Fun Fact: Monica and Chandler sleeping together in London was originally supposed to be scripted as a mistake 2 friends made, but the audience loved the scene so much, they decided to make them a couple.

It's a well known fact that their relationship was never the plan, it never had a point, it was never a planned out story. It was an added relationship to pat up the material. They ran out of backstories and funny one time relationship after season 4. And the whole Ross and Rachel thing is not enough to keep the show alive, so they add the Monica and Chandler thing. Ross was supposed to get back with Rachel after he said her name at the alter, but money keeps coming in so they extend the show for a few more seasons, leading to more content being added in without planning.
You can see the drop in production quality from season 4 onwards. After season 4, the show becomes one gigantic meme instead of serious sitcom intertwined with comedy.

In the end, he was the hottest, the smartest (without being a nerd), the funniest so far, he was so loving and carrying with Monica, he was devoted to their relationship and to his friends. I love him so much, he's my no. 1

Chandler was seriously the BEST when it came to loving and caring for Monica and now their two children. His character really grew so much throughout the series and Monica being by his side is a big reason for that in my opinion. Such an amazing, healthy couple!

And MLP was so good in his performance at this time and he was saying that was when he was really clean and sober and could have given him more purpose. The development, stability, sacrifice, and heartwarming nature of Chandler and Monica's relationship brought maturity and growth to the Friends sitcom during the middle to later seasons of the series. As compared to the soap opera drama, frustration, on-again, off-again, immature, and toxic nature of Ross and Rachel's relationship, Chandler and Monica's relationship brought a nice counterbalance that made it possible for having 2 core relationships couples between 4 of the main characters on the show.

However romantic Ross and Rachel's ending was, I think in real life Ross and Rachel would be one of those people that always break up and make the mistake of being drawn to each other until they find their actual people meant to be with. While Chandler and Monica are... the couple that would last. They compement each other, they make each other better, and they never give up on the other person, and once they decided it was it, there wasn't cheating or jelousy, just figuring out how to be together. They fell for each other. Whereas Ross was in love with the idea of Rachel for so many years that there was a power imbalance there from the start

They even thought about making Chandler cheat on Monica, they had rehearsed it and were about to shoot it but Matthew stopped it, he couldn't go through with it. I am so thankful that he stopped it, Matthew was a wonderful man💕

It’s Feb 1 2024 terribly hard to be watching friends now , I’m over 50 was a friends fan , but now I have these u tube videos to remind just how great, wonderful , handsome , great actor Matthew Perry was for me in the whole show “ he was the one.”they were all great all of them but “ he had that special something you just can’t write about , it was that rare “ Rest In Peace dearest Matthew so many , so many loved you.❤️

I agree, Roschel may have had the more exciting, dramatic and unpredictable relationship, but Mondler were far more nurturing and caring towards each other, which made me root for them more in the long run! #mondlerforever 💘

I think they loved each other deeply even in the beginning, in the early seasons they’re constantly cuddled up on a loveseat/couch together, chandler is always complimenting her, and Monica lost all the weight and became a chef bc she wanted to please chandler. They were so oblivious 😂
Monica is confident and ambitious, Chandler is completely opposite, but they're so good and balanced together, that's what makes them so special.
We don't see any of these friends much in their professional lives, but Chandler is definitely the yuppie of the group. The best earner and the second best educated after Ross.

The three scenes that are so romantic and touching
In the whole Chandler Monica relationship ,for me, is the proposal scene in the apartment, what Chandler says at the alter, and how he describes Monica to the surrogate. The writing for Matthew Perry was perfect and the way he delivers the lines are so believable and touching. Matthew Perry had such a range. Thank you for some great acting. We will miss you.

I’m just now realizing how often Joey was a witness-knowingly or unknowingly-to Monica and Chandler’s milestones in their relationship.
The screenwriters were looking very carefully the chemistry between Matthew and Courteney and took profit from that on the show, and they took the right choice.

C&M were adults in love, Ross and Rachel was a teenage crush. C&M wanted to be full functioning members of society, they wanted to be parents. It would be interesting to have a look at their lives years later, rasing teenagers, making house payments, and somehow always being in love.
I love how they never tried to change each other. They adapted so well that it never seemed weird ..in just one scene they made us believe that they are meant to be together.

It’s interesting after reading Matthew Perry’s book where he said that the scenes where he was bloated it was alcohol and where he was thin it was pills. He never drank or used on set but was incredibly hung over many, many times. Wishing him only the best as he deals with these addictions. He’s pretty amazing!!

I love Chandler and Monica so much. He never cheated on her or acted like a child during their relationship. We saw him as a man who started off to be afraid of commitment and learned to be okay with a serious relationship. Monica and Chandler are the best couple ever.
As for Rachel and Ross.....I shipped them at first but then they were both so childish. Ross needed to grow up. How is it possible he cheats on Rachel ?... BUT he didn’t ever cheat on Carol or Emily or Mona. He liked Rachel since high school and he cheats on her just because she asked for a break. Rachel should’ve communicated more with him. Most of all, Ross should’ve gone home after his fight with Rachel.

Jungkook chan Maybe I’m looking at this differently from you. Personally, if you’re on a break with your partner then that means you’re taking some time off from each other. Sure, you’re not committed to them but still in love with them. You shouldn’t fool around with anyone else if you’re in love with them. You just need to figure things out. Now when you break up with your partner, you can go out with anybody. In Rachel’s and Ross’s case, they were on a BREAK. She even said I don’t know maybe we should just take a break. After a fight with 2 stubborn and child like people it means time apart. Ross was being ridiculous overall. Again that’s just my opinion and if Ross had slept with somebody else while I was dating him, I would never ever have anything to do with him.

It's because he always genuinely loved Monica, even if it wasn't romantic at first. He knew that Monica was afraid of being alone, and if it ever came to a point where she had lost all hope of being with someone, he would step up to be there for her. To be honest, that kind of devotion and care to someone is even more impactful to me.

You guys forgot Season 3, Episode 6, The One with the Flashback. In a scene set a year before the series started (and therefore nearly five years before Chandler and Monica fell in love), Monica is upset that Phoebe moved out. She wonders if she's so difficult to live with and if that's the reason why she doesn't have a boyfriend. Chandler comforts her, telling her she's one of his favorite people and the most beautiful woman he's ever known in real life.

Their emotions were so raw and sweet when the doctor told them about their fertility issues and the unlikelihood that they could have children of their own. LOVED that the writers gave them such a sweet outcome with twin babies.
It is so sad Matthew wanted a wife and children and never got it before he died. He got it as Chandler with Courtney as Monica. They would have made a lovely real life couple.

These guys were always the real love story of the show. Best proposal in TV history and 100% relationship goals. Growing up watching these two I knew when I was old enough I wanted to marry someone who was my best friend first and foremost, a relationship built on acceptance, trust and laughter. True love in all its flaws.

Another one of the only times was when (In season 4), they finally got the ring out of the duck and all the three guy friends talk about them being best friends and how they were going to be Ross' two best men. Haha love that scene.
People complain that "chandler can't cry" doesn't make sense. But in that episode, it's explained that he doesn't cry at fictional movies or shows. He tells Pheobe that he understands her crying over her mom's death, which then would mean he CAN cry/become emotional for real-life situations, especially those that involve his loved ones.
Remember when Chandler called Monica fat and he's the reason she lost all the weight?
Yep and the reason she became a chef was because of chandler complimenting her cooking ,wow she really did a lot for chandler even when they were just friends but I wonder if chandler would have loved her like that even if she still remained fat,I know there is a whole episode of an alternative universe where fat Monica and weird chandler still end up together but what if in this universe they never did ? I’m so glad they ended up together

Besides proposal, my most fav scene is the first fight. How Chandler thinks it’s over. It says a lot about how women actually took advantage of his insecurities and inexperience. And how perfect they were for each other, because they both needed someone who would be willing to work on relationship equally. And as a result they were power couple who did everything right. Even the mistakes. ❤
I think that’s on chandler cause he’s bad at communication, but monica is very communicative and direct so that’s one of the reasons why the couple works

Ross couldn't take the fact that Rachel had priorities other than ross as well and Rachel was unable to understand the fact that ross was feeling insecure and therefore did not have a thought on having a talk with him . I still feel they were better apart .
