    Holy Moly! You got a toxic waste dump going there. I'm calling the EPA. I'm liking that Scotts summer fertilizer bag. I'm pretty sure I have 3 of the 5 products you have in my shed. Good stuff and smart to stick to one brand as much as possible. Systems are a good way to avoid problems. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) is smart. Well done.

    I’m a beginner , so you use Lawn builder first give it man the a month or more then you can use the weed snd feed ??
    I got sone weeds in my yards and also want to build it never used any products

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Step 1 - use a spray to kill the weeds
      Step 2 - plant new seed and establish grass
      Step 3 - maintain a weedless yard and feed the lawn with the 4 step program.
      You can’t just walk away from the lawn and expect it to remain perfect. A great lawn means you have to be in it daily or weekly.

      @@YouMadeMeLawn ok so in the backyard I don’t have much weed I can
      1- use edited fertilisers buffalo lawn builder ir extreme green ?
      2- water it with seasol it’s a seaweed solution very popular here it’s like a conditioner for the soil is that good to start of ??
      Front lawn full of weeds Dunno where to start do I apply weed and feeed first ?

      @YouMadeMeLawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Semaj.18272 if you back yard doesn’t have much weeds then you can fertilize. For your front yard you want to eliminate the weed first, then 2 weeks later aerate and overseed. You’ll have a great lawn within a month after that. Now is the time of the year to do it!

    When do I put down the winterizer? I live in Buffalo, NY. The grass usually goes dormant around the middle of October. Should it be now while it still growing? Or in Oct when it stops. The Scotts web site does not say. Ty! Go Bills!

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put the winterize down Mid-December. It basically does nothing till spring time anyways, so as long as the ground isn’t frozen you can apply it.

    I live in Texas and like to use the Scotts triple action with weed, fertilizer and fire ant preventative. What would you recommend to spot spray troublesome weed spots that will not hurt my St Augustine. Thank you.

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To kill weeds already in your lawn you need something called a post-emergent. Look for a product with 2,4-D on the back of it. I recommend bio-advanced lawn weed and crabcrass killer. Good luck. Keep me updated.

    I live in Washington state, its now April is it to late to do step 1? My crab grass is out of control.

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yill Dominguez you can do it now and it will help control other weeds, but it will not kill the crab grass problem you have. For that I recommend Spectracide Crabgrass killer. I have a video on it if you check back.

    I started using Scotts products this year with great results. I also use milo. My question is what Scotts pre emergent to use in the fall to prevent crabgrass and poa annua? I have very little crabgrass but had a lot of poa this spring. Thanks for the video and good luck. btw...i live in Alabama and have Bermuda grass.

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scotts step 1 has pre-emergent in it, gotta make sure to get it down before crabgrass starts. Scotts haults is also a pre-emergent if you are not doing the 4-step program.

    Do you have a template of your lawn program? I was curious what weeks do you put each product down. Great videos love the grass!!

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right, what scares many people from apply product is they don’t know when the right time is. Remember there’s a window for laying the products down, you can’t go wrong when you are in the window. But you can go wrong with application amount. I usually apply something every 2 weeks. But each product has its own suggested application window below:
      4step: early spring, spring, summer, fall
      SLS liquid: following the suggested application window on the website
      Milo: around Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving
      GrubbEx: Mid April to May
      Early September is aeration and overseeding time

      You Made Me Lawn yeah I got a cool season lawn, tall fescue. I was checking other TH-cam channels and I like your grass plan with the Scotts. I got the grass growing and looking good so far. I just want to maintain it and fix the bald spots and weeds. Thank you for responding. Sometimes it can be overwhelming information on TH-cam and you made things simple. Thanks again!

    Lawn looks awesome 👍🏻. In May I got into my lawn care. I downloaded the Scotts app and plan it n following that program. I want to dominate my neighbors. Did you have to wait a long time for your Toro striper? I checked amazon and it’s not in stock. No one seems to have it.

    You just motivated my ass to go to home depot tomorrow. Watch all your videos and i feel like i can pull this off. I have alot of compacted dirt, any suggestion on how to fix that?

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Thanks for the sub! 2 ways of fighting soil compaction: liquid aeration (over time and usage the soil will become “looser”) or manual aeration (in the fall I recommend renting an aerator from HD and doing an aeration and Overseeding...last fall I did that and that is where I saw the most results). Good luck, and keep me updated with your progress!

    • @djkid5245
      @djkid5245 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You Made Me Lawn i did aeration and overseeding last summer but i feel it is still compacted. Should i redoo it this year. Thanks for the reply.

    • @YouMadeMeLawn
      @YouMadeMeLawn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can scarify the soil, lay down some topsoil and reseed in the fall too. Each year you do it will help for sure. I plan to do it again in the fall to thicken the lawn. But aeration is not necessarily something you must do every year.

    St. Augustine grass? Do not apply the season long weed control. It will ding it badly. If it's the Floratam cultivar of st augustine, it will simply kill it. 2,4d + mecoprop solution is too much for that grass type to handle. Unless its Floratam it will most likely recover. But will be yellowed with stunted growth for a while. The isoxaben in it is an awesome pre-emergent however, it also used in Specticle which is a pro product. However if you get the granular version of the season long it shouldn't be an issue. Hope this help someone.
