The AI mode is cool but I'd rather T hunt just get updated and kept in the game. Was using it as my warmup for 6-7 years now, nothing beats killing 50+ guys per match. The AI mode is only useful for new players so I think it's something that should stay but not replace T hunt.
I used to play T Hunt with all my friends and it was actually fun. The defender ai needs some serious work, but its ubisoft, they remove shit that people use and replace it instead of just adding a new gamemode without having to remove a feature that people actually played, even if it was buggy as hell. It was still fun.
I bought this game for mostly the PVE experience and PvP for me is just an addition. Back in the day thunt has bomber, c4, enemy throwing nade which was the fun time of siege. Instead of expanding it by adding more challenge in thunt they reduced it. I do play PVP back then, but it got extremely stressful. Thunt has become the source of fun and renown earning for the past few years, now they removed fun and force us to play PVP which they should know not all player are comfortable with it.
I like thunt a lot but Ubisoft definitely doesn’t need to cater to people who prefer it over the actual game. It was a fun warmup but it was never intended to be a large part of the experience.
t hunt was genuinely fun, so many options; warmup, playing on realistic with your boys and replaying until you can counter their laseraim, etc. out of all the fucked ubisoft patches/updates, the removal of t-hunt takes the cake
For those wondering why T-hunt got removed, it got covered a bit in the reveal panel. The tech for T-hunt was super old and wasn't built to support all the new operators and maps + map reworks that keep getting added to the game. Every season a lot of time was dedicated to keeping T-hunt stable, so they finally dropped it so they could dedicate those resources to making better and more sustainable systems with the AI Playlist and Map Run. I definitely miss T-hunt too, but I could see the cracks starting to form in recent seasons (bots dying on spawn, not being able to handle certain gadgets, weird behaviour, etc.). I'd rather take the hit short term if it means they can use that time to make something better. Besides, Shooting Range is already better to practice aim.
Lots of time has to dedicate to keep T-Hunt stable? Is the time and resources Ubisoft got from cutting half the content not enough for them? We used to get 2 OPERATORS , NEW WEAPONS (at least 3), NEW MAPS, huge mid season balancing updates and reworks per season. Then they said we won't get anymore new weapons, less frequent new map in exchange for better quality of content. And what I only see what they have done are: • Only 1 map per year • Same gun getting reused again and again (Yes, the MPX) • Empty promises at the start of each year (I'm looking at you drone after death) • Questionable operator reworks (Why Frost instead of BlackBeard) • Gamemode changes which not only harms the creativity on strategy but also doesn't help new players learn the game (Quickplay 2.0 & Ranked 2.0) • Lazy operator balancing (1.5x scope and frags, though they seem better now) • Poor operator design (Fictional fractions wearing non-realistic uniforms, again improved but nowhere close) • And now T-Hunt, which is replaced by a still WIP VS AI mode (only 5 OG operators on 1 map vs the same 5 AI operators are you insane? And the map tutorial isn't a replacement either since you can't really test out the new gadget on different operator. VS AI shouldn't be released at this state) Please stop defending Ubisoft, they make money from this game, they are not a charity, they are well paid for it. No one hurries them to release an unfinished gamemode. They had all the time already, they made that better quality statement back in Year 3 and it's now coming to Year 9 already. Does this seem better quality to you? If so, that's probably why Ubisoft has became what it is right now.
I defend Ubisoft because for as long as I have personally been playing the game, I've seen improvement. It may not be the same quality as when the first year of siege, but hearing people complain that a game isn't the same as it was almost 9 years ago is getting seriously tiring. After a while I would prefer if we could at least try to have a good time, whatever Ubisoft does. Complaining about every little thing won't get us anywhere, and if anything, why would Ubisoft ever take us seriously if all their hear is complaints? Give them good feedback as well as bad, and they MIGHT actually listen. We got two maps last year, Emerald Plains was mid whatever the community says. Nighthaven Labs is good. This year, we got a Consulate rework which is a direct upgrade over old Consulate, people refusing to learn angles is not my problem. Lair seems like a good map as well. Getting new guns every season gets ridiculous after a while, there's only so many stats you can change before they start getting recycled. I'd rather have the MPX on the three operators we have, than a different gun with the exact same stats. This is the first time Maverick's DMR is being re used, this re using isn't nearly as bad as you're making it out to be. Empty promises, it's a business, and what the devs want and intend can get pushed aside by what the higher ups want. That's a fact of life that will never go away, not just in siege. I won't defend the Frost rework. Ranked 2.0 was an interesting idea that turned out to be crap. It was a mistake and they should undo it. I don't know what they were thinking with quick match. Operator balance and design is something that I have seen improve over my time with this game. Last year's ops looked atrocious, but this year Brava, Ram, and Tubarao all look great. AI has potential, but shouldn't have released in the state that's it's in. They teased it a year ago, and I am not pleased at how little we get for how long we waited. At this point, I wouldn't have minded if it got pushed back like the shield rework.
@@arika1005I agree with you. I used to play siege all the way back in op health and was playing when 2 operators got added each season one defense and one on attack or even when 2 got added on defense. When I came back to the game after 3 years of not playing and seen 1 op getting added every season it was so confusing. Like operation blood orchid or when alibi and maestro were first introduced to the game it seems they just completely stopped that. I wanna say it’s because of ubisoft focusing on different games so they reduced it to 1 operator every year but I’m not sure if they just got lazy while updating this game. Either way old siege was much better in my opinion and they should definitely bring back 2 ops every season siege was in a much better state.
Something I hope they bring from t hunt to this new AI training is headshot only. Really helps with crosshair placement and adjusting to the head when necessary.
Would've been better if they kept the t-hunt but gave them op abilities, like how they had thermite breach on attack and gave them abilities to make rotate. If they wanted to make it related to the plot, just make them deimos's soldiers who've copied gadgets of the operators since deimos is ex r6.
suggestion: create a video explaining what each mode is and then tell people to go watch that video if they don't know what one or the other is. This way your retention will be higher and people will not be inclined to click off the video thinking that they are just watching an explanation. Otherwise, Great Video!
You make a good point, but explaining everything was my way of future proofing it. If someone joins the game in like Y9S2, they may not know what T hunt is and search it up. As I explained everything, I essentially teach as much as is needed and give the comparison and conclusion in 10 minutes still. An extra video required to understand the 1st video to the full extent seems like a bit of work for people months into the future who don't have context. Even then, audience retention is at 44% in this video, which is rather good.
Maybe we should review the defenser AI each season just like Ubisoft does. They made the AI generally less aggro and they'll hide in corners instead of charging you more often; this doesnt even mention the new defenders Melusi and Alibi who make more cues for the other AI to act on.
The new defender AI is way better than when it first launched. I don't think I'll be reviewing them every season though, I have other content I'd like to make
i think vs ai has quite a bit of potential, we just gotta wait for the AI to be updated so we can play more than 5 operators. though i think T hunt shouldve stayed alongside it.

With defender AI its only 5 kills with a prep phase on only one map vs the 50+ you can get on t-hunt with any map; it literally feels like ten times more effective warm-up with t-hunt. Though I will say if defender AI loses the prep phase, gains more maps, and has more ops available then it could become a suitable replacement
Here’s what’s really crazy about the AI. They’re just using the AI that was in siege at launch. It can do a few more things than the ai at launch but it’s more or less the same
Personally i think that it is a great concept but it needs more maps, all the operatora ,and the ability to defend . But i will say that the defender ai is in beta
I hope they add a defender warm up as well so you can practice with those specific weapons or tricks like Bandit/Kaid tricking as well as increasing the map pool and allowing the use of every operator
The AI shit will warm you up 10x faster rather than walking in and mindlessly shooting at stationary bots. I think the AI would be better if they removed the drone phase and actually have the bots move constantly. The AI will only get you warmed up against coppers and bronzes. They do have diamond level accuracy, but after a few plays, you can predict what they will do. If you enter garage and shoot the one running through CCTV, then another one will pop out from Workshop. Smoke shotgun is the most OP shit that the bots have. However, no player uses shotgun that well with that much accuracy. The AI are way too slow as well. You may as well play Casual because the drone phase is too long.
Nice video overall, but i personally think the new AI playlist will be better than Thunt. Maybe it's not better right now, but it's in Beta for a reason. Onces it's finished, it will be the best tool to practice teamwork and teach the basics to your friends. Ubisoft said, they want to support Siege for the next 10 years. This is a really good start. I will miss Thunt, but I'm looking foward what Ubisoft cooks up with the new mode.
I think that's a very good way of looking at it, but in it's current state it is worse than T hunt. That being said, I enjoy playing this defender AI more than T hunt and I do hope that one day it will actually just be objectively better than T hunt
I wish for the AI that you got to play as a defender instead of just as an attacker seeing as how when you play an actual match you don’t just play as an attacker and they should switch out the defenders instead of the same 5 operators and they should add all the maps and do set ups differently instead of the exact same way every time and let you pick btwn any operator
they obviously will add more operators and maps, its just gonna take a while since the ai has to react to every operator in the game and their abilities
@@aceofspxdes756 I am ware of that but why didn’t they launch it as a regular match instead of just playing as an attacker I wouldn’t mind the challenge of doing a 5vs1 and I’m the only defender that’s the part that’s more annoying they easily could of done it as the opposite and still only do 5 operators on each side
Idk where people are getting this from but the defender ai shit is not the replacement for t-hunt, its the target drill. its not as good as t-hunt but it works well enough for warming up. defender ai is literally only for new players
When you remove the only PvE mode, and add a PvE mode in the same update, that's the replacement whether ubisoft says so or not. Target drill is so terrible that I'd rather just open Aimlabs, and I wanted an actual comparison so that's not what I chose to compare it to. If Defender AI was more complete in the sense of operators and maps, it would be the perfect place to try out strategies with your squad before you hop in ranked, skipping the step of having to que of with casual players who don't put proper rotates. Idk where you are getting this but it is not only for new players
ive honestly just downloaded an old build of siege and just been playing that, i get to have old mechanics that i like as well as just chill in thunts, the new ai is alright but waiting 45 seconds for droning is very frustrating for me personally
Why can't ubisoft just leave old cool stuff in the game tho, I understand maybe wanting to remove T hunt for cutting down on game file size but I feel like they could've just left it on for nostalgias sake.
Adding onto this, one of the reasons T hunt was cool was because it actually made some sense in terms of game story, this defender AI is just tutorial but nothing else.
@@Will-gd6df so why replace a "finished product" with a shittier "not finished product" instead of letting players choose which mode to play while updating the "not finished product"?
I just can not wrap my head around why Ubisoft doesn't just implement AI mode without removing T Hunt. Or at least remove it for a while for people to try out AI and then let everyone decide what suits them better. But it's Ubisoft so I'm not gonna spend any more time wondering.
Defender ai might not suck a year from now, but as it stands the ai are just dumb, sit in the same 4 spots, rush you loudly with their gun down and full sprinting.
no matter how good AI turns out to be, the fact enemies USE Kapkans and stuff is terrible. Old Thunt had C4 rooms so you dodged this places to reroute you to a different way of clearing the map. Bomb whitemasks, altho annoying for console players, were a good pratice for Headshots, as they were VERY tanky. We could've gotten more stuff, like a Oryx-based Terrorist, that can ram you if you just get closer enough to a wood wall he is behind, or Frost-like traps so you heat flicking from trap to head. Kapkan is annyoing because his traps take your crosshair completely from the door. C4's were better to deal with. Also the AI bots suck at the fact that you have preparation phase. This is literally counter intuitive. How am i gonna heat up with a preparation phase. I want to go in and instantly be prepared to play.
I'm going to have to disagree with some of those points, but I appreciate you giving your reasoning instead of just X bad. The C4 rooms and bombers were unfortunately before my time aside from in the situations, so I can't really speak on them aside from my experience in situations where I found them to be just as easy to deal with as the regular white masks. If T hunt ever gets brought back, or we get a spin off centered around the white masks, an Oryx like white mask would be absolutely sick. The Frost mat idea is also nice, but now I'm confused as Frost and kapkan are so similar, but you're against the AI using kapkan traps. If we had more options, like taking away prep phase or choosing the site we wanna practice against that would be great. For a warmup, it's essentially a trial by fire as they're essentially just throwing you against bronze players who watched extensive tutorials on site setup and were given an aimbot
@@Minotaur4005 About the frost is because kapkan is frustrating to play. It takes your crosshair away and puts it into the door, which is not always doable, while the frost is more manageable because it's usually visible. Also, i like that we can have a good conversation here. About the C4, yeah, it wasn't really great because of the bugged rooms that aways existed (White masks in Bathroom - Coastline would never pathfind you, even if they're last) But it is more because the old code was buggy, not because the mode was bad.
@@Malam_NightYoru If played right, the frost mat shouldn't be visible. Frost also takes your crosshair away from where it's supposed to be, because if you vault through a trapped window your choices are either win the gunfight but get stuck or go after the trap and just outright die. You're forced to make a choice and commit, whereas with kapkan traps an animation is almost never involved and therefore you have more freedom with how you approach it. I'm curious as to whether the defender AI will be just as buggy as t hunt got, in like a year or two. I'm sure t hunt started out fight, and it'll be interesting to see how defender AI develops. I'm also glad we can have a conversation, it's rather refreshing. In terms of my channel, I'm still trying to find out what sticks and go with it, but for the most part it seems like my niche is discussing game features. I should have a video similar to this one once the shield rework arrives.
Though t hunt will always be better Ubisoft has been consistently updating the Ai to the point I would say they are better than most players you’ll run against
I dont understand why ubisoft has the need to remove old school r6 stuff to add their new trash, instead of keeping both in the game. Reminds me of Gamefreak removing set mode from pokemon for no reason
defender ai really sucks. you can only play like 5 different operators and the ai has a timer where if they see you for over X amount of time, they instantly headshot you.
While I did not play back then, I am sure when THunt was new it was limited like AI is now. Over time AI will improve since they have to code ops individually. THunt also sucked because you either had to go solo. If you went co-op, you got stuck with people who just rushed all the time with no teamwork and little gadget use.
T hunt actually launched with more content, but got dumbed down over the years. They used to have suicide bombers, and rooms full of proximity based nitro cells. I can't speak on whether the AI was any good or not. I do hope that we get like 4 new AI and playable ops a season or something, but we'll probably have to wait until next year's reveal in February to actually know
@@JustinLessig sounds like a genre defining thing. Shooters come in different types, going against 25+ is like those horde / zombie shooters but others work different and not everyone likes fighting hordes.
@@GeardoGaming Have you ever even played thunt? Have you ever played an aim trainer/warmup game? You aren't "fighting hordes", you are clearing the entire map with enemies in almost every room. This allows you to, at your own pace and difficulty, warm your aim, crosshair placement, movement, map knowledge all in 1-2 thunts. They removed thunt and added a literal practice mode where you run around the whole map and shoot mannequins that are extremely predictable. By all metrics thunt was just better, even for a brand new player.
@@JustinLessig Yes I did THunt, the whole warmup / aim trainer was a player fantasy. THunt was supposed to be for learning teamwork, not aim training, just another example of a company putting out something with one intention and players turning it into something else. Not the first time that has happened. Players ruined THunt by treating it as aim training and mindless grinding. I even read some who did not use it for aim training, they played THunt as a group while drunk finding it better than PvP modes. Yes there were THunt mains who played no PvP at all, just went in and shot THunt bots nothing else thus quite a number were not using it for aim training. Do not give lectures on a subject when you do not understand what you are discussing and assuming you know better including about the person you are speaking to.

I think that's a very good way of looking at it, but in it's current state it is worse than T hunt. That being said, I enjoy playing this defender AI more than T hunt and I do hope that one day it will actually just be objectively better than T hunt
Great video, what are your thoughts about the arcade playlist effecting t hunt?
I don't know why but when he's describing the AI operators it sounds like he's describing the FNAF animatronics.
bro 💀
So glad I grew up with T hunt but damn defender ai is so much better
How do you do this?
Why can't ubisoft just leave old cool stuff in the game tho, I understand maybe wanting to remove T hunt for cutting down on game file size but I feel like they could've just left it on for nostalgias sake.
Adding onto this, one of the reasons T hunt was cool was because it actually made some sense in terms of game story, this defender AI is just tutorial but nothing else.
This defender AI is not a tutorial, these AI will smite you
@@Minotaur4005 nope, they are trash if you losing to this AI that's on you
@@Ghost-jq4eyyou're not playing on the advanced then. I've had bandit pixel peak me a dozen times lmao
@RapTapTap69 exactly
T-hunt was so much better, ai training is useless since you can't even pick defender or most of the attackers
well, no shit, its not a finished product, this isnt all its supposed to be they even said its gonna receive several improvements over time
@@Will-gd6df ''not a finished'' yeah the game is only 8 years old how dare i expect a finished product
@@Will-gd6df so why replace a "finished product" with a shittier "not finished product" instead of letting players choose which mode to play while updating the "not finished product"?
@@Will-gd6df Get Ubisoft's meat out your mouth lil bro
T hunt was fun when u could stack hridlocks shoot at ai and hide in a place where they have to game end themselves
i realize on the dollar bills at 7:02 mute's mask is on them
the edit: grammar fixing, thats it
Wow I didn't even realize that, it's almost like it was meant to be
Both are great but T-hunt doesn't take 1min to Play after dying and target Drill is a good alternative
Versus AI is MUCH better than t-hunt, you get the full experience and simulation of 1v5ing a team while also warming up, it's perfect.
I miss situations.
I just can not wrap my head around why Ubisoft doesn't just implement AI mode without removing T Hunt. Or at least remove it for a while for people to try out AI and then let everyone decide what suits them better. But it's Ubisoft so I'm not gonna spend any more time wondering.
They could’ve just replaced the white masks with Keres instead of getting rid of the mode.
T hunt. No one asked for it to be removed, almost everyone used it for aim training, not to learn the game
#BringThuntBack
It's been like 5 days and I already miss T hunt a little
Defender ai might not suck a year from now, but as it stands the ai are just dumb, sit in the same 4 spots, rush you loudly with their gun down and full sprinting.
no matter how good AI turns out to be, the fact enemies USE Kapkans and stuff is terrible.
About the C4, yeah, it wasn't really great because of the bugged rooms that aways existed
(White masks in Bathroom - Coastline would never pathfind you, even if they're last)
But it is more because the old code was buggy, not because the mode was bad.
@@Minotaur4005 i know it. I'm talking more about the IA itself
I feel both should’ve stayed, but ai is better for noobs to learn maps and to make strategy
Remember Bomber?
Yeah, neither do i.
Thunt all the way... I used it to train my aim, now i can't. They are different in purpose so why not keep thunt?
Why not keep both?
Though t hunt will always be better Ubisoft has been consistently updating the Ai to the point I would say they are better than most players you’ll run against
I dont understand why ubisoft has the need to remove old school r6 stuff to add their new trash, instead of keeping both in the game. Reminds me of Gamefreak removing set mode from pokemon for no reason
defender ai really sucks. you can only play like 5 different operators and the ai has a timer where if they see you for over X amount of time, they instantly headshot you.
T hunt way better but why can't we have both?
New mode could be better just needs all maps and ops and be able to be on defence
Completely agreed
Who in their right mind would play „vs AI“ for the gameplay besides aimtraining?
If you're tired of team mates complaining or the servers are down
T Hunt elimination should only be it
While I did not play back then, I am sure when THunt was new it was limited like AI is now.
I do hope that we get like 4 new AI and playable ops a season or something, but we'll probably have to wait until next year's reveal in February to actually know
Going solo against 30 ai was kind of the appeal of thunt as a warm up mode.
I just hope it improves over time
Same
how do you get an defender
Rather have t.hunt r.i.p
T-hunt is far superior
thunt
they could have just kept both
Are you on social media?
No, I'm not
did they delete T hunt?
yeah, they did
How about I do something better. ready or not > six
That's like comparing Call of Duty to Titanfall 2. They're both shooters, but are completely different in terms of both gameplay and world building. Apples to oranges my guy
@@Minotaur4005 no, ready or not and R6 are pretty similar, but even if they weren't I think he is just saying it's a better game bro.
Always wanted to play against real ops and not Ts but the ai is ass
imo dummies is better than training AI allows me to train movement, map knowledge and aim at the same time. this can essentially be a faster version of THunt if you make it that way
