Some people at garage sales just want to get rid of stuff and are happy with a little money. They don’t need the money, so you are paying them to take out the stuff they don’t want! It’s a win win.
I agree, she just wanted to get rid of it - have someone haul it away…some people give stuff away for free, same mindset -they just don’t want to be bothered.
TRICK! FOR REMOVING STAINS FROM WHITE CLOTHING. WITHOUT BEACH - oxiclean Powder & Spray. (Really tough stains take a 5gal bucket & add 2 full scoops & soak clothing up to 8 hrs over night & machine wash. This can work for hand wash only items too just finish the cycle by hand [just make sure hand wash only items are worth your time cleaning -items min. $40-50]) -2nd thing that will help is a tide stick Remember to dissolve cleaners in Warm/Hot water but soak & wash items in COLD WATER. Cold water helps not set stains. Also detergent & white vinegar & baking soda. Good Luck Selling 👍
I also forgot borax. If none of these methods really work than you're kinda screwed & not worth it. The only ways around a stained item is to throw it out or dye it another color( which I have done before on light color items ) use Rit DyeMore on items that would look good in a grey, dark brown or black color. I have experience dying fabrics so may not be your cup of tea. Again it has to be worth the time to do the process for me to even do it. Im not gonna dye a pair if $15 capris.
You would be totally amazed at using peroxide, dawn dish detergent, and baking soda. I just use whatever quantity I want to make up the paste to a slightly runny consistency. However, once you mix it up, you need to keep it in a cabinet away from light, because of the peroxide. You can also store it in a dark container, like the peroxides brown container. I was able to get some very old stains out of a white shirt. I did not see the stains, I was rushing and the items were $.50 each. I decided to just to try out this new hack that I saw online. I took the time to try to get the stain out. Pretty incredible! My suggestion is to saturate that area that has the stain, either take a spoon or your fingernail and scrape into the fibers to make sure that this product gets down into the fibers. Let it sit for a few hours. Add a little more product to it if it starts to get dry and give it a good scrub with your fingernail or whatever so that you don’t create peeling on the shirt by being too abrasive. I’ve had astounding results.
Chris is not dismissive. He is brutally direct and matter of fact: this way because it works and you know it. Therefore, you will either do it or shut up and leave. Turning your two dollars into four takes the same thing all over the planet. 98.27% of all success is in this phrase; successful people do what everyone else will not do. Listen to Chris.
I think you should start the debt challenge at around $10,000. Most people have at least that in credit card debt. That would be a really good challenge that I would watch! I'm around 5k in credit card debt and slowly climbing my way out. 💪
chris did so much for me. thanks bro. his videos helped to set up my ebay bussiness solid from the start, avoiding silly mistakes. from inventory to serving the algorithm by listing everyday. here you can find 100% quality content. chris and tech are LEGIT. i was gutted when he was suspended, but the bounce back. also a lesson. man, some samurai shit.
so true about things being "easy" since i have kids at home i crave for easy so i don't get stressed but now i see it won't get me as far as going all in .. thx
A huge majority of people prefer buy it now due to instant gratification and lack of patience. Who wants to wait in this modern day 7 day auction including shipping time to get a pair of Levi's. Auctions are great for rare items.
Well I think you should do is figure out how you can have your own selling platform and we can sell through you! I would sell my items on your platform. Get yourself a good designer try it out I’ll be a beta
I made AUD $200,000 k profit in 7 years. Very slow & bad. Things doesn't move untill Christmas.i want to empty my inventory. Sell at least 5-10 item a day
hey chris, what printer should i use. how about shelf? how about accounting? how about ebay my store, should i have one. how about bubble wrap and rollo printer? promo fees? great stuff.
This was several months ago now but I would suggest debt being around 3k My personal experience - I "bought" some items on credit around the start of the pandemic BELIEVING they would sell well and fast - not checking sell through rates - I didn't know about sell through them. It has been my plan to pay these funds - it IS a struggle.
I’m ALL IN for the debt challenge! Let’s start tomorrow! Please hurry and create the content, I’m SO ready to make this work!! Will it be for paying members only, I hope not.
I am mostly retail arbitrage (handbags). Oh have about 10 that have been for sale way too long. Should I just keep reducing the price or should I mail to another company to try to sell - like Thredup? thanks for all your valuable info.
Clean the white shirt with Purex Naptha bar soap and then used Oxiclean White Revive. I've never had the colors on a white shirt get damaged by Oxiclean. Clorox For Colors will help with some stains on white, too. Run through the washing machine three times if you have to.
Chris, can you do a video on financing your business, as in financing your inventory or employees or growth? You must have some extra knowledge to give us regarding how to acess cheaper or better financing/capital. You can sponser the hell out of the video too because most of us will be interested in which companies or products we can access to give us better financing. In my business, I recently learned to never spend less than $100 on any inventory for my business? Why? Because when I spend $100 or more, I can finance my purchase with inerest rates that are 3X Cheaper than normal. All my credit cards offer term financing at 4 - 6% instead of 20% as long as I spend $100 or more per transaction. I never thought about doing that, but now I learned its better to spend at least $100 each time.
Chris, if people are looking up your home address they need to learn boundaries. 😆 But for real, I agree with the UPS Store assessment because I got a PO Box when I started and now looking back I should have went with UPS Store. I got a flyer with their rates listed last time I dropped off an Amazon return so I'm considering adding that in too. Anyone know if UPS Store address can count as your address on Amazon for selling? I don't want my house address listed, it looks unprofessional and ya some people are creeps.
I'm starting with $6200 in debt because I lost my vehicle, job, and then someone bought a car for me to use to start my business while paying it off in payments.
I think the comment that Chris made saying that the seller was lazy because they don't have goodwill bins and are asking for ideas to sell "cheaper" products that they CAN find - is rude. I live in a rural area and can't afford to spend $30+ in gasoline to drive to the nearest large city and visit multiple stores in the HOPES to find hundreds of dollars worth of items to BUY to then travel back home and take pics, list and hope they all sell well... So my ONLY option is to find whatever I can in my local small town and resell it for a profit. No, I will not be able to make a living on it, but I hope to be able to pay down or off my debts and have money for paying other bills.
I live in rural Georgia and we have 1 Goodwill store within an hour of us. I was trying to source there this past weekend and the pricing has gotten even worse that before! I found a used pair of kids Croc’s for $12.52 LOL
Goodwill has jacked their prices up significantly. They're entitled to charge whatever they'd like but it's definitely frustrating going in there anymore. I picked up a small flip lid trashcan in one of my local Goodwills a few weeks back. It was quite dirty but worked and fitted the space I needed it for. Well, when I read the price I saw $1.99 (though the sticker was very faded). I get to the register and the lady says it was $7.99!! I took a second look and she was right... I told them they could keep it. I could get a brand new one across the street at Walmart for only a few dollars more. I was willing to clean up the cruddy one but not for that price. Clothes are also going up more each time I'm in there it seems. Thankfully I still have decent luck and will generally find 2 or 3 clothing pieces that I can flip for a decent profit. I never see myself reaching the level of this guy. I just try to do my best to make a little bit of money. Being in a rural area makes things more difficult too.
BIN is no go for my items. They languish. I raise the price and put on auction and they sell at a much higher rate---not racing to the bottom. The BIN never seem to sell under six-twelve months.
Do you do buy it now at a high price aling with the auction, it want to try your idea. I do buy it now at lowest price on ebay compared to like condition item, that has worked best for me, but I might like to try your idea on one of a kind items with no comparables that arent selling
Hi Chris, I would like to ask your opinion how I set up my shipping price if I send away my items ps clothes, videogames, DVDs not from US. I am living in Israel. Thanks your response.
Lowest price on ebay will usually get first sale, if you arent desperate for the sale right now and can wait longer then play around with higher prices, customers could be purchasing higher priced items because you are near them and want quicker shipping, there are rich customers on Ebay who really dont care about price, there are customers who dont know how to use the search, some customers assume a higher price is better in quality or service and they want the best for themselves. You could create two listings for the item, titles just a bit different and test the higher price vs low price option out for yourself
I would never buy from someone who puts random CAPS in the middle of a word, I also would never give them a job! Makes the writer look uneducated and lacks all professionalism.
@Daily Refinement Not everyone can or even wants to buy pallets of clothes to sell for a dollar or $2 profit for each item....driving prices down with a race to the bottom on the platform. I prefer working smarter....not harder. Im satisfied with 10+ sales a day at $30-$50+ profit per item. Being more picky about what I buy and therefore working fewer hours for more money. No....I don't understand the desire to sell thousands of clothing items for a couple bucks profit just to turn around and use the money to pay for all the overhead it takes to do that volume. Nope...not worth it.
I think your sound is waaay too low. I have my volume on the video to 100%, my computer volume is set to 100% and you're still too softly spoken to hear if I am not right in front of my computer.
changes you made did not help me - I think it would help if you recorded at a much, much higher volume and let us adjust it down, if needed. You're smart and informative and I would love to listen to you while I do other things; but, at the low volume that is impossible. I find all of your videos to be much too quiet. Most other youtubers I have to turn down the volume on.
Are you not on eBay because you're choosing not to be on eBay or are you no longer able to sell on eBay it seems somebody and your tear in such a very knowledgeable person providing all this information helping us with eBay and you're not on eBay kind of confuses me could you help me out with that
He got a permanent suspension from eBay. eBay wanted proof of purchase for high dollar sneakers. He has a few videos on the situation. Checkout his videos from 4-5 months ago
I was $1600 in debt and $1500 in cash when I started 5mon ago now I sell 5k a month with a 50% profit margin so not bad. And still growing!
Where are you now?
I'm also very curious! How was your 2nd year??

Watched all your videos, most informative out of anyone’s TH-cam I have seen. T.y. so much my son learned a lot.
Thank You!
I did similar with baking soda, peroxide and hot water on a cotton Burberry shirt. Worked amazingly well!
The thumbnail is very funny

I would say that $1000 in debt is pretty low for your average American. I would start more with $5000 to $10,000

Where is the skill share link? Ive not been seeing the links in comments or descriptions on the videos
Do I need an ebay store or is just having an account enough at the beginning? Thanks
in this chat we want to talk about everything but listing. hilarious

who should i do if another seller has the same item for cheaper ? lower my price to match ?

No, make your listing better by an optimized title and at least 7 quality photos

Sounds like you would be driving prices on ebay down for everyone by offfeing cut throat pricing. Thanks 🙄
Kinda glad you're not selling on ebay
