My daughter lives in England and she uses the" time out " method as well. I can see that my grandchildren (8,9, and 11years old) are happy and well behaved kids. In Italy we used to scold a lot children but they always were nervous.

It's not always easy to stay calm and rationalise, but it's important to try our best and be informed on the studies around children's education and development. "English Like a Native": indeed a great title. I have always understood this phrase my own way. I don't think it is mandatory to be born in a British English speaking country to teach English and I'm sure that's not what Anna wanted to say. I just feel that it could be great being able to speak English with as much confidence and ease I speak in MY native language (which is BTW French). I don't feel a need to copy English native speakers, but I consider speaking fluently as a decent goal. And thanks to people like you, Anna and Luke, this seems to be a perfectly achievable goal, isn't it?
