Fyi, i am an Asante Prince and in line to one of the 4 main Paramouncies.
The stool is not wood covered with gold, but rather the whole stool is pure gold.
Every article I've seen in the stool says its "a wooden stool inlaid with gold". I'm really trying to find where it says it is solid gold.
