Wow! it’s amazing how you give always a solution for restoring the figures. In each video I am surprised by your restorations, you are a genius friend, congratulations from Mexico 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great work, Dave!👍 The ponchos really make all the difference with these figs and these turned out exceptionally well. The process is a bit tedious with all the sowing but it’s still extremely simple. Thank you for more amazing content, sir.🙏
Top notch video Dave ole boy. I suspect that if I attempted this project, it would wind up looking like the Fred Flintstone's outfit, LOL. Keep bringing the videos PLEASE. I pick up ideas of my own with each one of them. Hope all is well with you and yours. Have a great one my friend.
Love it, I voted for this video because I’ve had the fabric for mine which I have no original in hand to go by. It’s been 2 years, I’m going to try this finally. Thanks for your tips!
Great tutorials. Has anyone ever thought using the helmet from the Endor rebel soldier... the later blue EPII packaging. I have and fits well looks good for fraction of the price if your not bothered about 100% accuracy. Infact I think its an improvement
There’s certainly no mistaking these from originals. I think the camo marker looks better on the inside. Maybe draw them on inside out? I would have dyed the Leia in an acrylic paint wash first.
I bought a repro Endor luke poncho off an eBay seller -- and damn it looks pitch-perfect! even the material looks and feels authentic. I also grabbed a repro belt that also looks and feels authentic. If only this video was out 3 months ago I might have taken a different track! Thank you.
Cable tie is a great idea, the buckle part of it you could pretend it’s a little ammo/utility pocket especially possibly paint some detail on it to add a texture illusion
A very impressive and effective fix. The complexity of this one is surprisingly high; the amount of creativity and work that goes into a little poncho is incredible! Once again Toy Polloi has rescued some figures and really improved them. I wonder if you could add the little belt pouches to the zip ties with milliput, or perhaps even adding a couple extra zip tie connectors cut from other zip ties (maybe sanding them down a bit)? In any event it looks awesome and takes some figures from plain to wonderful. Great work as always!
Well done, they look great! For the belt, you could turn the cable-tie inside out, so that the serrations are on the outside and not engaging with the locking tab. Would be easier to remove and they still stay together, usually. Also, the lump would be in towards the cape and maybe less visible. Haven't tried it, but it might be an alternative way of doing it.
Would it make the sewing easier if you attached the unsewn hood to the unsewn cloak at the neck first (that way you could likely hold it and sew it in as more of a straight line as opposed to dealing with the tiny circle) then sew the back seems up at the same time as one long straight line? I hope I'm explaining my thought right... either way, Excellent and super helpful video!
Excellent video! I have been waiting for this for along time! I did not know there are holes on Leia's cape for the belt, have to take a look at my Leia Endor Poncho.
Great video! Doing this ASAP! Would have never thought of using a cable tie as a belt. Brilliant! I've dyed toy knit before to match the colors a bit more. I dyed it to match the color for the General Lando cape. Going to see what color toy knit fabric I have left and buy some Rit dye to match it close enough to make Luke's poncho.
On the leia, try to stick the cloth to a piece of A4 paper, you might be able to print the camo to it. I’ve printet onto cloth for lego sails and so on before.
Definitely one i might try myself, i would seek an alternative to the Zip Tie (maybe some 3mm flat black elastic) i just prefer something a bit more generic + no square lump at the reverse of the figure, but the Poncho's themselves really do look extremely convincing, Great job!
I took my Luke poncho and put it on my Mercion cleric figure because I lost her tabard years ago. Nice job you did! Sorry, just realized mine is actually the cape from Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight Outfit) Return Of The Jedi
Do you have any tips or video on smoothing out areas where people have pried open an old toy and left gaps? Sometime the gaps are raised. I was thinking a plastic binder and some sandpaper/polish?
Great fix, Dave! I have a question based on the Luke figure - Is it possible to swap his head with that of a Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure? I ask, because it always annoyed me that the Jedi figure is in the clothes he wears in Jabba's palace, but the Endor figure wears the correct gear for the 'Final Duel', but has a non removable helmet. Do they have the same head fixings, so that a 'boil and pop' can be attempted?
What you’re doing here is great. You’ve given these toys a second life, which I think is pretty cool.
Thanks so much!
Now Like is properly attired, he can take on the whole Empire! Great job! 👍
Very nice. I did not know it was possible to "paint" fabric without making a huge mess. Thanks Dave.
The amount of work that went into that luke poncho is amazing. What a great job.

I actually like your Luke poncho more than the original, Good work! The color seems a bit more accurate .
Always look forward to your vids!
This is Fantastic! Thank you for showing us how and the templates. Now I just need to get cracking and get my Endor Luke a proper poncho.
Very welcome!
Hey Dave
Another great tutorial.
Liking the sewing and cutting tunes, especially the original one🙂
Take care of Yourself
Thank you sooo much. I've been looking forward to this video since you first teased it on Facebook.
You are so welcome!
Fantastic. Looking really convincing. Keep up the good work. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Your work is brilliant.
Top work! That took some dedication.

Good idea I use regular cheap marker to draw Camouflage pattern on Plastic and filled in it with paint
Those look really good! 👍
Always a pleasure Dave, thanks mate. Ross
I just love your videos with you fixing a toy. The unboxings of donations not that much because I get jealous. ^^
Glad you like them!
Awesome work again Dave. Brought them back to life.
You are so creative! Nice work!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for the link to the fabric. I have searched for this so long and found nothing.
Thanks Dave. Great sewing skills.

Looks like good material to make improved cloaks for Jedi figures. The first Plo-Kloon figure has a plastic/rubber cape which renders him unposable.
Well done, they look great!

Very Cool Brother. Thanks for sharing Your Fun😀👍❤🇨🇦🇬🇧🎉🎉👏👏👏👏🎉🎉💯💯
Very effective and well done for the fiddly needle point!
We have a camouflage here in america called atacs foliage or atacs fg. It looks a lot like the camouflage from the movie
Those are fantastic!!
Awesome!!! How about making an endor solo trench coat?
better than new
great idea , also you can buy lego endor helmets that would fit leia
That's a good idea. I'll have to try that.
Excellent video! I have been waiting for this for along time! I did not know there are holes on Leia's cape for the belt, have to take a look at my Leia Endor Poncho.
A lot of people don't know what the holes are for. They often out the arms through. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers
Fashion skill level 100%:)
Very nice
Awesome video Mr. Dave!!!! I wonder if you were to soak Leia's cape in some green food color if that would pick up the tint.
You might be able to dye the fabric, worth a try.
I would recommend a fabric die and make sure it has been thoroughly washed before you let it around the figure.

Have to admit the buckle of the cable tie actually looks like an ammo pouch on his belt.. Win, win in my book!
Thanks! Can you please, please show us Starbuck's and Adama's cape?

How about leaving the neon green fabric in the sun to fade it a bit?
It's actually far easier to sew the hoods down to the cape bodies first, and sew the entire back opening line up to and including hood last.
Amazing how you create and fix. Can you show how to fix Hot Toys Chris Reeve Superman figure?
Thanks. Those figures are a bit modern for me.
@@toypolloi thanks for your answer. Great work.
I use survival kit belts. Bit more than a cable tie, but way cheaper than an original endor poncho.
I'd forgotten about those. None in my collection as I don't see them often at all.
Loving them matey
Any reason why there is that slit cut at the back of the poncho? Was it to make it easier to sew on a machine?
I think that is most likely why. It also gives a bit of shape to the back of the poncho.
I think this just leaves Bib Fortuna's robe as the only one you haven't done yet.
Edit: Just remembered Trench Coat Han.
There are a few more than that. Another cape video in the next few weeks for one not mentioned here. Cheers
@@toypolloi Prune face? I imagine you could probably improve on the original. One of the worst capes in the vintage line.
I think I would sew the hoods onto the poncho before I sewed the hoods closed it you get my drift
Sorry for this stupid question but I just bought a y wing, and I don’t know which r2-d2 to put in it. Is it a special one? Please help. Thanks.
Any vintage R2 or R5 will fit in there. Cheers
@@toypolloi thank you as always man!

Yes Dave did a video on your question look in his channel playlist Star Wars repair and restoration
I've already covered that one a while back. Here is a link: th-cam.com/video/NXDDa6K62qA/w-d-xo.html
@@horrorfan1455 Thank you!
@@toypolloi Thank you!
Can you imagine your employment at Kenner, sewing tiny clothes for star wars figures all day?
Looks really cool!!! Definitely punches them up. Wish Luke's helmet was removable originally. Lost easily or not.
Wow. Had these when I was little. The minute the ponchos were on it was 1985 to my eyes.
Would fabric glue be an option for attaching the hood and collar to the ponchos?
Sewing is better and how they were originally made.
Your original Lea's poncho is longer in the back than the front.
Tou should si stop Motion animated short film
It's not on the dark side. It's not on the light side. It's on the tricky side.
To paraphrase a line from another franchise - Toy- Polloi , when someone asks you if you are a god, you say YES !!
Broken Vader was enjoying the video up until the cable ties.
