Here's the deal with the song: listening 80's and 90's female pop singers were Alexi's guilty pleasure. So they had a C-cassette in their tour bus which included Belinda Carlisle, Madonne etc... and of course also Brittney Spears. They had joked about for long of making the cover version, but one day they were in the studio the other guys in the band just insisted Alexi that they will do it right away. So they did
I recall Alexi saying in some interview way back that he always wanted their covers to be "something else". Pretty sure this was farthest from their own genre they ever went.
I remember meeting Alexi Liaho in 2010 at blood stock opener and he was very laid-back and signed some merchandise I’d bought of them and shock my hand. It’s such a shame that he died, but I suppose he was very depressed and alcohol helped him perhaps, but he did seem like he was getting better before he died in terms of his mood.
And in the beginning it seems like aan outtake, because part sounded english and "perkele" is - as far as I remember from my finnish lessons - the finnish equvalent of "fuck" or "shit"
You should check out August Burns Red (American Christian Metalcore band) - thier version of Hit Me Baby One More time. Pretty brutal by the way, but catchy. :)
why becaus britny spears got asked if anyone coverd her song and she actually recorded this with children of bodom this also got alot of problems in the music industry becaus the music company wanted to sue children of bodom for copyright infrigment but they could keep the song up aslong as britny was in it, its also why they never preformed it live
