Ragged Nail = Adrian Legg - It's an anagram of his name. He told us this in a living room in Orem, Utah about 15 years ago, give or take a little. What an incredible performance and he also shared with us his wonderful sense of humor. He's an excellent artist and it was an honor to witness in person.
Saw Adrian in a living room setting last Saturday. These videos show his great artistry, but see him in person! Absolutely mesmerizing! Anytime I play his CD's, I can see his live performance coming through.
I saw Adrian Legg at the "Schnitzer Concert Hall" (aka: the "Schitz") sometime in the early 1990's. I paid to see the G3 tour, which consisted of Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani... Adrian Legg played first, and as he was tuning up asked the crowd: "I'll bet nobody here knows who I am?'. Some guy a few rows down from me in the balcony shouted: "Adrian Legg"! There was scattered applause, and then he slayed us all with his wickedly beautiful guitar playing. He was playing an "Ovation" at the time, and had worked out the acoustics and volume perfectly - the sound was incredibly beautiful beyond anything words can describe. The "Schnitz" has excellent acoustics, which the G3 apparently hadn't considered, because they all played WAY too loud. Even so, Adrian Legg cut them all he did - slated them as he did us! He ruined them for me he did. I will NEVER forget the majestic majesty and shear brilliance of Adrian Legg's musicianship on that night... It was a concert I'll never forget - thanks to you Adrian Legg!!
Thanks for this great footage of an all-time great. I'm disappointed he's not getting many accolades at this stage of his career, but at least it allows us to see him in intimate venues like this. Cheers.
Wow, didn't know "Ragged Nail" was a rearrangement of his name! Saw his live a couple of times a long time ago and the 2nd time, I got to meet/talk to him. Really cool guy with a lot to say, verbally and musically! Easily the best guitarist I've ever heard, and ,believe me, I've heard a few!!!
