Looks really cool. My one concern (since I haven't read it yet) is that these new classes seem like they could be a lot more powerful than the core classes, which would then make the core classes obsolete. Are the new ones balanced enough where they won't outshine the core classes?

personally, I am thinking of playing a Investigator Archetype Empiricist, Were the Investigator is basically Sherlock Holmes on speed Empiricist make it just a bit more Sherlocky for me. Investigators are classified as rouge alchemist but they are really week alchemist and week rouges with only less sneak attack and the down side of only being about to use it once/enemy/day. Meaning they will not use it as much as rouges. Were they shine though is they get accesses to nearly every skill (exception are Fly, Handle Animal, Swim, and Ride.) I'm not sure why they don't have Swim as it is a Rouge skill. They also get access to all Alchemist and Rouge talents as well as a list of a bunch of great new Investigator talents. They can also use and make poisons effectively. They get trap finding and sensing like Rouges. In they get what is called inspiration. Inspiration is what will make investigators better then any other class at both skills, saves and attacks. It allows them to add a d6 to there d20 a number of times each day equal to 1/2 there level + there int mode. On top of that they can add half there level to any attacks that they study first. Studying is also only a move action and you can only do it once/enemy/day, but that is the attack you get to add to your sneak attack (called Studied strike) to. On top of that if you miss the first time you try to hit you can try again with the same advantage up to you int mod number of rounds. While the investigator do have weak alchemist and rouge abilities what really makes them shine is the extra flavor they gave them. It makes them completely different then Alchemist and Rouges. I wouldn't say they are necessarily more powerful or unbalanced though. both Alchemist and Rouges have accesses to things that are less assessable to investigators. The investigator has to make a more choices rather to take alchemist, rouge or even investigator talents ever other round after 3rd. Meaning each Investigator is likely to look very different. But basically less rouge like then a normal rouge and less alchemist like then the traditional alchemist and much more knowledge and skill based then either of the other two.

I'm thinking of going for the Investigator. I do like the alchemy class (even though I have yet to play one) so I think it's my hybrid of choice. -D
