- Mafia III: Faster, Baby! is one of the three DLCs released for the Mafia III. It brings a new law enforcement agency to the game but is it any good than the base game's New Bordeaux police? Well... Find out.

OKAY LET ME CLEAR THIS UP. SINCLAIR COUNTY IS A RACIST PLACE SET IN 1968. THE REASON THEIR POLICING SYSTE IS SO SCREWED UP IS BECAUSE THEY ARE RACIST ENOUGH TO GIVE CHASE IF THEY EVEN SEE YOU. IS THAT CLEAR?
I like how in this dlc Lincoln uses his lethal attacks so he cuts and snaps their necks
I guess they were just focusing on finishing the story mode instead of tje gameplay

Only in rich neighborhoods if you're in a poor area of the city like delray hollow it will take them ages to respond since they'res mostly colored people in the hollow so they don't really care

Well, I am not surprised that there is little difference from the normal police but look on the bright side, if you want to drive a cop car without trouble, you can. Say, if the police in the Mafia 1 remake is different, will you make a police analysis for that? Or for Watch Dogs legions when it comes out? Also, ever heard of a game called "The saboteur?"

@@Thekillergreece Looking forward to it! The saboteur, just thought could be interesting for you, given how the "wanted system ha a few unique aspects. Or ever thought about analyzing the police of Saints Row?
Anyway, I loved Mafia 1 and 2s police for the fact they are fairer than GTA police, giving you a ticket instead of arresting for minor things. And Its actually a nice detail both police and Sheriff in Mafia 3 back off when leaving their sectors, instead of chasing you anywhere as cops in GTA SA and V do.
The chart that teaches you about New Bordeaux police when you first get into the game actually mentions that the cops will chase you for breaking traffic laws. And a system that monitors your behavior on the road is also implemented if you do the "tailing" side-missions, where there is a bar on the top that tells you when you ran a red light or broke the speed limit. I believe they wanted to do it similar to the previous Mafia games but having the police more aggressive due to the racial tension, but in the end they didnt have time to properly script the cops to demand those rules and just scrapped it.
I've read many developers comment on how they had many amazing features planned or even implemented into the game, but had to cut them, because PlayTesters were exploiting it or it was just too buggy and they didnt have enough time to fix it, so they had to cut it.
I mean, they even have a "police is watching you" system in the game and it serves literally no purpose, I think it was indeed meant to notify you to slow down or stop at red light because if you broke the law the cop would alert others about an reckless driver.
@@ternet1859 I heard of that. But from the bright side, it's more realistic that you can either escape the search zone or stay hidden until they call it off, similar to the first Watch Dogs, unlike GTA 4, where escaping is the only option
@@jessiegunther1079 Yea thats one of the things that are nice. I just wanted to bring in more of the "Hangar13 didnt have time, and later on motivation to make the NBPD more indepth" instead of just "Hangar13 sucks ass and the next game will suck too" :D
We'll see how the remake turns out but so far, it seems quite positive, we'll get more info on 6th of June and then we'll see the game itself so maybe they've learnt what the target audience for Mafia is? who knows. Just got Mafia III a week ago and seeing how bad the police is, at the same time as learning about the development and the references in the main game about a more indepth system, which make me believe maybe if the development isnt so messy as III's we could be pleasantly surprised.

Lincoln entered a different jurisdiction, why they don't contact NBPD, don't ask me why, but they won't let you have sheriffs contact city police.
Police in Mafia 3 were disappointing to say the least. I really wanted something more from the police especially as we were playing as a black character. The Faster Baby DLC was probably the most disappointing. The sheriff department could have been so much better, like a survival challenge I guess. And they could have added something with the civilians calling the deputies just because of the race of the player but unfortunately Mafia 3 as a whole can be summarized into one word, “incomplete”.

@@CT_Phipps only a fool believes that police went on a full on war every single time you just happen to walk passed them. It was bad in the 60s but nothing like how they portray it.
To be honest. I liked the AI in Mafia II better than Mafia III because if you misbehaved in front of the cops with Vito. They would fine you at first and then if more serious. Only then they would try to arrest you and only if you resisted arrest or killed someone in the game. They would take you out as a last resort. I am not sorry to say this but the cops in Mafia III even on the base game are just another gang but with cop cars and badges. They try to kill you if you even break the speed limit which would not happen in the real world unless the suspect shot at them first. Mafia III sucks to be honest when it comes to cop AI and the reason I still have the game is because I like all the cars and the missions are pretty fun too.
Granted, the cops acting like just another gang fits the setting pretty well
Well, I don't mind the A.I in Mafia III since they are supposed to be super racist back then so they won't bother to deal with Lincoln as any other race since he is Black. Although it kinda feels comical since they will just go straight shooting at you even at the most minor crimes. 😅😂

It has its flaws, sure. It's far from perfect, both the base game and all of its DLCs, but I still love it. It's not in my top 3, but definitely in my personal top 10 of favorite games.

I thought having racist cops would be interest in but I beat all the missions imeadietly and never saw the cops again so waste of money really although if you ever wanted to act like a cop wear the heist guard outfit and you can drive the Sinclair police cars in the normal city without getting a wanted level
