Please stop misinterpreting. Kumasi means under the Kuma tree and Otumfuo is different from Otomfuo which means a Blacksmith. Otumfuo simply means the one with power. Tumi means power in the Akan language.

What is a Kuma tree? Be Specific?
I am certain I did not make any relation between the present title of the Asantehene and the Twi word for a Blacksmith in my presentation: but there are hints of a transliteration from [Ɔtomfoɔ to Otumfoɔ]. In those days of old the most powerful person in the land was the Blacksmith....
[Ɛnyina or Onyina] - Ceiba Pentandra is a tropical tree of the order Malvales and the family Malvaceae native to our forests....

I am confused. Kumase used to be called Kwaaman. Osei Tutu and Obiri Yeboah and all those guys were Kwaamanhene. Where did you get this information from? I am not arguing I just want to learn more.
