Reaction to ABBA's Super Trouper Song Another reaction to what is becoming the 'kick myself for not listening to earlier' band in my playlists. #ABBA #supertrouper #songreaction
Very good reaction. Missing your ABBA-reactions. Great popsong and their backing vocals are always giving the songs some extra. Frida shines in this song
As a swede, it warms the heart to see people's joy and sincere surprise when they discover how good ABBA really was / is. They are so much more than their classic hits
@@masseysmaineentertainment Thank you 💛💙 To be honest ABBA weren't t that big in USA as they were in Europe and Australia. Maybe beacuse the lack of liveshows? 🤔 You have much to do now 🙃🎶🎸

I was fortunate, they were very present on the radio in the 70's-80's in this part of Florida, surely one of their records would have been one of my first bought.
Great reaction! Here are a couple of their songs that you probably haven’t heard, Thank You For The Music and Why Did It Have To Be Me! I think you’ll like them.
So nice to have an excuse to enjoy the Abba songs that I love from the yesteryears! Your reaction and commentary provide further depth to my appreciation for these songs. I’d like to introduce a few obscure but powerful gems from Abba which have never been popularized. You could probably appreciate why : a) (the forlorn yet oh-so-imagery-rich) I let the music speak (b) lay all your love on me c) Cassandra
It's interesting you mention the Beach Boys harmonies because Benny always said his top musical influence was America's Beach Boys. Bjorn's lyrical writing was influenced by The Beatles. Agnetha's fav growing up was Connie Francis. Frida liked and performed Jazz in her music beginning, enjoying influences in various popular genres ( including at one point opera) and on to an affinity for Pat Benatar !
Nice reaction. A few songs you may not have heard include Lay all your love on me, The name of the game, the winner takes it all, SOS, Take a chance on me.
Joy! This was the first ABBA album I bought, then began collecting them all. The next new release, The Visitors, blew my mind. Glad you are discovering their music. I kind of envy you in that regard. Like the BeeGees this group was immensely talented if not fashionable. Peace and all good things to you.
@@masseysmaineentertainment I love the earliest Bee Gees from "Massachusetts" (first #1 single) to "Main Course" álbum (1975), but I don't like when They was in disco music
All the Gibs had a very big apreciation for Abba and vice versa.Agnetha was a big fan of the SNF era .During a bbc radio interview while doing promotion for the "Voulez vouz"album In 1979, when asked, she had their songs as a personal favourite. They also participated together in the Unicef 1979 concert.Besides all of Abba had joined Olivia and Andy making an unforgettable TV A special in the States a year earlier.
Thank you for this reaction, this is my fav Abba single but there are album tracks that I like more. I like Anni-Frid's vocals more than Agnetha. The Day Before You Came and Lay All Your Love On Me are my fav songs where Agnetha sings lead, and Anni-Frid too many to mention. The had 8 number 1 singles in South Africa and 7 chart topping albums.
thank you for this video with your reaction and comments You made me so happy to see You enjoy with the greatest ABBA songs "Super trouper" (1980) was the nine and last #1 to ABBA in UK (and it was the #1 at the day than John Lennon was murder) It's the opening track in Their sixth album "Super Trouper" , that was #1 too in UK and several countries of all continents This album included the most heartbroken song "The winner takes it all" , it shows how versatily ABBA is You did before "The winner takes it all" and "Super Trouper" is the same year, the following single, and both was #1 in UK specialy Two songs different in style and lyrics and lead singer, and worldwide hit too in Súper Trouper you can hear clear Frida amazing as a lead singer, and Agnetha fantastic in second voice and a beautiful melody with power and catchy chorus I see that You know some ABBA songs like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mía, S.O.S. my suggestion is "The name of the game" (1977) from "The álbum" the most versatily sound of ABBA
yeah you're right Sir, Anni-Frid (known as Frida) is lead vocalist yeah also, Benny's band in the 60s was the Hep Stars & Benny was a huge Beach Boys fan always (whereas i think Björn was more into the Beatles) quite a few Abba recordings have strong BB influence...i always think it's Benny at work x
You also mentioned something about The BEACH BOYS". Well Benny was ALWAYS mentioning being a big fan of the band and Brian Wilson. He stated "Good vibrations"and "Do you wanna dance"as great records. As for other 60"s bands with such tight harmonies personally no one could sound better in my ears than John,Denny,Michy, and CassElliot singing in unison. aka"The mamas and the papas"
@Blue AmyBenny paid tribute to the Beach Boys in the "Supertrouper"album with the song"ON AND ON AND ON"Yeah Phil Spector was a very influential man. Can be heard clearly in all of ABBAs work especially in their 2nd and 3rd album. I also have a great aprecation for LOU ADLER producer of the Mamas and the papas.Even though it wasnt my generation i take my hat off to the way he and especially John Philips were setting the vocal harmonies to that band.As for Benny i didnt know he was a Bach fan.You are right about LAYLOM.I know he was a "keyboard freak".I laughed so much when I read somewhere that he once attacked a huge tiramisu tart cake missunderstanding it for the new yamaha synthesizer! But iam sure it was a joke.
wow! ok, you should probably just jump right in to the deep end of ABBA, and hear The Visitors track. About E.T. coming and sweeping Frida away. A 5 min work of art that was a hit on disco dance floors all over the world from 82 until now. :) And then Fernando was a big hit as well you should do. And since your on this album Souper Trouper, do Lay All Your Love On Me. They pick out wonderous rhythem that only yodling Swed's could do! :)) That was a big dance hit as well.
@@antonwiderberg7571 Oh yea! You know it! The girls do some complicated backing vocals sometimes hard to pick up, that sound like yodeling. Lovers Live A Little Longer, (chorus) Great fun! Thanks! :)

@@Bjorn9284 That sounds great! I hope you I'll enjoy it. That's a nice one, "The Day Before You Came" is in my ABBA top 5 songs. It's such a great song.
Great reaction; you get it; the song is a bit autobiographical. At the time it was written (Bjorn is the main lyricist and Benny the main musical composer) Bjorn and Agnetha had split up. Frida sings the lead but the song is more about how lonely Bjorn felt, even “facing 20,000 of his friends” and how much he looked forward to seeing his new girlfriend in the crowd. Ouch. Love the keyboard intro and bridge especially, sounds like a fairground (the video and album cover feature a circus). If you wanna try glam rock ABBA from earlier try “So Long”, “Waterloo”, “Hole In Your Soul”. Their 3 best songs overall are “Move On”, “SOS” and “Knowing Me, Knowing You”
There is an official music video for "Super Trouper" now remastered in 4K. They made a lot of videos back then, but not all songs have music videos and just 10 or so have been remastered in 4K so far. Link: th-cam.com/video/BshxCIjNEjY/w-d-xo.html
They really understood Phil Spectors ”wall of sound” and that less is more wich brings a dramaturgical touch to their music. Their classic song Mamma Mia is a good example in were they strip off almost all instruments in the chrorus wich is very unusual in most songs from other artist. Thats geniously done.
I suggest these lesser known ABBA hits: Chiquitita, Knowing Me Knowing You, Eagle & When All is Said and Done I also suggest these non-singles: One Man One Woman, Move On, I Am The City & I'm A Marionette

One of my favorites is the title track of their last album: The Visitors. You'll hardly recognize it's ABBA, it's gloomy dark and futuristic, Frida with desperate lead vocals, and then the chorus comes in and it's suddenly ABBA.
I am listening to many things lately - and I still continue to do my top 5 videos and I wanted to keep doing top 10 (but I don't get any traction with those videos much).
