I got hooked with Fusion, then Super Metroid and Metroid Prime made me a perma-fan. Love this series.

Echos was hands down my favorite Prime game. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the beam ammo, but even that wasn't too bad to manage
One tip for ya: Use the scan visor. Scanning bosses gives important information about defeating them, and the visor will also reveal important details in the room for optional puzzles and the like. Also helps with finding optional items like missiles and energy tanks.

Also there are missable scans required for 100% (there are extras as a reward)

endings are only for items, not scans. and the logbook transfers over to new game+.

You can press X to jump in Morph Ball mode, destroy War Wasp nests with missiles, and attract pick ups by charging the arm cannon

Little tip if you need it, when the charge beam is fully charged, items are magnetic towards you
It's crazy how Dread was the first for a few of us, myself included. I got a copy of this and am excited to play it.
I really hope that the collective feedback to Metroid Prime will not only allow Metroid Prime 2 to be remastered but boost production on Metroid Prime 4 so that we may eventually see a trailer within our lifetime
I’ll get into metroid eventually I’ve seen so much cool and underrated stuff from that series it’s hard to ignore (unless we get another 15 years with like no games).

actually, Choc, the look Samus' Power suit takes after the malfunction is literally the suit with its most basic features.
Look at our little baby chocolate, finally understanding why we Metroid fans love this franchise.
And his reaction to the music... can't wait until he gets to a certain series of themes in 3 (if they ever release it!!!)
Unfortunately for you Choc, there is no way for you to get the secret prize for scanning 100% of you log Book without starting a new game (Which admittedly you probably will at some point). For future reference, though you technically don't need to scan everything. Its safer if you do just incase (as I don't remember all of the stuff that is needed)
Edit: Also, the "Metal Cap" paintings are Chozo Lore, scan it to learn about The Chozo and their life and death on Tallon IV

you dont need to scan EVERY item, but you do need to get all the items and artifacts. its the same for both the remastered and the original
When I was in high school, my parents let me build a half-pipe (it indeed was a tall mini ramp with vertically-aimed sides) for skating in the garage, and they selflessly kept their cars outside in the snowy driveway. Just wanted to let you know that I lived your dream, bro; and it was awesome.

Interesting bit about the morph ball, Prime actually sidelong addresses how it works, maybe. If you pay attention to the animation when she morphs, it's sort of implied that she actually converts into energy to fit within the sphere. Wild!
The Metroid Prime series has some of the best soundtracks, love to see you enjoying the game!
Please scan enemies more, the entire confusion with the Flaahgra boss could've been avoided if you scanned the boss.
It can be fun to work out the bosses yourself without the hints, we all enjoy playing in our own way!

@@blooocki as did you friend. there are plenty of polite comments here on this exact same topic. This one isn’t one of them. My initial comment to this op was kind and could have stopped there. You jumped in to gamersplain to me, with a lot of your own assumptions, so I responded to you. My mistake though was that I wasn’t paying attention and mistook you for the op, which is why I referred to “your comment” multiple times, but that was my mistake, I was referring to the OPs initial comment
For most spider species, the females are physically larger than the males by a significant margin, so double check that first. Otherwise i like the name Manfred for a bathroom spider. Like a courteous butler who will freshen up the bowl once you have used it.
I was kinda thinking Wallace for the same reason.
Bought dread in 2022 for my first Metroid and couldn't get far until I played this. Waited for the physical release as well. This game made me feel like I was a kid experiencing a halo level franchise in all it's glory. Really hope they release hd remasters of 2 and 3 before prime 4.
I ordered the physical game on my birthday since it launched on that day and just started playing it 2 hours ago. So far its freaking amazing.

MISSILE TIP: you can spam missiles by clicking the FIRE (A or ZR) Button shortly after firing a missile, then fire a missile again, then click fire again, then shoot missile, and repeat.
So happy that you're playing through this amazing game. If it may concern you, you can choose gyro aiming as well, I think in the camera options you can enable gyro + stick aiming which feels pretty good to use. Really excited for you to continue this game, and here's hoping Nintendo remasters Prime 2 and 3 as well. Especially 2, that's my favorite.
This is easily, without a doubt, my favourite Metroid game in the series, dread being a close second

Having to wait those few extra weeks for the physical copy to come out over here in the UK was absolute torture, but super worth it. It looks real nice on the cupboard behind me; oh, and the game was fantastic as usual.
This game is stunningly amazing and I loved every bit of it on the GameCube

Congratulations on getting a physical copy and getting the varia suit! I had trouble with the boss before, but i knew you would learn to beat it! Also make sure you use that scan visor!! Right d-pad
I first played the OG Prime and Prime 2 on GCN back in the mid 2000s, and it made me fall in love with the series, my second-favorite franchise after Mario. Playing the Remastered version made me emotional, seeing the incredible re-done visuals, and the dual-stick controls are just perfect. They better remaster the other two games.
Seeing your subscribed/not subscribed ratio, it's actually pretty good. Much better than most that I come across.
I played the OG Metroid Prime on the GC a lot back then.
The scan visor not only helps you find items, but also scans bosses for weaknesses.
Scan visor is also use to find lore and hidden information.
I agree with wanting physical. There’s just something different about being able to physically hold what you bought with your hard earned capital.
Bought the Cube back in the day just for Metroid Prime. Amazing memories.

I come with important knowledge to give you. If you press X during morph ball mode after acquiring bombs, you can jump with spring ball

I didn't bother waiting and just played my gamecube copy of Metroid Prime 2 right after; not as interconnected but the environments are WAY more alien

I waited for a physical copy too. I'd only just gotten into Metroid (beaten super and zero mission) but prime might be one of the best games I've ever played.

Good going for the first time, Choc. But some friendly advice for future playthroughs: You can destroy those beehives with a missile and they won't come back anymore.
And those solar panels can be shot up in one go if you hit it with a missile. Saves on time.

Both the Super Metroid comic strips and the Samus and Joey spinoff manga show Samus feeling comfortable and relaxed in the Morph Ball, to the point where (even in the much more serious SnJ story) she celebrates recovering the Morph Ball by rolling in a circle for a few minutes

You can enable gyro with dual stick in the camera settings
A common mistake is see youtubers making with Prime Remastered as their first Prime game. They take one look at the scan visor and say "I'm not wasting time with this..." You'll waste far more time not scanning things because you'll die a heck of a lot more. Scan things. Scan everything. Not only will you find a rather good story, but it will help auto target enemy weaknesses, and give you vital clues in how to beat bosses.

In case you didn't notice it, the charge beam also has a "vacuum" effect on life/missile refills.
I can't wait to see part 2 also magmoor caverns is the pain in the butt also since I already completed the game also the total a Metroid games I played is 6 games and I am a fan of Metroid

PS. I recommend you use your missiles and charge beam more often ;) much more powerful than the pea shooter.
Idk if it’s just me but Ridley seems more mechanized in the original game, like full robot instead of more cyborg. Perhaps it is the lighting or textures of the original idk but it seemed different to me

just a fyi you can use missiles to destroy the hives of the bugs so they don't respawn

Had prime for the game cube but never played it. I'm an old school 2D metroid fan, but after DREAD released, after waiting for years, I gave prime another chance and am glad I did. The release of DREAD is the reason I bought my switch oled.

here's a nice tip: now that you have the charge beam, you can use it to draw health and missile upgrades to you.

Woohoo!! So glad you're playing Metroid Prime Choc! I hope you really enjoy it! I do have to apologize, however. I'm sorry, but I had to step out of Weenie Hut Jr. for a minute to also remind you to scan everything you encounter. Ofc you can play in whatever way you enjoy the game, but people will be relentlessly telling you to scan more stuff until you do. I'd say like 60% of the fun in this game is scanning things and learning more about Tallon IV, so liberal use of the scan visor is recommended. I hope the comments are kind to you and I hope nothing diminishes your enjoyment of the game. Thank you for the entertainment!
Hey Choc scanning enemies and items in the world may be a huge help for you. More info on items is also available in the menu when you press the - button. Also, pressing X in Morphball mode will allow you to jump.
7:33 He wasn't in Dread, because he's technically been dead since Super Metroid... And the two times we've seen him after that, canonically, were clones, One of which was an x parasite that infected his corpse.
For those who don't know, the whole Prime series takes place between Metroid 1 (Zero Mission) and 2 (Samus Returns).
This may be backseat gaming, but I need to say this: use that Scan Visor at every possible opportunity. Knowledge is power.
Anyone else notice that they changed Meta Ridley's design?
It's closer to Proteus Ridley now, with some bits of flesh appearing here and there, rather than the full metal plating of the og design.
