Most reviewers don't focus on the lyrics, which is the backbone of a great song. Tatiana always creates great lyrics. Your awesome, man!

I really appreciate it. You can have the best melody in a song but if your lyrics are empty then you have nothing. I hope you have a great day!

The consideration of the lyrics in your reactions is the main reason I subscribed. So many others out there in the reaction world miss so much because of very little or only cursory acknowledgement of the lyrics and song meaning.

When you were talking about the unexpected cadence and delivery of the vocals, and the music not being overly busy or complicated, it shows how each member of this band strained to serve the song, not just their own egos. Despite different genres, I’ve always found Jinjer to be very similar to Tool in the approach and execution of their art. In both bands, the players write the music and present it in completed form to the vocalist, who then writes the lyrics and crafts to vocals to fit the music. It’s also common in both bands for the lyrics to not fit standard rhyme schemes and prose format. That gives the vocalist a lot of room for variety of delivery, cadence, emotion l, etc. Tool, however, plays in a much more defined sonic playground. It’s very exciting to hear a Jinjer song for the first time knowing that it may incorporate multiple musical genres, sonic landscapes, and vocal deliveries. Truly original, fearless, progressive, and infinitely interesting band to me. Enjoy the ride on your Jinjer journey!

What's really amazing to me, is that she can be so powerfully poetic in a second language.

Lyrics... one of the many reasons I love this band. It sets them apart from most other metal bands. Then add a set of stellar musicians then the cherry on top.... Tati's voice. Won this old man over. Going to see them live in November and I can cross it of my bucket list.

That's one thing about great music is that lyrics can mean different things to different people. Or older song lyrics can perfectly fit what is going on today but for different reasons.
    That makes the music immortal.
I believe jinjer is one of those bands.

A lot of Jinjer fans never liked growling vocals until we heard Tatiana do it. Now I hear songs without growls and wish the singer did them haha. This was based on a poem she wrote when she was 16, she's 34 now and it sounds like her mental health struggles were less intense in a print interview she did with Psychology Today in 2018, and since that she's seemed to be moving forward in a lot of areas of her life personally, based on seeming more relaxed and happier in interviews, especially not bristling as much when Eugene steps on her toes in an interview.

Really enjoy your dissection of the lyrics. One more listen then close your eyes and enjoy the music. I'm a 55+ gent that thanks to Covid has spent more time on TH-cam than necessary but one of the great take away is being introduced to Jinjer. Looking forward to seeing them in MPLS this fall

      @@JayEdgar0409 I don't think so, I didn't see any.
In Ukraine it's not necessary. Everybody understanding both Russian and Ukrainian freely but each person prefer one or another language to use. When two people are having conversation, one speaks Russian, another speaks Ukrainian - it's absolutely common situation, nobody needs translation.
But I heard Tatiana's singing in Ukrainian (with one of her previous bands I guess)

I've just started watching your reviews and it's so fulfilling to hear you talk about the lyrics, many only talk about her vocal capabilities or how they change time signature or how amazing the guitar and bass sound and rarely do they mention the lyrics and I think they're missing out on a huge portion of the song that makes it great!!
And Tati also says that the lyrics are a part of her soul so it means alot to her that we know what she's writing.
I don't know if you know yet, but Eugene said that Tati improvised the Macro album, Tati said in an interview with The Charismatic Voice that she likes to improvise and only writes a day before recording. it boggles and amazes me how quick her mind creates these phrases on the go. Great gob at feeling the lyrics sir, now excuse me I'm going to watch another of your analysis ❤️❤️

    • @FalconFlurry

@@JTMMTV Yeah this is it. I mean, in a way it's about a lot of things, and we can always come up with our own interpretations of what lyrics mean, I think Jinjer welcomes that, but at the same time they have always made a point to explain their lyrics somewhere because they (Tatiana especially) believe that it's still important for their fans to know what the intended message of their music is. For this album Eugene went on instagram and explained the meaning of every single song. This one he said is closely related to split/multiple personality disorder. When they go on tour and are away from home for so long sometimes they feel like they start to forget who they are almost like a different person is taking over their soul. Tatiana describes this poetically like multiple personalities struggling for her consciousness, leaving her struggling to escape from the darkness.

    "In my head someone else
    Setting snares for my soul."
These lines have their own psychological meaning, hidden from the listeners and Tatiana herself, and this is very interesting. Tati, as an ethical person, has a psychotype that makes her largely depend on logical explanations. This is also the reason that she is poorly versed in politics, which she mentioned herself. So any logical point of view meets with little resistance from her, since she herself finds it difficult to evaluate those points. So it causes the feeling that other people, with their own opinions, are trying to set their meanings like snares in her head.
It's so exciting to see how she is able to feel it the right way without any psychological knowledge (and I know it because she thinks she's introvert but she's not).

It is a mixture of both. I prefer to see the live performance and the crowd response while understanding the lyrics. Then I like to watch the official music video to see if they tell the story behind the lyrics or a different route. Personal preference
