Some advice based on your questions/struggles: 1. The Wii version did have motion controls, just not to throw Pikmin. That would be annoying to physically throw hundreds of Pikmin lol. The motion basically lets you aim the cursor of where to throw with the Joy-Con to be more accurate which people usually prefer more. 2. Nectar can be consumed all by a single Pikmin which wastes Nectar. It's more efficient to let a whole group of Pikmin to consume the nectar so they all will be stronger instead of a few. 3. If a Pikmin carries a Pellet that matches their color, it will produce more Pikmin of that color when it gets carried to their Onion. Any color Pikmin can carry any color Pellet though carrying the same colored one will prove more fruitful. 4. You don't have to put all your Pikmin in their onions at the end of day to keep them safe. As long as they are in your squad under your command or near their Onions then they will be safe. Though you can still manually call them back to their Onions if you choose to. You also don't have to be under your ship to be safe. You just have to wait it out or press pause then press End Day to skip to the end of the day if your Pikmin is already safe. 58:33 My jaw dropped when you started throwing all your Pikmin over the wall lol. I was sure that you would lose all those thrown Pikmin. But I guess they were close enough to the landing site to be safe at the end of the day. Hope you play more.
The other part in the crash site is a trick, you can't get it until the end of the game because you need all types of pikmin. It is a common trap new players fall for.
The fact that for a few months my recommended has been flooded with people playing these games for the first time in 2023 and u still think we need more content is amazing I don't look up pikmin stuff much btw
@@jethiliusavalar6449 You’re exaggerating heavily big guy. First of all this comment was posted a month and a half ago before a lot of people started playing the games because of Pikmin 4, but also you were not being recommended Pikmin content the last few months, maybe the last few weeks but as someone who did look up Pikmin content quite frequently, for the longest the only let’s play’s of the game were from people who didn’t even know how to make a thumbnail, had shitty mics and only got like 12 views. It’s about time we got NEW Pikmin content, and I’m glad that’s now somewhat happening.
It is always entertaining to see new players to the Pikmin series! But, here are some tips that I havent seen from other comments. 1. The Impact Site, outside of the one ship part on the other side of that one wall, is mainly used to gather your Pikmin numbers. Due to the large pellets and nectar spots. So if, in the future you arent too sure about your army, just spend a day there to raise them. 2. If at any point you think you need to optimize your parts per day, you can go to previous days on the file select screen by pressing + or -. 3. Not really a tip but it was amazing that you killed your first Bulborb (the big beetle things) without any deaths. Those guys usually decimate Pikmin numbers. Especially in the first game. 4. As for the yellow Pikmin, in the first game they can be thrown higher than others, as well as being able to hold those rocks you've been finding. 5. Also, something very important about the first game in particular. The Pikmin are VERY DUMB. They will pick stuff up that you didnt want them to, they will fall off of ledges too easily, and they trip way too often. Hope these tips help, and I'm looking forward to part 2!
A little tip, the more pikmin you put on a task the faster it gets completed. this also goes for carrying things back to the onion/ship, altough there is a limit to how many pikmin can carry something depending on how big it is
1:08:00 Btw, any pikmin following you are safe. You didn't need to sacrifice that poor pikmin to the wild lol. Edit: also, those pikmin were luckily close enough to "base" that they automatically board at night. You only need to worry about pikmin far away from the ships and onions

The motion controls allow you to control the pointer, but for the switch ports they made it only do that while pressing A or B. It's seemingly intended more for fine adjustments than it being 100% motion controlled like the wii remote allowed
Luckily the reds you threw behind the stone gate were considered in your base on sundown, hence why they were in the end of day cutscene, those two unfortunate leaf pikmin though may have gotten caught on something and auto disbanded when you got too far away. For the rules of sundown any pikmin not within the safety of the base, or in your squad will not be able to reach the onion and will get left behind to be eaten. The yellow onion and the subsequent blue onion also provide these safe zones until they lift off and will join you in the base. So if sundown is near best to hover around anything your pikmin are carrying or working on. one of the ship parts makes it easier to track them too along with seeing map topography with ship part locations. -As for another few tips with pikmin manipulation, holding the left bumper and using the right stick will allow you to control the pikmin in your squad more directly, a little horn jingle plays. While in this swarm mode pikmin will pickup or attack anything they collide with, easier to set large groups onto a single task or target. -Disbanding a squad next to a task object like a carriable or wall like the wooden ones will also set them to do said task, while in their pale idle stats they will actively try to perform a task if it's in range. -Each enemy is very unique and require somewhat different approaches the large red spotty bulborb can be dealt with easily either by swarming or throwing at it from behind, a large enough swarm on it's backside can quickly take it out before it even has time to shake them off or eat a straggler. enemies in this game in particular that eat pikmin also get invincibility frames when eating, barring the dwarf bulborbs. hence why the big one was able to eat so many before falling, its best to take a second to study your enemy before charging in as some of them can be absolutely devastating if approached from head on. Wollywogs(wollyhops if you're playing the european version) and the armored cannon beetle can wipe a squad easily. -Lastly, and this is mostly a small detail any place where large numbers of pikmin fall in battle will result in the possibility of new sprouts being in the place of the battle. it's not a great chance and the recovery isn't one to one, but keep an eye out for them where you lost a lot to enemies, mainly cause they affect the pikmin in the field count.

@@Ganvious pikmin 1 so far seems to update some models (mainly the hub models), sounds, and carry over a few minor changes from wii edition. Originally, the Onion sprouting seeds go brrr every seed rapidly, as to now it behaves like 2 n 3. The souls also are ported from the wii port where as the original first game made all dying ghosts blue, not the wierd purple haze. However sadly all the product placements and even the easter egg song were removed in the pikmin 2 port. The original included a famoclone game, regional batteries (Duracell for the west), skippy PB, Vlassic pickles, so on and so forth. Also in the og you could not rotate the camera, only swap to behind olimar, as the C stick could only swarm pikmin In the first, throne bombrs would drop rhe bomb is whistled instead of touched and large enemies would randomly glitch crush random amounts of carrot bois. So while the modern port is definitive, the older had that tiny bit o extra charm
"It's really weird to me how Nintendo didn't remaster this game. They just ported over, made it HD." ...making it HD IS remastering it...That's what a remaster is. Obviously Pikmin 4 looks better. It's a newer game. If you remaster a Gamecube game it's still gonna look worse than a new game because it's still Gamecube graphics, just sharpened up. A remaster of Crash Bandicoot for instance would still have it look like a jaggedy polygonal mess compared to the remakes they did of those games.

However sadly all the product placements and even the easter egg song were removed in the pikmin 2 port. The original included a famoclone game, regional batteries (Duracell for the west), skippy PB, Vlassic pickles, so on and so forth.
Also in the og you could not rotate the camera, only swap to behind olimar, as the C stick could only swarm pikmin
In the first, throne bombrs would drop rhe bomb is whistled instead of touched and large enemies would randomly glitch crush random amounts of carrot bois. So while the modern port is definitive, the older had that tiny bit o extra charm
I don’t know if someone’s already told you this but fyi Olimar actually has a really deep voice
I’ve heard! I can’t wait to hear him speak. 😂
"It's really weird to me how Nintendo didn't remaster this game. They just ported over, made it HD."
...making it HD IS remastering it...That's what a remaster is.
That’s fair, however Nintendo remastered Metroid Prime, so it’s weird to me how they didn’t remaster Pikmin 1&2 in the Pikmin 3 engine, y’know?
@@Ganvious I guess that makes some sense to think they might do that after how they handled Prime's one.
@@edward18517 Yeah, that was kinda where I was coming from, but nevertheless it’s cool that this gives me the opportunity to finally experience all the Pikmin games for the first time. Thanks again for the comment and hope to see you around. 👍
Yes yes
I finished this game just tonight for my second time ever. Took me 24 days, and 600+ pikmin lost to get all 30 parts hahaha
DANG!!!
@@Ganvious I'm not good at it but it's so fun. Now to play Pikmin 2!
@@NintendoManiaDoesn't matter how much you lost, because you did great and won in the end! (:
Was the first time that you beat Pikmin a long time ago or did you beat the game back to back times?
@lukers9819 I beat the first game back in February for the first time then I did it again when it came out on switch last month haha
@@NintendoMania Nice! I find Pikmin 1 in particular to be a very replayable game because it is just so short. Not a huge time commitment to play it again and try to improve a little.
Hope that you enjoy Pikmin 2 as well!
I'm not a human I'm a hocotation
58:38 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Bros olimar impression is so weird lol
I thought Olimar was a nerdy kid or something, but apparently the man has a family and has a VERY deep voice. 💀

“This is an adorable little game right?”
*FAMOUS LAST WORDS*
Ur character is not a human olimar is an alien from a tiny plant compare to this planet
OHHH now that makes sense!
@@Ganvious yeah ppl think that the plant ur on now is actually earth when humans either went extinct or they left earth behind with everything there thats why olimar says its made of toxic oxygen so his alien species can't breath oxygen
@@Ganvious yeah and im sure you figured this out by now but the planet he crash lands on is earth
