    As a 600 hour gyrocopter pilot and working for a well known gyro manufacture I am very impressed with the way your model handles and your expertise at the way gyro's are typically flown !! Watch those zero or negatives G's !! Well done !!

    👍👍WOW that looks so real! It even has a rotor blades pre-rotator, which is a must-have for short takeoffs... and to save the right shoulder and arm muscles from having to manually spin up the rotor blades enough so they don't flap when accelerating into the wind! I used to fly a Bensen B-8M and this one is spot on for flight characteristics, and even the sound. Just WOW that's awesome!

    One thing about RC flying is something is always off, whether it's the scale speed of the aircraft, the sound of the aircraft, or the flight characteristics of the aircraft. Well, in this video, everything is spot on.

    I fly a full-sized gyro and this is impressive. Better still is that it appears to be flown by someone who knows how to fly it instead of the usual muppet who rolls it on takeoff and thinks that there is something wrong with the design.

    Did I get the impression the lift rotor was spun up with an electric motor..?
    (Hmm.. idea?)

    • @freya1501
      @freya1501 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The e-motor brings the rotor up to speed before take-off on the ground, for a short take-off distance.
      in the air the electric motor is off.

    • @halfrhovsquared
      @halfrhovsquared ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's called a pre-rotator and is fairly standard on modern gyrocopters.

    • @effyleven
      @effyleven ปีที่แล้ว

      @@halfrhovsquared I am impressed that a model should have this feature. Excellent!

    • @jordannewsom4578
      @jordannewsom4578 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like someone else said it’s called a pre-rotator and is only used to spin the rotor up to speed for takeoff and just about all modern full size auto gyros have them. Back in the day you had to fast taxi down the runway with the stick all the way back to get the rotor spun up. When these things where first invented they even had the ability to takeoff vertically by spinning the blades up a good bit with a clutch/pulley system attached to the engine, I forget what they called this, I think might have been something like a grasshopper takeoff or something. They’ve been around since the early 30s I think, the first designs where very cool. It was definitely an aviation innovation that’s for sure!

    However, having a child sized, lifelike dummy onboard is maybe not such a good idea. If that aircraft is ever involved in an accident, witnesses will surely call emergency services. Those emergency workers will rush to the scene, putting themselves and the public at risk to rescue your dummy.
