I know this is going to seem like a really random moment to point out but right after the Yankees took the lead and Castro came up and the crowd started chanting Castro the same way they used to chant Darryl for strawberry gave me goose bumps with how much that sounded like a playoff moment from old Yankee stadium. Not a special moment. Just what you would hear on your TV at any given moment during the game. Glad to see this new stadium get like that. Brought a tear to my eye after all the bashing it has taken and rightfully so since the day it opened in 09. I had reached the point where I thought I’d never hear that sound again at a Home Yankee game. Hopefully this keeps up for years to come with the love affair the fans have with all this homegrown talent.

I haven't heard Yankee Stadium at least the recent stadium sound like that. That friggin place was alive when Sanchez got that double. My god this team reminds me of the 96 team. They had a lights out bullpen just like the current team. They had a young nucleus like the current team and nobody gave them a shot to win at the beginning of the year just like the current team. The only differences were the 96 team had more veterans and they won the division but the current team's record was 91-71 whereas the 96 team was 92-70 so that's another thing that's similar their records are damn near identical. This current team though could do something the 96 didn't do and that is beat two teams in a row with a 100 wins or better to get to the World Series and I don't think any team has done I might have to look that up. One thing is for sure this team is exciting to watch and they are a special team they got something going.

David Netterwald I haven't been this excited about a yankee team since the late 90s. It feels so similar. I missed it throughout the early 2000s. It wasn't the same. @spence Fox is paying MLB for the right to broadcast the games. So Fox would want their own guy calling the games throughout. Otherwise Fox is paying YES for their guys and Fox would pay ATT for the Astros guys. Why would they pay 3 separate parties when they can just pay mlb and broadcast it the way they would like it?
