutes)
The name of the Game (with solo parts of Agnetha & Frida)
Move On (with special intro and fantastic chorus)
all these songs from "ABBA The Álbum" (1977), are different style and genres, and true Masterpieces
and if You like to see ABBA in Concert
    my suggestion is double:
    "Does your mother know" +
    "Hole in your soul"
    (both songs in a row)
    at Wembley in London 1979
P.S.: I suggest before "Waterloo" special in Eurovisión, because is the begin of ABBA legend, but I understand that don't react a famous song that You know, as S.O.S.

Yeah, sure, you don't need to explain your music exposure, most people don't know lots of music. I was born in 1972 with two sisters 10 & 12 years older... My first musical memories are being blasted with disco, Abba and the Carpenters, the A&M label going round on the turntable is one of my earliest memories! The keyboard hook passage you like was sampled in Madonna's 'Hung Up' The only time they've let their music be used by another artist.... I think she had to wait a little before they made up their minds.😀 Waterloo is the song they won the 'Eurovision Song Contest' with in 1974. It took a couple of years after that to really get going though, certainly not instant success.

I think you need more subs to like get your channel verified as a reaction vids channel so that the videos are not instantly removed. That's something that I heard anyways, that if you get lots of subs they are not taken down straight away. A quick fix could be to add some filter to the video. Slap the groups name on top of it. Or minimize the frame.
Also heard that different record labels have different attitudes towards reactions. Sometimes everything is blocked.
Lastly I suppose that 'dancing queen' is probably their biggest hit along with 'the winner takes it all.' Personally I would recommend _'Adante adante,'_ it's a hidden gem with some very beautiful instrumentals and vocals. The connoisseurs pick, perhaps?

As for the passive-aggressive a**hole, pay no mind. Also, Abba weren't that big in the States.
PS. I just purchased a ticket for the Abba Voyage concert in London next summer. It'll be a different kind of gig - there will be a live band but the four members will appear as motion picture avatars (what they call Abbatars). As a person with a futuristic mindset, I'm kinda excited about this. Anyway, they're all in their 70s and couldn't take the rigours of an actual world tour.

AYBL..about the person that made a comment on how could you be that age and not having heard of some Abba songs...Well despite Abba being a phenomenon elsewhere, they weren"t a household name in the States as in the rest of the world.Which was really a shame and pretty unfair. But appart from some specific reasons ,-not to discuss now- there was also a hugely different culture there. It was all about rock n roll ,soul, funk, country music, some new wave, rap later on, e.tc.I want to believe it was just a well intented over enthusiastic question that sounded a little agressive.Cause Abba fans are usually very nice people- such as you are- that have also suffered from unfair judgement for loving this band. So don"t get sad and no need to take it so personal. As for this choice its in my top 3 along with "SOS" and "The winner"First time i heard this masterpiece it was a cold November night of 1979.Iwas a little child who got seduced by the sound of the adventurous opening part, followed by that unusually magical keyboard rif.I got so thrilled!Second time i heard it my heartbeat bombed so high i nearly fainted.I also remember the excitement when i rushed out to buy it 2 weeks later that was released in the area i was living. It was my best present for the upcoming Christmas time the "GREATEST HITS VOL.2"Album.
