Great reaction! Two months have passed since what happened in 6x9. All Jesse did was open Rick’s heart up to the idea of connecting and share a few kisses other than him protecting her. The writers said Michonne was always meant for Rick and Carl. I always saw the moments and chemistry throughout the seasons and knew they would get there. It was built on trust, friendship and respect over time.
Funny how some people want to downgrade Richonne's relationship because of the fact that Rick was with Jessie before (even though Rick never fell in love with her and just let his trauma with Lori go on Jessie), but they didn't say the same thing about what Rick was with Jessie before he was with Andrea in the comic, and in the comic Rick advances much more with Jessie, I miss the problem that some have with Michonne
I’m gonna be honest, that feels like an excuse. It’s far more likely that it’s because the actress for Jesse just took another role and ditched the show and they had to choose the next potential option to not let that plotline go to waste.
@giboit. Rick and Michonne were planned since season 3. Jesse was always gonna be temporary. She served the purpose of opening up Rick. The woman that played Jesse tried to stay on the show longer, but the show did not change her fate. Andrew Lincoln couldn't wait to get finished with the Jessie storyline, it was not his favorite. He frequently campaigned for Rick and Michonne to get together.
The way they had to separate Michonne and Rick when they got to Alexandria just to make Rick and Jessie believable. From the second the TV Show wrote off Andrea, it was clear who he had the most chemistry with. Rick and Michonne going from "trade her to the Governor" to Lovers happened very naturally There was a time skip between Jessie's death and Michonne and Rick getting together, about two months. Rick had some time to process things and gain back a sense of humor.
@AlexandriaVirginia-s9t it was more believable in the comics because he gets with Andrea, not Michonne. Andrea had her PTSD from losing Dale and the Kids still and was barely flirting with Spencer. She had her own thing going on while Rick was with Jessie. They both bonded over the losses of their loved ones, their partners and children (as Rick had lost Judith too). That's why they get together, because they've both lost a lot. They Trauma Bonded and Rick kept trying to push Andrea away at the start. He didn't want to allow himself to fall in love again, especially not with his longest surviving adult companion. He didn't want to lose her too. This push and pull happened for a while before Rick finally gave in. However, we don't even get to see the aftermath of losing Jessie like we do in the comics. We pick up immediately after the Walker attack on Alexandria in the comics. Abraham actually puts down a Zombified Jessie so Rick wouldn't see her like that. We jump right into Rick and Michonne, who have bonded over different reasons than Rick and Andrea did.
@@onetallpheeeshRick and Michonne got together for the same reasons lol, or at least similar, Rick and Michonne had losses and went through hell together, as they said they fell in love unconsciously because they didn't have time for love and Rick still had the trauma of not saving Lori , except that on the show Rick cared less about Jessie
@@Hoshelin yeah, but it wasn't at the forefront of their storylines in the TV Show when they got together like it was in the comics. Michonne and Rick mostly bonded over Carl and Survival, and less on their trauma. They both had survived hardships together but neither one were around the other when their original partners died. Rick and Andrea both experienced the losses of Amy, Lori, Judith, Dale, Ben, Billy, Jessie, and Ron together, first hand experience. Michonne came into the picture AFTER Rick lost Lori in the show. Similar yes, but different motivations. Michonne was closest with Carl in the TV Show and through their mutual love of Carl, they fell in love. Michonne knew once Rick had a gun pointed at him and Carl was shot in the face that she loved them both that deeply. Andrea didn't have that with Rick. She chose to love Rick after all they went through from Day 1. Michonne had to realize it. Carl had to flat out tell her that he views her as a Motherly figure when explaining why he didn't put down Deanna. Carl would also see Andrea as a mother eventually, but it was different because Carl had killed her son and kept it secret. Very very different circumstances.

Fun Fact : Invincible The comic book that Carl was reading is a comic written by Robert Kirkman who also writes The Walking Dead comics and executive producer of the show/TWD creator. Comic Comparisons : The only change to Jesus is his last name which in the comics is Paul Monroe sharing a last name with the Douglass family (which is Deanna’s comic counterpart) It was changed to Paul Rovia in the show so people wouldn’t think that Jesus was Spencer’s brother.
Now you see Morgan was kinda right about not killing the Wolf guy Owen I let that Wolf live and he helped Denise and she saved Carl but I know a lot of people say Denise wouldn’t be in any harm if Morgan didn’t stop Carol that is true but think about it Rick would of got to the doctors house and there would be no Denise so Carl would of died if not for Morgan stopping Carol
Hello 👋 Another awesome video, 👍👍 My only ‘what the h***’ moment was why Rick parked the van/truck on a hill next to a lake in the first place, 🤔😏 Loved meeting Paul (Jesus) Rovia, first time seeing this episode I liked him, he’s great, 👍😀 I was waiting for Rick and Michonne from the first moment they met, my youngest Son was surprised (but could not say anything without spoiling it) I called it that early, when Rick showed interest in Jesse, I was bummed and thought I had been wrong, glad I was not, 👍😁
