I googled this information. This isn't actually true, Ford has simply announced a timeline pushback on new modles by 2 years, so the evs that were meant to come in 2025 are now coming in 2027, theres many so called articals about this on the Internet but not one by a known/respected publisher also no announcement on ford official website or any official statement from ford 😮😮😮

@GuidedMinistries Agreed. I should have read your post before I added my comment a minute ago. I included Ford's website and copied and pasted the intro to what they're doing.
From what I could see, they're taking big steps to produce more EVs, including an all-new electric commercial vehicle for Ford Pro customers beginning mid-decade.
Good on you for fact checking as well.
As for Tesla's stock market "crash", They are down $39.64 compared to a year ago. In the past 6 months, they're up $32.80. And in the last 5 years, they're up $206.04
The market fluctuates on a daily basis. As I suggested in my comment before reading yours ... check the source. Obviously you have done that, but this channel hasn't. Theyr'e just looking for clicks it seems.
I hope more people double check this misinformation before commenting.

…and in 2 years they will push back again. The bottom line is EV’s are not profitable to sell and they are not practical for 90% of drivers in the USA

@@naps3386 This video is a trash piece filled with lies. Nice hearing from people who no nothing about current EV's by EXPERIENCE! Guess you forget that Tesla makes a profit. Guess you forget GM is now making a profit on EV's. The new Equinox starts at $35k which is $27,500 with the $7,500 for US production. Our Bolt averages over 5.2 miles per KWH, costs us less than 2 cents a mile to run. I can (and have) sat in an hour long traffic jam at 105 degrees using only 8 cents worth of energy, staying nice a cool and comfortable inside. I can do that for over 60 hours if I absolutely had to and still drive at least 100 miles without another charge. Most gas powered vehicles would have emptied the tank long before that, and maybe even overheated. Knowing nothing, you haven't experienced driving a car with maximum torque at ANY speed. I also smoked many a supposedly fast ICE. We have never gotten as low as the EPA/GM rating of 259 miles. We average over 330 miles, and have gotten over 400 miles. The lowest we have gotten on a road trip has still been over 280 miles. That was still with 10% left on the charge.
I bought an EV because they are practical. and I couldn't have bought a car with the interior space and the acceleration, nor anywhere near the efficiency for the $23,500 I paid for a new Bolt, out the door, after the rebate.
They are already good, and cheaper to run. They are also going to be getting even better, cheaper, and more efficient.
When you have no experience, keep your lack of knowledge to yourself. I wonder if you had an ancestor that said, "Get a horse!", when they saw their first car.

Misleading video. Way I read Fords announcement the factor in Canada that was going to be converted to EV's is going to be changed to meet demand for ICE heavy duty pickups. Still producing EV's. EV plant to be built later this century.
Toyota is developing a new battery and will be hitting the EV marked with several vehicles over the next few years.
As for fires a insurance study group using figures from the NTSB going with fires per 100,000 vehicles found that electric vehicles had the lowest number, ICE vehicles in the middle and Hybrid the highest risk. When there is a EV vehicle fire it makes national headlines and get the attention of everyone especially people that post these type of videos. I live in a small community, 4,000 add in surrounding district 8,000 people. Are local fire department two years ago took training how to extinguish electrical fires. Yes they take a different attack mode but so do propane and natural gas vehicles.
Best data I could find on repairs after a collision have EV repairs ranging between 2 - 4% higher but the same data showed that EV claims overall were 19% lower.
My thought as EV's are predominantly newer they have a lot more gadgets that have to be adjusted from cameras to radar systems. For instance my current car to repair the windshield is considerably higher than my older pickup due to adjusting the camera on the windshield. If I break a mirror they have to replace or adjust the blind spot monitor. Never needed that before.
Now I don't now that many people with electric cars. The oldest I think is a 2013 maybe 14. I live in the B.C. interior. Been a few years but we can hit -40C, last winter lowest was -26C. The person with the 13 or 14 says the deterioration in the battery is negligible and really can't be measured. He claims his car last winter had a reduction of about 25% on the coldest days in the distance he can travel. It is a fair amount but even gas or diesel vehicles see a reduction. For my car I saw a 3.7L/100 increase in fuel consumption.
Recalls about the same as ICE vehicles. Apparently the electrics seem to do more updating by download. The people I know are happy with their vehicles and will replace with another electric. One is waiting for a Silverado electric as a replacement for his gas lease that will come up in the late fall. Making them an all electric family.
One thing I wonder about in this video we hear how they cannot sell the vehicles they are producing. If that is the case why are people waiting months to get their vehicle? My next door neighbour order a IONIQ 6 last fall and is still waiting for delivery.

Hybrids double the drive units...double the maintenance...ice is nice

    • @michaelanders6161
      @michaelanders6161 หลายเดือนก่อน

BEVs have least maintenance of all and less cost long-term. Plus, EV initial cost continues to fall, while ICE vehicles get ever more complex and costly. Dealerships love to promote ICE because the bulk of their profits is in their service departments, which ICE vehicles need a lot of.
I will give you this much, though. 2024 in the U.S. is a dumb year to buy an EV. 2025 will be better, 2026 even better...for cars. For EV trucks, more like 2030. Competitive selection is still in its infancy.

There is a basic concept in technology. Whenever a technology has to get very complicated to achieve a goal, a simpler, more efficient technology will replace it. If dragging out a technology as far as it can be developed and not adopting something simpler and better was the goal, we would still be using steam engines, rather than diesel electric and purely electric locomotives. By the 1930's, steam locomotives had gotten more complex, yet still required far more maintenance than what replaced them.
ICE's now require complicated systems that are very expensive to maintain over time. Computerized electronic fuel injection systems. 10 speed automatic transmissions, turbochargers, etc.
A BEV is a much simpler device. One gear for the transmission. Far fewer parts. As the technology matures, they will also be much easier to do such things as replace a bad battery module. Some manufacturers are already making that efficient. Batteries in the modern EV's, such as Tesla, and the Bolt, (yes, the Bolt) are lasting well past 200,000 miles with little range degradation. Some owners have exceeded over 300k so far. As with any device, proper care extends life.

As a first adopter, having owned the very first hybrid Honda Insight Gen 1, and currently driving a Chevy Volt (gen 2), I drive 40k miles per year and live in upper Midwest. I know what I’m talking about when I say that electric SUV’s and picky trucks will not be viable for the vast majority of their market. An electric vehicle needs to be optimized for drag and weight, neither of which is accomplished in SUV’s and pickups. That is the bottom line. If you never intend on driving on the highway for more than a few miles at a time, if you don’t need to drive in freezing temperatures for 6 months, then EV’s are viable, you could even “get away with” an electric truck or SUV, but if you plan on towing…forget about it.

    • @LeanNSteerKayaks
      @LeanNSteerKayaks หลายเดือนก่อน

I think the optimum weight for an EV is 3000-4000 pounds if you want stunning efficiency. 5000 pounds drags down efficiency to around 3.5 to 4 miles per KWH. That still makes it cheaper to run than most equivalent gas cars, but I don't think it is enough to get everyone out their gas powered cars. I'd rather see over 4 miles per kwh out of a medium sized SUV. We get far better than that, averaging 5.2 miles per kwh over 13k miles. (Though rare, I even got 6.9 miles per kwh recently for a 220+ mile charge in our Bolt. I also got over 6.5 a few other times.)
However, if they sat through a traffic jam in an EV and compared that to being in even an efficient ICE, most would quickly change their mind. Otherwise, I semi-agree, but the introduction of heat pumps makes winter driving as efficient as summer driving. When those are adopted fleet wide to the cars, we will see a dramatic improvement in winter driving ranges. Summer driving with electric AC is quite efficient. Once the cabin is cooled, our Bolt uses no more energy than it does in cooler weather. That is because the AC is really on all the time and has cooling circuits to the motor and battery pack. My brother reports the same with his Hyundai Ioniq 5. Even in the summer heat of Texas, we get 5.2 to 5.6 miles per KWH. The lower figure is if we make a bunch of short 2-3 mile trips in the afternoon heat. I liked the Volt, but it is behind in efficiency when compared to the Bolt, or the Tesla Model 3, or the Hyundai Ioniq 6, or even the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that my brother owns.
My brother has driven his Ioniq 5 over 35k miles in the 20 months he has owned it, including trips up to around 1200 miles.
Infrastructure is the real problem. I consider the state of charging is about on the level of where we were in the early 1920's for gasoline powered cars.

EVs and hydrogen without infrastructure are junk.
Hybrids are the best short term answer until batteries and infrastructure catch up.The Steam engine went extinct in the 40s and diesel electric locomotives have been their replacement since them. Diesel electric IS a hybrid !!! Today, Edison Motors has a succesful hybrid logging truck that beats the Tesla in both power and fuel economy and most importantly, and it is lighter than the standard trans truck NRA. No range anxiety.
Get it straight .. The infrastructure TODAY CAN NOT support EVs or hydrogen but hybrids can and are doing it with no infrastructure change with BETTER FUEL ECONOMY WITH PROVEN TECHNOLOGY

False post. Ford has NOT shut down evs. They are shifting the main thrust of their buildout strategy to more cost-efficient models. EV industry, still in relative early stages, has become cutthroat-competitive. Ford is pivoting its strategy to try to avoid being destroyed by the likes of BYD and Tesla. With GM and Tesla both set to launch (in GM's case, RE-launch) affordable models, and with Hyundai/Kia close behind, even with Chinese models artificially blocked from the U.S. market for now, Ford realized it had to pivot and offer an affordable option of its own. They are promising a $25K competitor in the next 2 years. That is not a shut-down.

But I agree that EVs are "good enough": EVs don't need all the government coercions that compel ordinary consumers, who aren't buying EVs, to help reduce EV sale prices and ensure profits for EV manufacturers. Ensure the market dictates who wins and who loses, rather than the government, and we will all enjoy the best vehicles for our needs regardless what drives them.

The video is very biased, sensationalist, and only partially informative. Automakers have waited too long to develop electric vehicles (EVs). By 2035, all new vehicles sold in the EU must be EVs. Additionally, many cities aim to be fossil-free by 2030. This has led to car manufacturers hastily developing electric models, which explains the current issues with EVs. Tesla has proven that an electric car must be built from the ground up. Other automakers lack Tesla's years of experience. Rushed work rarely leads to good results.
