  • 20 VARIED VINTAGE & ANTIQUE SPECIALS | EBAY LIVE HAUL LISTINGS
    👇👇👇 Links to individual items are below!
    I put aside 20 premium vintage pieces each month to show my Level 2 members as I list them live for sale on eBay! Now everyone gets to see, shop and follow along while everything from jewelry to militaria makes its appearance in this live haul/listing video.
    From a Fenton custard (“uranium”) glass bird to a 1907 pencil sharpener, these are fun and interesting collectibles for a variety of collectors. The American made piggy bank that looks like Hitler, the astoundingly big blue topaz, even belt buckles from the 1880s and 1980s all have a story to be told…and we do talk story about each item as we present the link to its eBay listing.
    It’s really fun to make things you see in my hauls and shows available to you to peruse and check out what the market thinks of them as they go to auction! Whether it’s a Red Squeeze or a savage item from American Hoes, we have fun together learning and loving all this cool old stuff…and you can follow the links in the description to follow their progress.

    Great items, George! I'm of the mind that the swastika has many meanings to many different people. It was, originally, a good luck symbol. The Nazis corrupted that, and it is now more recognised as something that represents a horror. The thing about the horror the Nazi usage represents is that it should be remembered, to prevent history from repeating itself. Censoring those memories can have future results of dire consequences.
    I really like that "Old Salt" bottle opener! I wish I had room for something else... That pencil sharpener is fascinating! I never knew any were made that sharpened like taking a knife to a pencil. I'm not much of a compact person, but the colours and design on that one are fantastic. I'm so happy you made the point of not polishing the old brass! There's a lot of value in that old patina. Love that Japanese pop-up cover/envelope! I've never been an ephemera/paper items collector, but that piece is fantastic! I have some Japanese silk paintings my uncle brought back from WWII, but nothing in paper. Thanks for sharing all these items!!!

    OMG! WOW! Your pieces are just AMAZING George. I just about lost it when you showed the PIGGY BANK!! I studied WW2 in College and it was very intense. We basically studied individuals such as Hitler and Himmler. Your the BEST GEORGE. Never change.

    Sorry I missed this live. The Hitler piggy bank is fascinating. I totally understand the issues concerning memorabilia from parts of history that people find troubling. Fundamentally I believe that history must be remember or we run the risk of repeating it. ( paraphrasing George Santayana) To me, items representative of these times should be preserved. There is a vast difference between an historical item, and these symbols being "used" in present day. A contemporaneous Nazi or Confederate flag is historically important. A person waving such flags totally unacceptable. T

    I love looking at old coins! I have some large cents from the 1700s, dimes from early 1800s, half dimes, 2-cent pieces, and even have a dollar imprinted “Hawaii”. I feel like I’m holding history in my hands when I look at them.

    I agree with you about history, but am frustrated with the attitude towards the Swastica... for centuries before the Nazi regime that symbol was used by multiple cultures as a good luck symbol! So having that symbol on something doesn’t necessarily make it a Nazi piece!

    • @kathysemrau2301
      @kathysemrau2301 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for your text Jan Vafa! Hitler was an Art student and a vegetarian before he became a nut bomb. Why that symbol was picked, we will never know. But the Swastica became a symbol of hate because of that man. That piggy bank was kinda a positive thing to stop the war.

      Thank you for highlighting my comment. Also a the BBC reporter who did the piece of borst being a Polish food of comfort. So much from the time of WW2 still is a part of our culture today. I want to see this world, but how ? The reporter was so kind,and made me actually want to try borst. Well George you get to see this country, and find all these wonderful things. Well thank you again for highlighting my comment. 🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹🍀💜🌼🦋🌹

    Do you have homes in Florida, Washington and Kentucky? Necklaces look just fine next to those hardworking man hands. Do not put George down! I won't put up with that!! Lol. Thanks for your teaching, and have learned so much from you! Unfortunately that doesn't make me sell more on eBay. But things are looking up. I made all my stuff very cheap! Something is better than nothing.
