It is expected. Hakuryuu's strongest slot is the weakest type of slots. If it was Torpedo Bombers instead, Amagi would have much much more hard time to powercreep Haku.
Haku is still strong, it's just that now she has a different niche, back then we don't have much options for offensive CVs against heavy armors, now that we have more new UR CVs, each CVs has their own niche and specializations, which is nice and i wouldn't say that she's powercrept, she's still strong in her own niche. Shinano and Amagi for Torp DPS, Haku for DB DPS, YKTN II and Nakhimov for Light/medium armors, and Implacable for time stop support. It's nice that we have more options so ppl who missed certain UR CVs wouldn't be that sad bcs they have to wait for a long time just for a rerun
And besides, Haku was based on WoWs Hakuryuu where she's actually is specialized in DBs (she has the strongest DB dmg in the game iirc, and the only one who carries highly accurate AP bombs)
Honestly, I underestimated her a little because parts of her skills feel like missed opportunities. Why does she have a burn buff when she's going to be in a CV fleet? Why can't we have an easier way of getting her pseudo-preload airstrike rather than needing to pair with the extremely outdated foxes? Why does her self damage buff require enemies to be so far away to be maxed out? Why waste "power budget" on less impactful features? And of course having only 8 planes despite the higher efficiencies felt odd for a UR. I guessed correctly that her own damage wouldn't be super spectacular for a UR (she barely beats a 3 year old CV) but I underestimated her buffing torp damage for the ENTIRE fleet, and that includes DPM vanguards like Shima and Unzen on top of buffing torp bombers. Despite Nakhimov having higher personal DPM, in the right fleet, Amagi CV could be a net DPM gain.
@@JimmyAL I do not have Implacable, since I started at the beginning of this year. What is the next best ship to use for slowing down enemies? I was originally thinking using Soyuz.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but... Implacable and Nahkimov seem like the best individual CVs in a vacuum, but... Amagi, Hakuryuu, and Shinano are probably going to be the go-to fleet because of synergies.
@@bummm7065 In theory yes. The problem is that neither Haku nor Amagi CV have a slow, so that makes Implacable (or other slow/freeze ships) a must since bosses will move in almost any situation. Shinano is also a must since she buffs IJN CVs - she's too important to drop. That leaves Haku and Amagi CV competing for the 3rd spot in the backline, which is why they're being compared. They're both DPM ships and DPM/DPS units are almost always the first to be powercrept in games.
Lol Haku is a joke, you have to work harder to get her than Amagi, I only spend 10 pulls to get Amagi, while I need to waste thousands of my precious oil just for inferior amagi lol
