Another great video!🙂 My top three tips are... 1. Little and often - I'd rather do one load of laundry a day than save it all for the weekend. 2. One touch - I put stuff away as I go. 3. Prepare in advance - I prep as much as possible the night before which saves so much time in the morning. Your new house is lovely btw. Xx
When I'm feeling overwhelmed with the house I take photos of the rooms from all angles and then look at them from the point of view of someone coming to visit. We are blind to our own messes sometimes, so for example a cup left on the fireplace all day or overnight, post that isn't dealt with, broken child's toy put on the side to fix etc. Are all things I could leave all day or longer and "forget" but seeing the room in photos makes me look as if it's someone else looking at it. Xx
I do this when my house is tidy it always looks so nice compared to how we see it your so right about that! I’m always shocked how different it looks on photos
Your tips are the best! What helps me to keep the house clean a lot is: -Doing laundry everyday - Organising all of my cabinets at least once a month so I can throw things away, or store them properly - I don’t wait untill the house is really messy, but I clean everything right away, also, I try to use the “one touch” method, that helps a lot
Yes, great tips! I think the next tip is team work. I put decorative things out, but my husband calls them clutter and puts them in the cupboard, usually somewhere I cannot access 😂 So I blame him for us running out of storage Xx
Hi Emily I'm 14 years old I LOVE your videos im having a really hard time with organising school work and study but you have motivated me to do it every thing is so clean labelled and organized I'm able to relax now thank you!!!!!
The one touch method can be used for anything especially the mail coming in and sorting/ paying/ dealing with them right away. Whenever we put something off it becomes much bigger than it actually is in the first place. Sometimes it only takes under a minute! My kids implement putting their things away in this manner so nothing gets done until the thing they are using is completely put away before going to the next thing. I liked the craft basket idea one basket for these items. I use the method of getting rid of things before buying something new, or evaluating whether I need The new item by looking at everything I already own and how many. Having a certain space only for those items is a great idea! I love the canvas bags for clothes seasonal items and so on. Still need some help getting everything a place, but following these ideas- including taking a picture right before organizing, even sending it to a friend motivated us sometimes! Thankyou Emily for so many new ideas! You’re always a down to earth realistic person we can be inspired by and you make the goals within reach! Stay safe yourself too! May God be with you and family!
Fabulous tips thank you❤️ I feel that since the start of this pandemic my anxiety levels have soared and being extremely organised both at home and at work has helped! It’s probably all about gaining control etc! I don’t think my house, classroom and office have ever been so organised! Thank you for the tips, motivation and joy you bring 🥰 Stay safe xxx
I'm going to implement the "block the clutter zone with something " idea. In my house any flat surface is fair game for dumping. My tidy up secrets? Clean up as I go, pick up and put away, vacuum and be vigilant to reorganize spaces that aren't working. I clear out and donate regularly. Decluttering and tidying are ongoing processes. Thank you so much for videos like this one! Inspiring and motivating!
My tip is literally what you said about if its not working rethink the space and try and find the solution. I've learnt on this video I sort my storage backwards... I've always purchased storage first 🤣 i love the block space tip 👌
All of them are my favorites. They are really helpful! I adore you ms.emily for keeping your house tidy eventhough u have 3kids. U are also so industrious as a mother & motivated to do things. You are an inspiration to me. Greeting from the Philippines!🤗😍
I am a big fan of ur one touch method and it has changed my life, thankyou ☺️ I have also been prepping my sons school uniform and his bag a night prior which makes it much easier not looking for anything last minute. I watch these vlogs again and again specifically mum hacks, organisation vlogs and meal ideas these are my absolute favourites. Thankyou 💞
i gained the one touch method after an older video of yours two years ago and i’ve been applying it ever since! and of course spreading it around..thank you so much for sharing ♥️
My favourite ones: - dividers for socks and that kind of stuff - decluttered and minimalistic bedroom Plus from me: - hangers! ( I absolutely prefer them)
Thanks for you videos i´ve been watching you channel for a long time now i think i was starting watching your channel when my first baby was around 8 months or so :) we have a one year old and a two year old so most of the cleaning is done after we put them to bed. Tidy up their toys , cleaning the kitchen ready for the next day and then the robotvaccum takes over when where are almost done. The robotvaccum really was a savior for us and what we can achieve while the kids are asleep.
Such a motivating video Emily! My tips that I live by are mainly from you! Including “if it’s only going to take you 5/10 minutes to just get it done” “if it hasn’t been worn or used in the last 12 months to bin/charity shop it”. Everything in my house has a label! 🤣 it makes everything look so much more satisfying 🤣I might even label my other half....I’ve got a very fitting label in mind 🤔🤣🔞 Jokes aside! I love your videos, and they’ve really helped me to keep on top of my LIFE and housework whilst being a new mummy! I’m only 21 and have a 13 month old so it isn’t always easy to keep the house clean and organised and keep up with ‘self care’ (whatever that is😬🤣) but your videos make it a lot easier - Thankyou ! 💗
I always have donation bins for clothes in my kids room. I also go through their clothes every season change and reorganize pull everything out. Clothes that still fit and are not the season get rotate it out. Then I do the three piles keep donate and toss (stained or holes).
These are all fabulous tips! I am crazy about towels - bath, hand, kitchen - but I can only have as many kitchen towels as will fit in one deep drawer in the kitchen, and only as many bath and hand towels as fit on the designated shelf in the linen closet. This works wonders for managing clutter AND it also has a positive impact on my budget. If I can't store it, I don't buy it.
Hi Emily, I have 2 clean habits that I do every morning. They are both quick and easy but they’re game changers (in my opinion)! 1) empty the dishwasher whilst waiting the kettle to boil every morning. 2) do a wash load everyday. Wash/dry/put away. This time I year I don’t have very many items that need ironing 😁👍xx
I started doing your one touch method a little while ago, after another brilliant video of yours, it’s been a game changer. As a busy mum of an active toddler oh my it makes a huge difference! Thank you and can’t wait to see your next video 🥳 keep safe x
I am going to The Container Store and to IKEA this weekend and I'm so excited! It's so funny that you posted this today because I spent most of yesterday watching a ton of your older videos with cleaning tips, organizing tips, etc. :) My favorite tip is, at the end of the day, when I'm exhausted and tired and don't want to clean up: will Morning Me of Tomorrow appreciate what Evening Me of Today did to tidy & clean? The answer is always yes. I don't want to walk out and see a messy kitchen or living space first thing in the morning. Clutter and mess is stressful. So, Evening Me of Today always cleans up for Morning Me of Tomorrow so my day will start out on the right foot. ♥
Love this video Emily (and that sweater💛). Would you share some favorite declutter/organization audio books please? I’m doing a whole house declutter this year and I’m loving listening to minimalim podcasts and videos on TH-cam because they motivate me so much! Thanks and hope you’re all safe ❤️ xx
I do this one touch and make my boys do it...even the hubby’s learning!...everything has a place, I roll everything up in mine and boys drawers... I want to start the label thing too..ooh also TOMM’s rule ( the organised mum method...she’s fab ) always recommends doing just half hr i think... a day, so it doesn’t get on top of you. I also clean as I go along xxx❤️😊
You are so organized i just love your personality! I have a baby and 2 older childeren and sometimes its so hard just to get time for cleaning and decluttering.
To keep organised I watch Emily on a Friday night because Saturday is house work day. After working a hard week I need motivation for Saturday morning .
Organisation videos are my favourite! So inspiring! I love the one touch habit and "blocking" a dumping ground area....and I am definitely trying to only buy something else if I get rid of something. A tip I saw elsewhere was to try and sell an item before buying something new, helps save the pennies too!
I always store based on usage. And you are right you have to declutter first before buying storGe bins I am guilty of it.Thanks for the advice and please more of content like this
Awesome tips Emily. My kitchen table is a dumping zone!! It makes a big visual difference when l clear it off and l feel so much better..... until the next time 🙃 you have inspired me to make our bedroom more of a special place - l very much want to make it attractive and decluttered. X
My tip: at the moment I’m trying hard to not leave a room with empty hands. I’m sure some people already do this but I had to program myself to think ‘which room am I going to now? what can I take with me from this room to that room’ It has helped so much!
The one thing I've been doing for years is adapting to the space I have. I have one closet so I'm just allowed to have what fits there. Works wonderfully.
My number 1 thing I do, ever since you mentioned it in a previous video (and again in this one) is the one touch method!! It makes such a difference to do little and often instead of letting all pile up. If it takes me 10 seconds extra to do properly then I'll do it!! So thank you Emily, I really appreciate that tip and I use it daily!!
Great tips. My favourite is the no lids one. A tip I have is to try not to use round containers when storing stuff, as they can waste quite a lot of space. Square & rectangular containers are much better. I love your sweatshirt. Yellow is my favourite colour.
Loved the one tuch rule. I think for me it's the best. I'm such a messy person, constantly struggling to organise things but especially keep them organised 🙈
My number 1 tip, and its a new one I've been starting this year, is to take 10-15 mins each night to tidy things up, kids toys, dishes , sweep, wipe down counters and table...I was guilty of just leaving it till morrning because I was so tired but it would just make me very overwhelmed come morrning to know I had to clean even more after breakfast
I love this video.. I remember when I first found you I was looking for storage and organisational video and I stayed ever since .. I love your jumper ,yellow really suits you xx
I clean / organise for a living (at least I did before Covid!) so I was nodding in agreement to all your tips. I follow Melissa Maker on TH-cam (Clean My Space) and would highly recommend her for further tips. One tip I will share for my fellow Mum's out there is when you get time (lol, yeah, I know) to clean a room, view the room as a clock. Clean top to bottom (dust falls down after all) and work around the room. Don't daintily sweep crumbs off the counter, ain't nobody got time for that! Sweep all the crap into the floor, then hoover it up. My clients always say to me they marvel.how much I can get done in a two hour slot...well this is how. You're welcome.
I wish I could have only three piles when I’m decluttering: I also need a ‘selling ‘, ‘recycling’, ‘taking to the electronics shop’, ‘taking to the waste disposal centre’... on top of that all these bags always go through a bit of a quarantine in my car 🤪 the good thing is that it gets better and easier guys!! After decluttering and decluttering, and putting a lot of thought and analytical thinking in finding a place for each thing i have, I finally can spend only a few minutes decluttering one drawer, or one box that I had forgotten. I used to try the one touch rule, but it used to drive me crazy! I was spinning around home not finishing anything and switching from one thing to another. But now it’s easier because everything is tidy all the time! So I can concentrate on minor things that take less than 2 minutes. Also, Emily, one thing that helps me a lot, a part from not having lids, is having transparent containers, particularly in places where there’s a lot of dust like the garage. Checking what’s inside a box at a glance, without even opening it is very satisfying.
Love from India. Best tips. The last tip is actually so true & I implement it . In indian culture ppl tend to hang pictures of Gods & gurus and even deceased relatives in the bedroom.
Love the tips! I have waaay to many dumping grounds... Need to get some flower arrangements. Can you share where you get your flowers from and how do you keep them looking so fresh? I find it hard to keep silk flowers clean. Would love to hear your tips on that xx

My number one cleaning habit: have a rhythm! Monday, Wednesday, Friday = Laundry days, bedsheets every other weekend, bathrooms on a Wednesday, grocery delivery on a Monday, dusting on a Thursday etc. If you let it pile up, it’ll overwhelm you. Another top tip: get help! Involve the kids, give tasks to partner etc.
Thanx sooo much for all the lovely tips..I am loving the one touch thing ..it makes things so much easier .can’t wait for the next video..lots of love from SriLanka ❤️
Really love this! I’m filming a clean & declutter video this weekend so really need some motivation, tips and reminders on what things I haven’t done for a while like relabelling everything !! I always do a deep clean on Sunday and attempt to keep on top during the week! (3 kids, newborn, homeschooling, losing weight and keeping up on social media) it’s needed lol Xx
Ooh loved this video Emily, would love to see more of the same xx Also, any tips on organising your child’s school art work that they bring home in bucket loads 🙈
Hi Emily, hope you're well I was looking for kitchen organiser videos on TH-cam and bang there you have it video from my favourite youtuber 😀 🥰 thanks hun 😘
One thing I have started doing is before I sit down at night there needs to be nothing on the benches except what belongs there. A place for everything and everything in its place. Constantly telling myself OHIO only handle it once which I think you quoted not so long ago.🌻
Hi Emily brilliant video as always absolutely love you and your outfits as always my favourite was your one touch method I will definitely be using this haha keep up the amazing content xx
My granny always said 'If you say Good night to your house, it will say Good morning to you!' So I always tidy before I go to bed....
th-cam.com/video/_pvxVGVr5gQ/w-d-xo.html
That's so lovely
I LOVE this it’s sooo true!!! Mine more often than not tells me to “f” off with the bad habits I have 🤣🤣🤣
Aw I love this! Not heard it before 💖xx
Grannies are always right 😊❤
Another great video!🙂
My top three tips are...
1. Little and often - I'd rather do one load of laundry a day than save it all for the weekend.
2. One touch - I put stuff away as I go.
3. Prepare in advance - I prep as much as possible the night before which saves so much time in the morning.
Your new house is lovely btw. Xx
i'm not a a morning person, very much a night owl... still don't do the last one :,)
Xx
That's very true, it does help!
I do this when my house is tidy it always looks so nice compared to how we see it your so right about that! I’m always shocked how different it looks on photos
Your tips are the best!
What helps me to keep the house clean a lot is:
-Doing laundry everyday

- I don’t wait untill the house is really messy, but I clean everything right away, also, I try to use the “one touch” method, that helps a lot
ah yes I heard Brittany Vasseur talk about the one touch method - it is a good one! xx
Yes, great tips! I think the next tip is team work. I put decorative things out, but my husband calls them clutter and puts them in the cupboard, usually somewhere I cannot access 😂
So I blame him for us running out of storage Xx
When I get home with the shopping, I clean and declutter the fridge. It feels so nice to have a clean and organised fridge!
Hi Emily I'm 14 years old I LOVE your videos im having a really hard time with organising school work and study but you have motivated me to do it every thing is so clean labelled and organized I'm able to relax now thank you!!!!!
Ah bless you Hannah. Thanks for watching, stay safe xx
I’m guilty of buying organization container even before decluttering & organizing.. 😩
Really great tips Emily!!

Fabulous tips thank you❤️
I feel that since the start of this pandemic my anxiety levels have soared and being extremely organised both at home and at work has helped!
Love this! Some great tips! Especially the clutter-free bedroom one. I’m definitely going to adopt that tip this week!
My tip is literally what you said about if its not working rethink the space and try and find the solution. I've learnt on this video I sort my storage backwards... I've always purchased storage first 🤣 i love the block space tip 👌
I think I have re-thought the organisation strategies for my husbands wardrobe about 5 times before we found something that worked! Finally!!
All of them are my favorites. They are really helpful! I adore you ms.emily for keeping your house tidy eventhough u have 3kids. U are also so industrious as a mother & motivated to do things. You are an inspiration to me. Greeting from the Philippines!🤗😍

Listening to your videos is so refreshing. I learn a lot and hoping to apply them. Thank you

Thank you Emily, very good tips will be using them for sure👍👍💕
Great tips! Now I'm also really curious about your favorite cleaning and organizing books!

One thing I have started doing is before I sit down at night there needs to be nothing on the benches except what belongs there.
A place for everything and everything in its place. Constantly telling myself OHIO only handle it once which I think you quoted not so long ago.🌻
