    I asked my dealership how long would they take to install this and they said 3hours so that's $330 in labor. WOW, this just saved me money. Thank you!

    • @AdamSVT

      wow.. 3 hours maybe taking ones time.. but that's a good amount of labor.. if you are good with tools and like doing it yourself go for it!

      @@AdamSVT i know its been a few years. and idk if theyve changed much. but i just got a set in today. after i got them in. ive noticed the brights dont really project further down road. they just kind of center the beam. is that how yours are as well? or did i do something wrong?

      @@followmetothemorgue kind of. So after doing more research. (After spending pretty much 200 dollars on these.) Halogen housings are designed to project light from a full bulb. Not just a 2 sided led. So yes these are a crap ton brighter. But they won't project any better. But in fact. They'll probably give you less light spread. Not saying I don't recommend these bulbs. But unless you have a housing designed to spread the light from a 2 sided led, I would just buy some higher quality Halogen bulbs.

    Looks much better! How’s the venting though? Asking because everything is stuff back in the stock housing.

    How are they holding up? I have wondered about overheating due to no fresh air being circulated by the fans in the headlight buckets.

  • @emphase6
    @emphase6 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Man, I've been dying to upgrade my yellow tint looking headlights for a long time but didn't know which bulbs to choose. In the video you put a note saying you can remove the base of the bulb to avoid cutting the boot, what does this base consist of? that's not the cooling part of the new bulb is it?
    Thanks!

  • @cotrell1000
    @cotrell1000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    ive got a quick question hopefully you or someone can help me with. so ive recently purchased and installed these lights. and it seems that my left headlight is pointed way to high, its clearly lighting up oncoming traffics face in pretty dark conditions. the right headlight is pointed pretty well center. i know they dont move independently vertically from eachother, so im curious if its just me or if its a common issue. its a 12 striple r 675 driving in the u.s. so my thinking is the left should be pointed slightly lower than the right, but it seems drastically higher.

  • @MotoErgoSum
    @MotoErgoSum 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Please report back if there are any heat issues with the bulbs down the line. I've heard of bulbs from various brands and types getting too hot and melting headlights. Had that issue with my projector lights on the 955i when I put regular PIAA halogens in. Nice to find reliable brands to go with.

    I'm struggling with a very similar bulb on a street triple of the same kind as in the video. I can't put the whole thing back together as the extra wires and box take up too much space. That's sadly not shown in this video where and how exactly it got tucked to....

    • @AdamSVT

    Do the headlights overheat?where does the heat from the led fan go? Read some people had problems with the headlight housing due to overheating.did you have any problems?

    • @AdamSVT
      @AdamSVT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope.. been riding in the crazy heat too.. almost always on high beam during the day and they are flawless. I assume the heat gets pushed out of the back but I understand what you are saying that there isn't much venting from the back of the headlight unit.. but.. it's perfect and one of my very favorite mods.

    Thanks for the video. I'd been leaning towards installing auxiliary lights on my STR, but I think I'll do both! Bright headlights and some floods down low?! No deer surprising me anymore or cars failing to see me! These are plug and play, no adapters?

    • @AdamSVT
      @AdamSVT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's going to be plenty of light.. I'll be honest the headlights are one of my favorite mods to date.. they make the bike much more visible during the car to other vehicles.. and they throw a lot of light...

      What about the park lights? Which bulb should i use for the running light?

    • @AdamSVT
      @AdamSVT  ปีที่แล้ว

      The flash to pass lights are part of each dual filament H4 head light bulb. If you mean the smaller bulbs in the headlight housing (I think they are called city lights or something as they are only on when the parking lights are on) those are #194 bulbs in LED. I went with Phillips brand bulbs and they worked perfectly,

    FYI guys if you make this upgrade, the LED light will be scattered all over the place from the stock reflector housing, and you will just be blinding anyone in front of you, even if you're on low beams. LED headlights need to be in a projector housing, or else they scatter light everywhere.
