Recently, in "Tales of the Jedi", it was shown that Master Yaddle was killed by Count Dooku. Following Qui-Gon Jinn's death, Dooku's disdain for the Jedi Council reaches the tipping point and eventually falls to the dark side. (It is also implied that he was already conspiring with Sidious.) After Master Yaddle tails Dooku to a ship hangar, she witnesses Darth Sidious and Dooku together and overhears their plans for the republic. After revealing herself to them, Darth Sidious makes Dooku prove his loyalty to him and the two duel. You can see that Dooku is conflicted, but ultimately slays the former Jedi Master.

I do not believe Sideous was more powerful, I believe Yoda realized that the time simply was not there for him to succeed at the moment. Sideous had an army, he had everyone on his side, the senate etc.. the Jedi were sought after as assassins etc after Sideous as a disfigured Palpatine said he was attacked. Yoda was just too overwhelmed to see any point to continue, yes Sideous is powerful but a fight to the death I have my faith in Yoda.

Yoda was too old. His age was too far gone as a weakness. Palpatine had more endurance and strength. Yes yoda is more powerful in the force. But palpatine is more intelligent than yoda manipulation wise.
Palpatine's greatest strength wasn't his force powers but his cunning and deceiving intellect in conjunction with his ability to mask his force powers like luke in the last jedi ( honestly I now see palpatine being more powerful than yoda through simple intelligence). He defeated yoda by destroying the jedi order through subterfuge and manipulative tactics.
So yes by the time of the rotj palpatine was stronger than yoda. even force wise because yoda was no longer young enough to draw on his full potential in the force.
Palpatine was the most cunning and intelligent sith lord in galactic history. Yoda wasn't going to win in that fight. He was too old. palpatine had his clones coming to support him. palpatine uses everything in his arsenal to defeat his enemies. Not just force powers. He broke Vader emotionally so vader couldn't kill him with his superior force powers when he was angry enough to outrival him as he did in ROTJ.

In Legends, Sidious was arguably the most powerful Sith Lord to have ever lived and the most powerful individual in galactic history second only to Luke Skywalker. As much as I love Yoda, and as much as I think he gave Sidious a genuine run for his money, I do believe Sidious won that duel because he got the upper hand.

@@jakobfel2 There's definitely a good case to be made for Sidious. It's also possible to suggest Yoda made the wise decision, instead of struggling to win a particular duel, it's wiser to evade capture in order to groom the next balance in the force.

I don't think the force considers Anakin an error. While he did awful things and joined the dark side, ultimately his actions brought a (destructive, but effective) end to both the hypocritical Jedi order and the sith. I believe the Jedi were just as dark as the sith, just without knowing it. The force naturally seeks balance and the Jedi and sith neither represent the light or dark, but they both brought the galaxy into darkness. Anakin destroyed both orders, bringing their influence on the dark side back to balance. Of course, they both survived to varrying degrees, but their extreme influence on the force is much less than what it used to be. Now, the corrupt sith are weaker, and the Jedi are much less self-absorbed and hypocritical. I'm sure the force expects imbalance to return at some point, but it's omnipotent and can just spawn in another antagonist to bring it back.

Disney and Lucasfilm could be drowning in money had they just adapted a bunch of old Legends novels/comics into animated movies or series. Don't have them all look like TCW since I heavily fucked with SW: Visions. The Ninth Jedi and The Elder shorts are in my head canon as taking place during and "shortly" after the New Sith Wars in Legends. They just fit too perfectly not to include them. Hell, the shit that happens a few centuries after and before the New Sith Wars end are still an in-universe and lore wise blur.

With respect... I think "powerful" was a poor choice of words. The focus of the vid was on experience and skills, but didn't really address power. Example- we don't know how powerful Grogu is. We know he lacks skill and training, but his ability to subdue a Rancor and lift a mudhorn shows considerable raw power. In canon, we don't know how powerful Yaddle really was. Her skills were touched on with abilities like morichro, but a lot of her story is "legends"....just a thought.

'Sever Force' sounds exactly like "Stilling" or "Gentling" from The Wheel Of Time book series (and the TV show created by Amazon - the first book was released in 1990). Stilling/gentling is when you permanently* sever a person's ability to use magic (called channeling). When you temporarily sever someone, it's called a shield. I bring this up because I was wondering if there were any other stories/movies/books that had something similar. Anyone know of any? For those who have never read the books, I truly envy you. I'd give anything, and I do mean *anything* to read them again for the first time. I contend that they're one of the greatest stories ever told. * = Yes, I know, I just didn't want to spoil anything for people reading the books or watching the show.
Does it have its flaws? Absolutely, no story of that scope, with that much world-building is flawless. The vast majority of the criticism is that it kinda drags on in the middle. I agree that it's a long series but I actually preferred the series slowing down slightly because it just keeps on with world-building - fleshing characters out and adding a lot more mythology. I think that's why people criticize it -- the first three books is a non-stop roller-coaster as the author (Robert Jordan) initially wanted to do a trilogy, but thanks to the popularity he was able to keep on going. The final 3 books not only makes up for the slowness in the middle but they elevate the series into an epic, one of the best book series ever written. Thanks to audio books, I've read the series 3 times and listened over 7 times now.

I love reading the comments in these Starwars uploads by any content creator. The depth of the story and each character is amazing that George Lucus thought all this up and captured his imagination to put it on film. I still remember the day before my brother and i went to see the first ever run in cinemas of the New hope in 1977, and talking about what the theme song would be. We already knew some characters as advertised, like Darth Vader and luke skywalker, so assumed their names would be in music, which i still remember "Darth vader, the man in black, Darth vader the star wars attack" obviously turned out there wasn't even lyrics lol. So next day around 4 in the afternoon we headed off with mum to see starwars, the queue was massive, went all around the cinema, at that time our cinema had only two screen rooms, one big one and one smaller one, we was lucky to get into the main one because my mum thought this threw lol, we waited 2 hours, and while waiting we talked to other kids there all wondering what we was about to watch. I can say this, the hype was real, even the adults was excited to see this film, I was 6 years old, first time ever going into a cinema so that alone was a big deal for me, as we walked up slowly to the theatre we was looking at the posters, the famous one with luke and with his gun at front, princess Leia on his left with a gun with the laser showing shooting out the gun, han solo to lukes right with a gun firing a laser, then you had chewie r2d2 c3po in the corner left of Luke and obi on the right, and behind them big Darth vader with his sabre and the Death star on his right, with a few fighters flying around. That was the first time we saw all the main characters. There was a few more posters of individuals but that was the main poster. So we finally got into the main viewing room, it was huge, our cinema was an old victorian building with large pillars and at the top of the ceiling was this huge chandelier. The curtains was red, and the seats red, the seat flipped down with a spring so when you stood up it would flip back up again, i remember finding this amusing to keep standing so the seat would flip up, to the annoyance of mum. We was seated at the middle right which was a perfect angle about 8 rows from the front. I remember looking back at the screening room, watching the people inside doing what ever they did, (I know now they was splicing the film, and setting up the projectors, as films didn't come on one big reel, so they used two projectors.) So I would watch them to try get a hint when the film would start. Then I noticed the light colour changed from white to red, then all the lights turned off, and behind the curtains you could see an image, so the curtains pulled open and we watched a few adverts of other films etc, then the curtains drew shut again and lights back on. Then we had the ice cream and popcorn people walking threw the Isle, one was a hot dog seller so we got a hot dog each, some popcorn and a drink. After about 100 years (child time) they all walked back out the theatre, so i looked back at the projector room knowing now that when the light went red things was going to happen, and on comes the red light, off goes the theatre lights and the red curtains slowly opened. Then you got the count down on the film then black, the whole room was silent, only sound you heard was a crunch of popcorn. Then we saw the red starwars that floated back, and then the music started everyone cheered, still makes hairs at the back of my neck tingle reliving that moment in my head, then the writing starts "episode 1v a new hope,.............. then all of a sudden a huge ship firing on a smaller ship appears, and the rest was the most magical time of my childhood, and for my ten year old brother a huge crush on Princess Leia lol. Looking at posters now from 1977 used they can go up to and beyond 1.800.00 for the promo poster that i explained at the beginning. But for me back then it was endless toys and figures that i played with back then that i wish i still had, not for the money, but the memories they would of hold. If you read all this thankyou, as it was and still is a huge part of my youth, and i thank my mum R.I.P for escorting my brother and i to see what still is the best film I've ever watched. Have a great day or night starwars fan's, And may the force be with you. 💙💫

It’s one of the things that always stuck with me after first seeing the prequels, regardless of how he’s portrayed in all of SW canon, when all is said and done, Yoda and the other grandmasters (and although he seemed wiser than the others, he still was as guilty) arrogance in their rightness of the light side of the force is what caused the end of the Jedi order and the lives of many

    • @redneckrambo9626

How is Yoda alone truly to blame for that? You do understand that there were many Jedi? There are literally a dozen jedi masters on the council and NONE of them knew explicitly what was going to happen. Even Windu, who knew something was off with Sidious, didn't foresee it all.
Just because a character is force sensitive, it doesn't mean they are all knowing, let alone have the ability to foresee the future.
Believing in the jedi order absolutely, unequivocally, does NOT downplay Yoda's wisdom or intelligence in any way shape or form. Wisdom has limitations. And what wisdom is not, is omniscience. Yoda was literally regarded as the wisest of the jedi order. We know this as it's literally been said.
While Sidious does state he was blinded by arrogance, and to some degree true, it doesn't take anything away from him. The Jedi don't have a magical crystal ball that tells them.
I've seen this narrative a lot that Yoda wasn't wise because of the jedi's failure to stop the rise of the sith and it's just hilarious to me.

Talking to the dead was considered impossible.
They said he was insane or so and Yoda had to sneak away because he knew he couldnt reason with them.
Keep in mind the order didnt even believe in the existence of the sith for 1000 years.
If a jedi claimed a Sith lord to be capable of taking over the republic, that wasnt considered realistic.
Also dont forget that the balance of the force was thrown out of balance by Darth Plagueis. Therefore the ability to see the fiture was heavily weakened for lightsiders.

I believe Yoda and Minch are actually the same people with him either going by his last name or first only later on. Yoda supposedly only talks weird because he wants to honor his master who spoke the way Yoda does. Also Minch is around the same age Yoda would have been at that time at least. It's unlikely that Minch would by chance speak the same as Yoda when none of the other members of their species do besides Yoda and especially since Yoda merely adopted this to respect someone from a species that we never see.

Of course, it would take hundreds of years to become better, but it seems that the older, or earlier you came, the worse you were in comparison. It's if saying that they learned from their ancestor and became better overcoming the obstacles that they're ancestors couldn't overcome.

The "Most Powerful" is inconsequential as it pertains to the Force. The Force simply is and like water it seeks level/balance. Light or Dark. Weak or Strong matters not. As a powerful ally, Force sensitives are conduits of its will. Hence, Whills. To attain Mastership is to deny personal will to allow Balance attainment. This is the highest expression of Force connection. Heightened abilities come down to techniques acquired. Gray Force is the most powerful of all. For within it Force Balance is the only allowable absolute.

Grogu, having become traumatized by witnessing a "Powerful Jedi" like Anakin slaughtering younglings, is his motivation for rejecting Luke Skywalkers offer to further his training. His connection will still develop without the stifling dogma of the Jedi order. Young Grogu will most likely develop Gray Force like Ahsoka Tano which should be exciting to watch unfold as the saga continues...

Mace and secura got utterly humiliated by maul with the darksaber compared to qui gon that had to fend him off solo on tatooine. You could say forms make fights and that soresu is a counter to djem so but soresu is only as good as the practitioner, obiwan for example went in to the Jedi temple after 66 and was unscathed(he did have yoda with him), compared to master bilaba who was gunned down in seconds by clones.
