    I love it. What a great video George. I know this is just for educational purposes, but it will be cool to see what happens. Keep us up to date every few days. Thanks😎

    George, I am glad you did this and as you said this will be a practice run. I wish you nothing but success my friend.

    Glad to see you finally got these two moved into a breeder tank. Good luck. It will be interesting as you said in the video to see what offspring they produce. I know you said this was practice, but I have seen some pretty awesome babies come out of a strange combo.

    I am almost as excited as you are about watching this process. When do you think the spawn will happen again? I have seen mine spawn about 15-25 times in several weeks about every 6-10 days. Are you using R.O. water?

    Two awesome looking fish. Hopefully their offspring will come out as beautiful as them.
    Good luck🤞✌️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🐙

    Do you think these will produce anything worth keeping or just fish you will give to your TH-cam friends? hint hint lol🐟

    As I said in the video, These two are not a pair I would ever breed other than for practice. Likely the colors will not be quality, but then again nature has a way of fooling us. This will be part 1 of a 4-part series on the breeding process from start to finish.

    Can I put floating plants in the aquarium like hornwort?

      @@AEcclesiates plants in a breeding Discus tank? If that is what you are asking I can’t really speak to that. I have no history of floating plants in breeding tank setups.

      @@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto okay thanks I just thought it would make them more comfy but like you say I have never seen it been done in a breeding tank either.

      @@AEcclesiates you can try anything… perhaps you are on to something? The worst that could happen is you need to remove them.

      @@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto It all ended in me not buying discus because of financial problems of the pet store. I did some research and some people use pothos in tanks because you can stick the roots in and keep the plants outside the tank. The main reason was because of the substrate but I still think it is weird nobody uses hornwort. Maybe it is ugly. But thanks for the help!

    Can you keep one in a 20 gallon?

    • @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
      @aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would never recommend that you keep a single Discus or even a pair long term in a 20 gallon tank. Discus are very social fish and need a higher achy structure to thrive. I even give my breeding pairs a break from time to time and reintroduce them to a community Discus tank.

      They did not do well. I put a short out about them a few months back that all but 7 died and that seven was not a good 👀 look. My son tried to raise them but they all died. It was just a experiment and I was told by a breeder that they would likely not survive or look like anything you would want to keep. I have two new matching pairs and setting up now for real breeding. I will keep you updated.
