I’m always so impressed by the Zazu puppeteer, especially during act one. The cardio of this person has to be top-notch. He’s always running around non-stop, whenever he’s on stage!
You know you've got a hell of a show when 25 years later, the audience cheers to a random mouse shadow puppet four minutes in.

In the original movie, that exact dialogue is the point where Mufasa’s tone towards Simba softens. It’s because Simba told Mufasa the whole point of his trip to the Elephant Graveyard- it was only because he wanted to be like his dad. Mufasa, as a loving and understanding father, realises Simba’s point and accordingly softens his tone towards Simba. Hence why I don’t like it when Mufasa actors shout the line at Simba in some productions of the stage musical.
@@AericLee23 I guess that make sense. In my opinion it depends on how the actor screams because sometimes he sounds very desperate while other times he sounds a bit too harsh
The circle of life makes me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME without fail
I really like the mask that the Scar actor has, the way it can move in front of or on top of his face just by a little head movement is neat to me
Mufasa, scar, I believe nala at some point had one like that too.
I've had the broadway show on my bucket list since I was a kid watching the VHS tape with the commercial on it. I'm 30 now, it's just so difficult when it's far + expensive, even when they tour. Thank you for this. I hope I get to see it live some day.

Tell the truth, Bonita J. Hamilton, James Brown-Orleans and Robb Sapp did a great job and a much better job on portraying as Shenzi, Banzai and Ed than Tracy Nicole Chapman, Stanley Wayne Mathis and Kevin Cahoon.

Wow! I like Vinces Acting as Young Simba!
While the original Broadway cast will forever be my favorite I also really like this cast too. One criticism I do have is Fred Berman's lip-syncing with the Timon Puppet was a bit wonky I feel like Max Casella was a lot better with that. Having said that I still really like Fred as Timon
Timon is one of the hardest roles to master in the show. A well-trained Japanese bonraku artist could easily work the puppet, but most Broadway actors aren’t bonraku puppeteers. It’s a real challenge for them to master the role- it’s almost in a league of its own, as is the rest of the Lion King show.
Listen to Shenzi the female hyena’s kinda beautiful female singing voice.
Thank you for having this here I enjoy watching Lion King on Broadway online a lot too I remember getting to see it in Cleveland Playhouse Square in person my cousin he was very nice to get Tickets for me and him I really enjoy A whole lot of The Lion King as number 1 of my Disney childhood is almost everything Lion King I didn't like the 2019 movie remake at all. I am obsessed with original animated Lion King and The Lion King on broadway I dream of getting to see it again someday in person for now I am fine with this way I'm glad it's still on TH-cam Thankfully copyright is not annoying here I can watch and that I care for.
I was lucky enough to see this show twice in college, and I loved it both times. As fantastic as all the movie songs are, my favorites are songs like The Grasslands, The Lioness Hunt, and One by One. That African choir truly sing their hearts out. By the way, that huge reverberating drumbeat that ends The Circle of Life at the start and finish of the show sounds distorted here for a reason. It’s so deep and loud that everyone in the audience can feel it all through their bodies. Thank you so much for preserving this wonderful show!

At 14:21, you will noticed that Scar responded to Simba's question of what would that make him when he is king. But instead of "A monkey's uncle.", he responded to "Irrelevant." In current shows??
And Simba says: “Hahaha, you kill me!“ To Scar responds with: “I wish”
That is because some cast members found the old line a bit insensitive since the actors playing young Simba will sometimes be mostly black or other POC.
@@Raymond-qv4ttholy smokes, that is so sad 🤣 Scar is the *villain* , it should be expected of him to say stuff like that (if the line is even that offensive to begin with). It’s kinda like how they removed the marching hyenas from the remake.
Yeah. It’s because Michael Pollick did much better at portraying as Scar than John Vickery.

So scar couldn’t possibly be saying something racist here.

Morning report chase scene chow down the madness of king scar and the aerial ballet in can u feel the love tonight are shorten since 2010 I prefer the longer one than the shorter version they cut 9 minutes because people got impatient it was 2, hours 45 minutes now it’s 2 hours and 30 minutes shorter I prefer the longer version because I feel like that’s the way it’s suppose to be
They need to bring back to the chow down song where they ask the cubs to stick around for dinner and the Lion dinner jokes like cub sandwich as well as the did we order this dinner to go cause there it goes and the chase scene in the chow down song.
It got removed in 2010 when several cuts were made to the show now it’s gone but u can always watch it on the los angles or London or original broadway productions that he posted and Hamburg also Netherlands but it’s in Dutch and german

I am new in TLK musical but I think to cut the dance duo and the aerial part on CYFTLT was the correct choice. Somehow it slow down the whole thing, and this version is a lot more powerful than the OBC recording.
