Lovely review, I'm waiting for one in Ireland. I'd argue that 3.8 seconds is on par with supecars, it's absolutely insane 😂 it's faster than just about anything else you might encounter on the daily commute.
Me encanta el gran trabajo que hace BYD sus diseños son muy especiales sigan por ese camino pero me gustaria como usuario es que activen el consumo en kw cada 100 km en vez de cada 50km y una forma mas eficiente en el modo eco
Undoubtedly advanced battery technology and highly refined software - when it comes to aesthetics, both exterior and interior, we Germans are accustomed to the luxurious standards set by Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. For Chinese automakers to make a mark in Germany, they must embrace a distinctive design language. Nio and Zeekr are notably heading in the right direction. Overall, it's impressive; China was underestimated for a while, and now Germany must ensure its brands don't fade away, drawing parallels to the story of Nokia.
The Byd Seal is a great car with a nice build quality. However, the "review" seems more like a sales pitch than a comprehensive review. The reviewer doesn’t go into depth about any of the car’s shortcomings, such as the software. While the software is okay, it lacks some features that its rivals have. For example, the estimated charge/distance is not great, no route planning that incorporates charging station in regards to the state of charge (you have to manually input charging), and the lane assist and sign recognition features are not up to par. It’s important to note that no car is perfect, and a review should address both the good and the bad aspects of the car. Despite these shortcomings, the Byd Seal is still a great car and is on my shortlist.
Nice short to the point review. The RWD 230kw version of the Seal is scarce as far as reviews and comparisons with the AWD. I guess BYD are "pushing" the AWD version to reviewers and motoring journalists. Still, the 230kw RWD version - and even the entry level 150kw version (available in some markets) will be the bigger sellers by far. And, with most markets having 100/110kmh speed limits there isn't really a need for 390kw of power, other than to scare the living daylights out of a driver you're passing. AWD has its advantages though. Clearance to the road and (in my case) front bumper clearance for my steep driveway may end up being a deal breaker to purchasing this car. It's really quite low to the ground. Lower than the Tesla M3.
We agree with your points. Having more power isn't really a need for the average commuter. However, the performance variant does appeal to your soul, rather than your mind. Give it a try at your local dealership!
Test drove a RWB 230kw version of the Seal in Melbourne earlier this week. Plenty of acceleration, nice and quiet, the HUD is great, cooling on the seats was good. It's a lot of car for the money, feels like a Benz. I have a Premium Seal (230kw RWD) on order. Would quite like to test drive the Performance version. But not sure if I need about 160kW of power or the addtional AUD10k. The Seal colours are nice. The Atlantis Grey is blue in some light.
@@YSA920 I have on order the Atlantis Grey (Blue?). The extra 10k is not something I can brush off lightly, and then there is the increase of insurance for the Performance over the Premium - whatever that will be?
I think you need to check oud the byd problem that they pay to register cars and put them on a field ust to pump up the sales nr. Not good that they cheats to get there.
Trash! BYD has some of the worst reliability cars in China. Many videos online of current model BYD EVs going up in flames, airbags not deploying, stuck on side of the road, etc. while in a recent survey, they ranked as the 2nd & 3rd worse cars. The cars with the most complaints were the Lixiang ONE (41.8), followed by the BYD Han (38.5) and BYD Dolphin (37.3) complaints per 10K sold while Tesla model Y had the lowest complaints at 2.2 & model 3 had 2.7.
I like this presenter! Very eloquent and professional, please give him a raise!!
Wow such an eloquent and well-spoken presenter! Hope to see more of him! Nice cinematic review!
Thank you for your kind words. You definitely will be seeing more of him!
What a well produced video. Love the camera shots and angles. Proud to be an owner of this car albeit the lower trim.
Super review. Hope to see loads more in the future.
Very professional presenter! Deserving of a raise!

@@MotoristSg Absolutely. I intend taking the Performance for a drive.

Got planning to review more modern classic like AE101?
If we can get our hands on one we might consider.
@MotoristSg Want take mine to feature?

Nice Model S look alike. wink wink.
It does have some similarities but honestly, the BYD Seal does stand out on the road!
Model S😅😅👎

Congrats on your new source of income.
Nonsense
Oh...😅😂
Nope, Model Y complaints are 42.2, Model 3 complaints are 42.7. You can make up rumors and so can I.
