Use this little impact for working on diesel engines, gets into more areas that the bigger impacts can’t. Impressed by the power compared to its size. I use the oil resistant 3ah mainly with it and no problems at all.
Good review , the tool is awesome , small , compact , strong , great for lawn mower blades , brake jobs , or putting things together that require nuts and bolts , for 99 bucks with the bag batteries, charger that also charges 20v batteries , and extra 5 amp battery is a steal! I going to get the small impact this weekend if they will have the 5 amp batteries in stock ,
@@toolsonabudget7763 right now, the kit is $99, but there's a promotion where you get the $80 5ah battery for free. My area is sold out, and not going to restock the 5ah battery. The first Lowes I went to would not discount the price of the battery off the price of the tool. The second Lowes however, allowed the $80 to be taken off the price of the $99 tool kit
Great tool. I agree about the tire shops over tightening this lug nuts. I had a bauer 450 impact wrench that couldn't take the lug off. I had to use a breaker bar with a 3 feet tube to take them off crazy. Now I have the Milwaukee high torque every time I come from the tire shops I loosen and re torque them to factory specs.
You're a smart guy. You are correct about shops over torquing lug nuts. Actually lug nuts should never be torqued more than you can remove with the tire tool that you keep in your car. If you ever have a flat tire and need to change it on the side of the road, you'll know why.
This exactly! We could get the nuts loose on my buddy's Jeep after he got a flat and we were jumping on the wrench trying to break them loose. I was shocked the studs didn't sheer off
Dumbass people think that tighter the better. Because they think your wheel will fall off😂 idiots. Oh hey let me put my impact in lvl 3 and go for it🤦🏽♂️
I think your right about the issue of lug nuts being torqued too tight for this thing. I on my old car would just snug my lugs with a breaker bar, nothing crazy though. I had one of these and I HATED it cuz It couldn't take them off. Part of my problem is living in very salty rusty conditions. I could never seem to get much of anything off with it, I think I ended up using it more for small quarter inch size stuff than anything. I ended up upgrading to a half inch DCF901. I love that little thing. This one really would be handy though for smaller under the hood type things I think, anything bigger is probably gonna be beyond it I think.
I’ve used air 3/8 impact wrench and I have remove Lugnuts on cars so that’s the reason why I haven’t gotten any cordless impacts in order to get the power do you need? it’s like 2 1/2 inches longer and it weighs three or 4 pounds more then a 1/2 Air impact wrench but it is more convenient, but it will not work in a lot of situations, and being too bulky
@@terrellscaife2411 The one I upgraded to is still very small even compared to a lot of air guns and I could destroy lug studs with it if I cranked them on. All the newer compact Dewalts I highly recommend.
The way you are holding the impact wrench affects the correct outcome, since you aren't using 100% firm grip. You got to use your index finger not your thumb.
Hey thanks for the review but I noticed a small flaw in your testing, id put the bolt in the vice not the nut it could be causing a clamping force/ uneven pressure on side of the nut.
i thought that as well but even while clamped i can thread it very easily by hand so it seems to not affect it guessing since its a grade 8 bolt thanks though
So you gained 20 lbs with that extra battery. 14 percent increase isn’t bad. Im thinking of getting that battery and selling the impact wrench. (I already have it.)
Great review I got a kit just like this for Christmas wasn’t at all impressed bought a bauer from harbor freight that’s less than half the price 110xs better dewalt really gone downhill with these brushless tools
Right. Go with any dewalt and you’re absolutely golden my guy. Go any job site and look around. What do you see? DCF885 and Makita LXT (the brushed ones) everywhere. Hell most companies worth a damned that I see go with 8 885 over 2-4 other more powerful brushless impacts because they’re so damned cheap reliable that more drivers = bigger advantage than better performing drivers.
I just bought one DCF901 (i think is the same as this one), and now i am wondering if it would be enought for the kind of work that i intent too (High CC motorcycle work, like clutch nuts, sprocket nuts etc))
@@toolsonabudget7763 Thank you for your kind answer. I can't wait for it to get here. As soon as i test it, i will let you know how it goes with my bike work, it could be informative to others.
Yes you were totally right. Today i used the DCF901 to disassembly the clut ch of my bike and that 70nm nut was like butter to it. I am amazed of how good this tool is. I LOVE IT!
@@toolsonabudget7763 True that. I was amazed when i put this little wrench somehow skeptical about the performance, and it took that nut at busted it like it was nothing.
Thats if u use an adapter usually a bigger socket helps it get more torque because of the mass thats y the 19mm for the honda cranks is so massive i can test another size if u would like

The 5ah really shines on 100 ft lbs & under lug nuts compared to the 2ah. It knocks them loose much faster and will do all 5.
