Being reminded how janky the pathfinding was in Pikmin 1 has me appreciating that it was pretty much entirely fixed in Pikmin 4
It was so fixed in 4 at the cost of Winged Pikmin's uses
There are barely any instances where Winged Pikmin can take shortcuts so it is usually much more effective to use White Pikmin
Only time you'd really use them is if you don't want to fight enemies in the water so you can transport with Blues or Oatchi

Its just too bad that pikmin 4 is baby game lol its way too easy. I'm extremely happy that 4 did well but they need to make the next game more like pikmin 2 or something, at the very least more like pikmin 3
(And abandon oatchi, completely ruins the balance of the game. Multiple captains was so much more enjoyable)

That burrowing snagret area with the small bits of water kills way too many pikmin for every player.
As a kid, I thought the Snagrets were the threat. As an adult, I have learned that the tiny ass walkway is the real threat.

This is very nostalgic reminding me of yee old days playing Pikmin for the first time, and it's fun watching Laimu's initial reactions to each thing the game throws her way too. It shall be fun if there's a part 2 and/or Pikmin 2 and 3 eventually 😺
Grew up with a lot of GameCube games, and for some reason every time I see “onion” in bold-colored font I can’t help but hear the spider sound-byte from the Madagascar game. Weird tangent aside, happy you’re giving the series a chance. It’s strangely addictive and it will make you go through so many emotions over those little carrot turds. Keep up the Dandori, your mastery is at hand!

idk how far you are into pikmin 1 but please for the love of pikmin, use the right stick to bunch up your group when walking thru small spaces.thats how you keep them from falling off.

I love seeing people play pikmin for the first time. Also, pikmin 1's pathfinding was even worse then I remember. Glad that even Pikmin 2 made it so much better so if you still want to see more from the series, try out the other titles. 2 and 4 are the most enjoyable imo.

Besides that, this was pretty good for someone's first playthrough. I'm especially impressed you figured out the armored cannon beetle on your own!

Just wait until you get to Pikmin 4... that game is built around the Japanese concept of Dandori meaning "efficient planning". The game really tests your efficiency and makes you push yourself to the limit on how well you can plan out your choices.
