I think this is the best tutorial on replacing a door bib gasket and thanks very much, I have a few comments based on my experience. My model is a Samsung WF42H5000AW/A2. Some of the screws were in slightly different locations than the one above, but everything made sense. The only obvious oddity was that the only reverse thread screw was not on the gasket ring, but just on the big hose that attaches to the gasket, the gasket ring was the usual righty tighty. After spending ten minutes trying to get the gasket ring on between the weights, I decided to remove the weights. Oh, for sure you want to remove the weights, both top and bottom. Six bolts and you have complete access to the rim. No issues getting the ring in place with the weights off. I wound up undoing and re-doing my ring three times, so I would put a fair amount of emphasis on where the tightening screw is located. I tried to put it in a slightly easier place to have access to the screw, but it was in a place where the weights were going to cinched it, so I moved it back. The next round I had a small leak and had to go back and really screw down that ring as far as I could. The screw has a phillips and a hex head as well. When I could turn the screw anymore I used a small ratchet to really clamp the ring on and that made the difference
Glad it helped mate. All I'm trying to do is teach in the correct way that everyone understands. Great video, and very supportive when you have all the covers off and the job ahead. Mine was a Samsung WW95N6 10kg and about 3 years old, and had a few slight differences - an extra pipe going into the top of the new gasket that required me to cut a hole to attach the new one in. and a wired cable attached to the front cover that I had to unplug from the wiring loom to allow me to fully remove that front panel. Apart from that the video was a blessing and great company to work along side me 🙂 All done and great job!!
Thanks so much for this.. I'm from Australia. Different model, different seal but same same but different process.. Saved me a fortune getting out a serviceman.. Much easier to take off concrete weights to fit.
Thank you! Very clear step by step instructions and guidance. Took approx 2hrs from start to finish being very careful with each step. Test run resulted in no leaks!

Great video. I managed to successfully replace the door seal on my Samsung washing machine after watching this. Small tip. Use the plastic levers from a bicycle type repair kit to assist removing eplacing the (sprung) wire band to avoid any risk of damaging the rubber or scratching the paint.
Thank you so much! This video is so clear and step by step. We managed to not call the technician. We'll always rely on you whether we need supplies from now on!
Thanks a lot for helping me out. I made the same mistake by turning the screw anti-clockwise. Fortunately I didn't damage the screw. God bless you and have an amazing weekend matey. Big love from the Netherlands.

Awesome video, spot on. I needed to buy a new inner band as it wouldn't turn at all and the new one was easy. The external band was too hard (it's an old machine so I did stretch the spring a little, if it leaks I'll just need to buy a new outer band. Thanks Paul!
Great video, helped me immensely. It does need an update though, as my Samsung (ecobubble, but presumably a later model than the one shown?) had got a hose going into the seal at the top, plus some cables and cable ties on the control panel which meant it didn't lift straight out and it took quite a while to find out what the problem was. I crossed my fingers and gave it a go anyway, and thankfully for everything else I could just follow these instructions. One other observation. Mini sockets - OH MY GOD, what a revelation! Used one on the front panel screws as suggested, and also on the inner band screw (the anticlock-to-tighten one) after I couldn't get the proper purchase with a screwdriver. SOOOO much easier. Thanks again, wouldn't even have attempted it without this video.

Hi, first thank you so much for the video on how to change the seal, had a bit of a time getting the back seal retainer clip of as the screw would not screw clockwise, eventually manged to get the band off, got the new seal on and rebuilt it all but when tried to get it to do a wash I was getting a dc error code, took the door lock switch back off to see if I'd not connected the cable plug but all connections where made, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, also the door has another bit on front for letting you drop a sock or whatever in, model number is WW70K5410UW

Great video, thank you. I only had two differences on an EU 7 liter model: the inner wire screw could not be tightened all the way, just a little bit and the top front panel with the dials was a bit more difficult to remove and wires had to be unclipped. I even managed to break off a little wire holding plastic flap but that should not impact functionality. All seems to work fine now after replacement. Thanks

Amazing thank you so much. Very clear and perfect level of detail. Mine was brand new less than two years ago and didn’t have the front retaining clip on it.. I wonder if this was a new design or a mistake at assembly ?

Just done this on a WW90TA046AE/EU - thanks to this video it was a lot easier I'm sure that thumbing through the service manual (if you can even easily find them these days!) - be methodical and follow the steps shown and it will work out!

Thanks a million for a fantastic video! I am pretty sure that I could not have done the job without it. I took the weights of the front of the drum to make access a bit easier and get a bit more confidence that I had a good seal. Anyway, thanks again! 🎉
Hello how 2repair great content as usual, have you got any tutorials on Bosch tumble dryer belt replacement, be good to know a different technique thanks..
Thank you. I’ve just cHnged mine using this video. However I didn’t have the metal spring you took off at start and was the last thing you put on. Mines an ecobubble 9.0kg. I guess they don’t all have one ???
I had great trouble getting the soabox out and it turned out i broke it, im halfway the repair at this moment, the doorseal came of the soapbox i dare not touch, cause i think it might still work, that means that if i can manage to clean and replace the door seal im out in the clean, but this video needs more guidance on removing the soapbox for the model wf1704ysw (samsung ecobuble 7.0 kg) otherwise great video, especialy the part where you told me about the anticlockwise screw, now lets hope i can still use it with a broken soapbox update - in this model the panel comes off before the soapbox holder, there are extra screws in there, it now totaly broke off, but i might still be able to fix it - continuing and salvaging what is possible at this point

Jezus its possible to put it on without deinstalling the front panel? I never deinstalled it whilr changing the rubber but that was Gorenje and other companies
A lot of machines now are very difficult due to the way the manufacturers assemble them @LordCarlSagan please remember to subscribe to our channel as that really helps us th-cam.com/users/shortse432SAb2g08 Thanks, Paul 👍
Hi mate, the basic principles of washing machines haven't changed since the 70s so it's a straightforward task. However, if you are not feeling comfortable, you can either seek a help from a friend or a professional.
I like taking on a good do it yourself project. I asked because one gentleman was having a hard time taking off the large clamp ring once the panel was removed. I saw him fussing with the springs and trying to release the tension. My guess is he didn’t know about, the counterclockwise screw that you stressed in your video. I appreciate your knowledge.
When I do these, I always take a couple of minutes to remove the concrete blocks as I find it much easier to fit the rubber without having to get my fingers into the narrow gap.
If you know how to do, it's up to you mate. Could you do me a favour and take part in a poll I've made about the lifespan of appliances? You just need to tick one of two boxes. It will only take about 10 seconds.
Thank you very much Paul ❤ you saved me from a lot of trouble 👍👍👍
Great to hear mate! Could you do me a favour and take part in a poll I've made about the lifespan of appliances? You just need to tick one of two boxes. It will only take about 10 seconds. This might help us improve how machines are made in the future😇

Thanks
Thank you for some clear well described set of instructions, perfect 👍
Legend! Liked and subscribed. Amazing step by step video. Have a test wash going and looks good so far. Thank you.

Good. But what if I have whole spring (not a wire with nuts) that fixes a seal inside the machine. How to get on the place? Thanks in advance
Thank you. I’ve just cHnged mine using this video. However I didn’t have the metal spring you took off at start and was the last thing you put on. Mines an ecobubble 9.0kg. I guess they don’t all have one ???

I had great trouble getting the soabox out and it turned out i broke it, im halfway the repair at this moment, the doorseal came of the soapbox i dare not touch, cause i think it might still work, that means that if i can manage to clean and replace the door seal im out in the clean, but this video needs more guidance on removing the soapbox for the model
wf1704ysw
(samsung ecobuble 7.0 kg)
otherwise great video, especialy the part where you told me about the anticlockwise screw, now lets hope i can still use it with a broken soapbox
update - in this model the panel comes off before the soapbox holder, there are extra screws in there, it now totaly broke off, but i might still be able to fix it - continuing and salvaging what is possible at this point
Very helpful! Thank You! Works also on newer ww80t754dbt/s7 just the reverse screw is regular one.

A lot of machines now are very difficult due to the way the manufacturers assemble them @LordCarlSagan please remember to subscribe to our channel as that really helps us th-cam.com/users/shortse432SAb2g08 Thanks, Paul 👍
No need to take the front of machine off. Use a long reach screw driver for retaining clip.
for those that know what there doing can do it this way but a lot of people need to take the front of as it might be their first attempt
Would this procedure apply to the Samsung wf45r6100aw?
Hi mate, the basic principles of washing machines haven't changed since the 70s so it's a straightforward task. However, if you are not feeling comfortable, you can either seek a help from a friend or a professional.
I like taking on a good do it yourself project. I asked because one gentleman was having a hard time taking off the large clamp ring once the panel was removed. I saw him fussing with the springs and trying to release the tension. My guess is he didn’t know about, the counterclockwise screw that you stressed in your video. I appreciate your knowledge.
So the only machines that allow you to change bearings are Samsung, Fisher & Paykel and Haier?
When I do these, I always take a couple of minutes to remove the concrete blocks as I find it much easier to fit the rubber without having to get my fingers into the narrow gap.
If you know how to do, it's up to you mate. Could you do me a favour and take part in a poll I've made about the lifespan of appliances? You just need to tick one of two boxes. It will only take about 10 seconds. This might help us improve how machines are made in the future😇

If door seal is just dirty, does it need to be replaced? They go for $120 or so apiece.
Supper Danke
To put the spring and band on instead of screwdrivers I used bicycle tyre levers
That really is the perfect tool to use as it will not pinch the rubber. Have a great New Year and please remember to subscribe to the channel.
