Thanks so much for supporting the channel! It’s very much appreciated. Will never forget hearing waltz 2 for the first time. The drums and acoustic guitar intro. Magic!
I don't get why every super shoe has to be "versatile" and great for any distance. I'm so glad adidas have made this iteration a bit firmer and definitely more stable with a clear focus on the marathon distance. I ran my best sub-3 marathon in the Adios Pro 3 last year in Berlin and the shoes felt just great. I loved them. It was really easy to lock into marathon pace and keep it consistent for a large portion of the race. I didn't even have to think about it. Yes, the midsole is a little less exciting in direct comparison with shoes like the Metaspeed Sky+ or the Vaporfly but those shoes don't really work for me in a marathon. They may be fine for really fast (sub 2:30) runners with perfect running form but being a sub-3 marathoner, I find them too spongy, wobbly and simply too uncomfortable over that distance. For 10Ks and half marathons it's a whole different story: there I want that aggressiveness and don't care for stability because those races are short. So would always go for the Vaporfly in a 10K, for example. But for the marathon (and only for the marathon), the Adios Pro 3 is my go-to choice now.
Adored my Pro 3’s so much that I recently bought a 2nd more winter-friendly colourway! The first Adidas running shoes I’ve ever ran in though so probably a little biased here but I adore them. Take a bit of bedding in as you say, but really fun once you get moving ☺️
At below 10k though the others seem to work better for me. The classic v1 is my fav still though! I hated the original at first but it has the 2 fastest times for me over 10k and half marathon
Just used my pro 2s this week and I agree with everything you said edd. The 3s are better at half marathon distance, they're more stable for me than the 2s. Great video again edd, keep it up. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Yeah,1 shoetuber in particular will have 1 run in them, run at a pace where the shoe is not designed for, then give the shoe a horrible review. Appreciate the time and effort of a 100 mile review
I got mine for £138 delivered recently. I didn’t really need them but couldn’t resist….So far - so good after 2 x runs. I took them on a club speed session and very impressed. My paces right up there and legs great the next day 😊. I had V2 also - after lots of PB’s and not a massive mileage I had a bad run in the summer with an end rod causing my foot / toe a few problems. It could have been a isolated 30 + deg C heat thing, not sure but moved them on.

I ended up buying flat elastic laces from Amazon and that helped quite a bit with the lockdown. I agree with the tongue- not sure why so thin. Hopefully version Pro 4 fixes those issues.
@@EDDBUD yeah, it helps solves a part of the problem. If Adidas had used a slightly thicker, gusseted tongue then a big difference in that lockdown 😎👍🏾
I love the Pro 2 as a 5k / 10k shoe, yes it's a tad unstable in the heel, but at tempo I find it super aggressive! 5 and 10k pb's set in the Pro 2, didn't manage that in my Sen 8s and I love those as well!
Hi Edd. Thx for the video. I ran a 3:16 marathon in my 3s last Sunday. Midsole response and stable ride made it a very pleasant journey, especially during those tough last few kms. On the other hand, you need to be a Rocket Scientist to get the lacing right! In an attempt to release pressure on the top of my foot(super thin tongue), I released the laces a bit too much and ended up developing 4 painfull blisters on my toes.
I believe the elastic lace loops at the front are meant to allow the forefoot area of the upper to expand and contract as your toes splay on toe-off. Great for wider feet, less functional for narrow.
I've found the medial stability to vary a lot by size. 10.5 was too unstable at the heel, but 10 was really great. It feels a lot more nimble compared to alphafly and endorphin pro 3 for me because I have more control through medial stability and grip. I've never experienced that much difference between sizes before. The 10.5 was my least favourite of them all, but the 10 is probably my favourite of them all.
Just got a pair for €150(£130) to France from 21run. I only managed 50km in my alphafly before sending them back to nike. Can't wait to see how these go.
I have no complains on my pair, i used for 3k trial and 5k trial and worked very well and for a 20 k at marathon pace , all excellent the only minor problem is the tongue to thin and need some adjust to lace correctly.
I picked up a pair on ebay for a steal. They certainly arent as aggressive feeling as the Pro2. I'll probably just end up using them for speed/tempo days.
@@petermyerscough5211 Or maybe like I did, spend half a year relearn how to properly run. It ain't fun but worth it. My forefoot strike is now perfect and my shoes don't wear out sideways.
I’ve exactly the same dilemma as you Edd re Marathon shoe of choice. I think the Addidas pro 3 has a great outsole and love the feel of the foam but not sure about the shoe as a whole. Vaporfly is amazing especially for shorter fast races. Not convinced it would be perfect for 26.2 miles. Im currently edging towards the Endophin pro 3. But it’s close. Still a good few weeks left before Brighton to make the final decision.
I’ve found the same issues with the lacing, especially right at the top and have also been trying socks with more padding on the top to help out. Other than that, I love my Pro 2’s and 3’s so snappy and fun.
I recently got a pair on discount. Love the responsiveness. My one concern is that from the very beginning when i tried the shoes on, the left one was making a clicking sound with every step. Then I went for a 10k run and the noise increased. Now it isn't just a click, but also a squeaky sound with each step. Has someone else experienced the same? Some redditors suggest that a rod might be broken. That would be such a shame as I literally used the shoe once for that 10k. The performance isnt compromised at all as far as I know. It is just the annoying sound
Bought the Pro 2 recently on discount, but managing an injury at the moment so none of the fast stuff for me 😣Rodney bought me some pineapple tasting oranges though!🍊

I think the biggest issue with Adios Pro 3 is that there is too much room/upper material in the toe box. Wide feet runners will probably like it that way but for regular width runners it leads to sloppy toeoff as the lacing is not helping either.
I have two pair, picked up during the 50% off sale directly through Adidas for $125. Same color way as yours. Only using one pair at the moment and have 72 miles in them. Wear is pretty much non existent, and they just keep getting better and better as I rack up the miles. I love them for training but would still defer to my Alphafly and Vaporflys on marathon/half marathon race day and maybe the Takumi Sen for a 5K.
Hi Edd great review so I might stay away from this. I have an option to buy the Adizero Adios 7 for €64 or the Takumi Sen 8 for €96. I have the Adios 6, newish, on your recommendation which are brilliant. Are the Adios 7s much better or should I go for the Takumi Sen 8? It'll be the most I ever paid for a runner.
Two comments. I've been using the Takumi Sen 8 for all my races and I much prefer it to the Adios Pro 2. The Pro 2 for me is just too much foam. I'll probably run Boston this year in either the Takumi 8 or 9. 2nd, I notice you re-laced the Pro 3 with an under/over lacing on the top. All the Adidas shoes I get are laced Over/under, which is the only brand I have like that.
adidas makes odd decisions in some cases (like those crazy lace loops) and sensible decisions (like tuning the super shoes to distance use). It will be nice to see them avoid the senseless decisions and double down on the sensible decisions. ✌🏽💙👟
I had the same issue after about 8 miles of steady paced running which is why I only used it for 1 marathon. I absolutely loved it as a workout shoe. The 2 was so alive.
I get the same in all the adidas adios pro shoes including the primeX..always before 9mi but usually around 6-8mi..I have suspected it's the ends of the rods..
I've also decided the Adios Pro 2 is the better shoe and I decided to use it over the 3 for my first race in a decade for this Saturday. Definitely faster shoe. The 3 is nice but a few issues 1)the well discussed issues with the upper and 2)the midsole is a bit too squishy. The Pro 2 midsole is more responsive. I have the same gripe with the Endorphin Pro 3 - midsole far too mushy and the plate not rigid and aggressive enough. I may be a weirdo though as I'm 6'4 amd 175 and soft midsoles just feel dead to me and I have to have a perfectly rigid aggressively curved plate - I have bilateral hallux rigidus with only a few degrees of big toe flexion and completely rigid plated shoes are the only thing that let me return to running after a disappointing surgery then a decade away from it.
@EDDBUD The 3 is quite nice for just daily running. But after switching to the 2 for a few hard sessions I realized I'd been going hard in the wrong shoe. I don't get the stability complaints in the 2 - I feel like the 3 is more unstable in the heel on turns to me because the midsole is softer. I just scored several pairs of the 2 for $86 US each.
I have all 3 edd, 3 colours in the v1 😬 v1: good but hard to adjust running style V2: to narrow for me and energy rods broke poor shoe for me! Just no good for a wider foot. V3: awesome! Fits perfect no trouble with lockdown or laces Don't have endorphin pro v3 Nike vapourfly V2 is to narrow again and really slappy landing and poor quality
Unfortunately they don't work for me..I can tolerate it up to about a 5k at race pace and then I want my feet out of them..the upper doesn't stack up against V1..I have raced 1/2 marathons in all 3 versions and non are comfortable

Wear is pretty much non existent, and they just keep getting better and better as I rack up the miles. I love them for training but would still defer to my Alphafly and Vaporflys on marathon/half marathon race day and maybe the Takumi Sen for a 5K.
Hard to beat for a reduced price like that
Hi Edd great review so I might stay away from this.
If the sen works I say stick with it. It’s cushioned enough and very nimble.
Can you tell me how many centimeters (internal) are in size 9.5 and 10? 43 and 44 EU ?
Don’t know the size lengths sorry
This shoe or boston 12 for daily runs up to 15 k run
For daily use the Boston is fine
Two comments. I've been using the Takumi Sen 8 for all my races and I much prefer it to the Adios Pro 2. The Pro 2 for me is just too much foam. I'll probably run Boston this year in either the Takumi 8 or 9. 2nd, I notice you re-laced the Pro 3 with an under/over lacing on the top. All the Adidas shoes I get are laced Over/under, which is the only brand I have like that.
This way of lacing felt better. Didn’t work at all the standard way out the box.
@@EDDBUD hmm, will have to re-lace the Takumis and see how they feel
adidas makes odd decisions in some cases (like those crazy lace loops) and sensible decisions (like tuning the super shoes to distance use).
It will be nice to see them avoid the senseless decisions and double down on the sensible decisions.
✌🏽💙👟
Can’t say this one was uncomfortable. simply not quite the level of the 2. Still a very viable option for many though. Thanks for watching
With the 2s I got hotspots on the ball of my feet after 6 to 8 miles. Have you heard of this issue?
I had the same issue after about 8 miles of steady paced running which is why I only used it for 1 marathon. I absolutely loved it as a workout shoe. The 2 was so alive.
Fine for me for a half.
I get the same in all the adidas adios pro shoes including the primeX..always before 9mi but usually around 6-8mi..I have suspected it's the ends of the rods..
No issues for me in that area
The pro 2 just wants to go quick! The 3 feels a bit more like a wider, stable and not as wild.
Is it narrower?
No the 3 is bit wider

I have all 3 edd, 3 colours in the v1 😬
v1: good but hard to adjust running style
V2: to narrow for me and energy rods broke poor shoe for me! Just no good for a wider foot.
V3: awesome! Fits perfect no trouble with lockdown or laces
Don't have endorphin pro v3
Nike vapourfly V2 is to narrow again and really slappy landing and poor quality
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Unfortunately they don't work for me..I can tolerate it up to about a 5k at race pace and then I want my feet out of them..the upper doesn't stack up against V1..I have raced 1/2 marathons in all 3 versions and non are comfortable
Oh the v1 ! What a shoe that was. Looked like a clog but insane cushion and super lockdown.
1st
Just missed the podium.
Hi
🥇👊👍🏼
Hey Ed, why di you run through your video?
Take your time mate.. like the good old times ..
Your videos are the ones to be enjoyed with a large mug of coffee, not an Espresso..
Run through? Sure you didn’t turn up the speed? 12 mins spot on. As usual.
@@EDDBUD felt like you spoke more quickly as usual
MARINATE IT OVER 100+
Use the meat the mallet. Some salt and pepper. Maybe even mint sauce.
It would be way more useful if they made the upper more comfortable. Way too much chafe
I had no discomfort only a bit too much space in the front.
I don’t find these shoes stable. Slightest of unevenness on the roads and you may find yourself with a sprained ankle. I don’t feel confident about running fast on the streets with these shoes on unlike nike Alphafly 2.
The pro 3? In this case never try the pro 2.
