Flew my gyroplane up to Barry's home airport in May 2022 for a seasonal fly-in. While there I broke my fancy nose wheel, across from his hanger, while turning around. My wheel dropped into a hole that had opened up against a drainage grate, hidden by the grass. When he found out he said, "We're going to get you back in the air, today, I don't care what it takes. No way are you not flying tomorrow!" Barry was such a great help, gave me a new wheel so I could enjoy the rest of the weekend. That's the kind of guy he is, one of the good ones for sure, and one of my favorite people in the whole universe. I'd go to the ends of the Earth for him. It is always fun to watch him fly that Dominator with the amped-up Rotax 617(?) putting out over 100 HP and weighing like nothing.
Absolutely incredible airmanship by this pilot! Thanks for sharing the video. Hard to imagine the training and preparation the pilot and gyro had to undergo!!
@@kikas990 Realmente é muito louco, eu não tenho aeronave, mas exatamente como as pás rotativas geram sustentação, quando essa a máquina voadora fica de cabeça para baixo, o efeito coandas das pás deveria ficar invertido, logo, perderia sustentação e cairia, é um pouco parecido com o ângulo de inclinação do avião, se o avião levantar demais o bico, a quantidade de ar que passa pelas asas não é o suficiente para gerar sustentação ai o avião entra em stou. Talvez essa máquina voadora tenha algum dispositivo amais.
Frankly amazing, the 3 loops then sequence in auto rotation, and the passage low speed at the level of the runway ! Your machine is incredible, be careful anyway, I fly a paraglider and I have known people who have hit the planet. Your videos are magic, I share with my friends from France !
Thank you for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!! The funny thing is I am very apprehensive about paraglides or powered parachutes. It really comes down to what the pilot is comfortable with flying etc. 👍

É como dizemos em Aviação: há Pilotos e pilotos. De Girocópteros entendo um pouquinho, pois projetei e construí um, em parceria com um amigo. Mesmo que no nosso caso, se trata de um em escala reduzida (Aeromodelo) Rádio Controlado, os princípios de funcionamento e voo são muito semelhantes aos de um em escala completa, ou seja, para o voo tripulado. E afirmo que, pela observação deste vídeo, o tipo utilizado não possui rotor com comando Coletivo da pás, que quando há, melhora muito a performance do voo, tornando este tipo de aeronave, mais proxima dos recursos de um Helicóptero. Mas este, é um Girocóptero de rotor simples, sem a possibilidade de variação do ângulo das pás. Então, o que este Piloto fez com a Aeronave, pode ser comparado, analogamente, ao que o Pelé fazia com a Bola, Isto é: Impossibilidades Possíveis! I noticed that he is a real bug about keeping positive Gee on the main rotor but jeez... Do you wonder what it felt like the first time he looped his gyro?
isn't this aircraft's rotor system subject to mast bumping? That is an underslung rotor system, is it not? Rigid rotor? Special preparation, perhaps? Built up/beefed up? Someone explain this to me.
Tell him he should paint the tops of the blades in a high visibility pattern.... adding black stripes to the top of the white blades.... it would look far more dramatic!
He's flying a Dominator made from a kit that used to be manufactured by Rotor Flight Dynamics (no longer in business). His airframe is beefier than a standard single-seat Dominator because it is actually parts from a 2-seat dominator and with a more powerful engine that you'd normally have on a single-seater. His engine is a Rotax but not a standard A/C engine. He told me it started out as a snowmobile engine (not sure what model) but has been bored out larger and a blue head added from a standard Rotax 582 to give it dual ignition. I suspect it has a lot more HP than a standard 65HP 582.
As long as the wing stays loaded it doesn't care what orientation it's in. So the real trick (and massive amount of skill) is maintaining that loading without unloading or overloading it.
So here's the thing Ralfie... if stunts were flown by the rules, there wouldn't be any stunts, would there? Then again, thanks for telling us what we already knew.

what happened to the danger of "unloading the rotor"? ... 'Cuz those maneuvers sure look like they could induce an unloading of the rotor (even if only via an engine stall) . ... Is there some new technology that has made the danger of unloading the rotor go away? Is it a demonstration of Arthur C Clarke's old saw about "any sufficiently advanced technology looks like magic"; and has gyrocopter technology advanced so far that (at least to my eye) that looks like a gyrocopter with a magic rotor?
