Perfect speed. So many in experienced people get behind a plow and think you need to do 20 km hr great job. It's the love of the land that holds you steady and true
Nice job of plowing ! Evidently the plow is adjusted perfectly because years ago an old farmer told me .." if you have the plow set right, when the field is done you should not be able to tell how many bottom plow you plowed it with "
Nice 6600 and plow, the constant sound of the engine give me the impression he is so happy doing it's work. I hear so many guys say old Ford's are light duty build but we had x2 5000's and x2 3000's, they did any job well and were strong pullers with plows and trailers. We grown corn, tobacco, oranges and potatoes on 800 hectares these day's in South Africa
I have the exact same plow, MF #88 4x16" semi mount that's like new ! I am surprised how many people don't know why a Ford or MF or MM has to have a different plow or a special hitch to use a semi mount plow on them. You did a great job plowing and it does my heart good to see someone doing a good job with a plow and actually using one ! Bandit
@@ethanvdavis Plowing is one of those things that you cant go fast and do a good job ! Find that gear and RPM that works the best and do a good job no matter how long it takes. Plowing is an art form, Do it right and its a thing of Beauty but do it wrong and its just a mess ! I have always liked Oliver plows better than all the others and they pull easer and roll the ground better to me. Bandit
We had a 6600 back in the day. Great tractor. They were 75 pto horsepower from the factory. We had our turned up to 105. It poured the smoke but would pull like crazy. You could not hardly bog down the engine. It would just spin the tires.
@1qa211 Its not suppose to be straight. The field is on a huge hill and I'm plowing with the contour of the land to minimize erosion and maximize equipment efficiency during harvesting.
depending on the type of soil, otherwise run it faster it will plough much better. these ford tractors are good tractors, I ve got a ford 5000. it can do any job with ease and good on fuel usage.
you could probly run that tractor in another gear. because it will turn the soil over better if you run it alittle faster. :) (not trying to be a know it all) i run my john deere tractor with a 2 bottom mccormick trip plow in 1 or 2 in high range. keep up the videos! Very nice!
Well, i have problems with traction. This tractor is not that heavy and has wide tires which slip a lot. And don't be frustrated if you have to go slow. The faster and deeper you go, the more stress on the plow and tractor. look up some videos on plowing tips. they can very helpful.
hey how hard is plowing on a 80 hp tractor, i will get the chance to plant corn this season, first time going through this. wondering what to expect. Also i am anything but new to farming just new to plowing and planting
You can run that 6600 at full throttle in the higher gear that will get the job done, and never slow down to turn, pick up the plow hit the break and drop the plow for the next pass at full throttle. This ford will take it, I know I am retired not and ran two 6600 tractors on my farm for many years
Mack Thompson lol, I did all maintenance, oil, repairs etc. I was a life long farmer, plowing was good, for myself or for hire. like I was saying that ford was tough and ran hard day by day, I sold both of them for top dollar, nuff said.
I didn't mean for it to come out like a personal attack, I just thought you might be interested in learning a new way. Australian farmer Colin Seis has it going on.
You need just a little more speed. It would not be harder on the plow and would turn the earth over a little better. The plow is doing a pretty good job however.
any one who can help me with a picture of the back of the switch, and wires how they go connected? for a ford 6600 tractor ? please ! i ll appreciate it !! thanks

I was always taught at vo-ag school that diesels, under load, should be run at full throttle. You put an undue strain or torque on the engine at lower RPM's under load. Not a mechanic, so I really don't know.

I just love those older ford's. Don't care for the new ones

Awesome video superb sound
Love to see that dirt turn!!!!!!!! Thx for posting!
A little discing and that fields ready to go! Awesome tractor
Excellent work! Looks like the Ford is pulling healthy!

you have to use these old fords at a lower rpm and low travel speed to do a good job
ethanvdavis you can run these tractors at full throttle, and some times a faster speed will work better, experience is the key here.

Exelente manejo del Ford no forsando al maximo asi se tratan las maquinas y duran mucho mas saludos desde Chile
Seems as a very well built and designed tractor. Looks to be easy to service as well.

Bandit farmer it does a pretty good job. Slow and steady. We still use this setup along with a case 830 and an Oliver 4 bottom semi mount.

Plowing that speed would definitely made my dad happy.
good job an nice tractor
That is just beautiful...

this field is very compacted and hasn't been plowed for a long time. We wanted to break it up good.
plowing is the best thing for many soil types.
SMOOTH, you are ploughing in a circle
nice job!
Those old fords seem to hold up pretty well even though you don't see too many of them
@ethanvdavis really nice,

they seem to be built so light duty, but they sure can pull!!!

That tractor could easily pull that plow at 5mph he's in 3rd high on dual speed . 5th low or 4th high no problem.. a Ford guy here
well done;
Powerful ford
@dirtbike5100 They sure do. If you check out my other videos you'll see more old fords.
Oh yeah we tried that but those tires have too much wheel slip at higher rps.

Its not water. Its a liquified calcium. Yes right around 1600 rpm. Its semi mounted on the 3 pt of the tractor. It does better than a full mount

You can stay in the same gear, just open the throttle up. It sounds like the tractor is just idling...

Pra quem qun pergunta q implemento é este é arado d arrasto ta mostrando como não se usa muito fundo não ten velocidade suficiente pra tombar a terra

How many acres per hour you get done?

nice , and adresse?
Alguém saberia informar qual o modelo desse implemento? Por favor responda em português do Brazil.
Arado de Vertedera
Why ploughing so slow????
I don't know if you are driving slow enough or not. lol go a little bit faster and the plow will do a better job of burying that grass.
Some wheel weighs should take care of your traction problem
Shift up a gear. That plow will turn the sod over much better.

اريد ان اشتري هذا الجرار/ هل للبيع لوسمحت السعر كام
Scimmers needs lowering a touch
why so deep ?? we only plow 4 inches
6-8 inches where I'm from.4 inches for guys who lack horsepower but want to pull a bigger plow
The tractor doesn't have enough power to go faster and plow that deep
