Hanoi takes place during the Son Tay Raid in November 1970, and it’s also where the military used the first red dot sight in history, although it didn’t appear in Black Ops.
Very interesting! Thank you for the fun fact about it
Cuz I think BO1 was set between 1962-1968..
@@xrecklessly The campaign did, but the multiplayer takes place between the years of 1961 and the 1970’s. Like Stadium, which takes place during the Election Day in 1972, if you look at the posters.
@@eliasazevedo777I think Berlin wall also took place in the 70’s
wasn’t the first red dot the nydar sight used during WW2 tho?
You know a COD game is really good when even the “most forgotten” map is a decent map
Well said!
Hanoi was so underrated. i would love to see it return
Couldn’t agree more!
One of my favorite details in Hanoï is the signs around the map written in French because the prison used to be controlled by the French when it was still a colony
I never even noticed that! But that is a great detail and makes me like map more
no shot he put Hanoi as the most forgotten BO1 map. Amazing SnD map,
I agree! I really enjoyed Hanoi. When I asked people about BO1 maps no one said Hanoi, which led me to picking it
Bo4 arsenal was widely used during the bo4 comp season , hell it’s still used to this day when playing throwback wagers
bo4 actually had some really great maps now looking back at it. kinda underrated
For MW19 the most forgotten map is Euphrates Bridge, it got removed from
The playlists early on i never saw it again
This map was so hated I’m pretty sure most people remember it lol
Arsenal was the best map in BO4, what?! If you played competitive cod back in the day, you knew just how perfect it was in all game modes
All of my friends had quit cod at that point so I didn’t play much competitive and stuck to pubs! Maybe that’s why I feel differently about Arsenal
@@AscendAR I can understand that. BO4 was a weird time. My old friends were in the midst of college life and I had new friends that I started to game with more who were into the competitive scene
Man it's crazy that Bo4 is "back in the day." I stopped buying the game annually after black ops 3, and Bo4 still feels like a pretty new cod game to me.
Same with crusher on iw. Few faded takes on this list
Can you do most forgotten DLC maps in each game?
Get mad at me, but aftermath is one of my favorite BO2 maps. I always do really good on it.
I’ll always remember it as the very first map I played when I got BO2 for Christmas 2012
No reason to get mad! I’m happy some people enjoyed it
Once you learnt the map it could be pretty fun, especially domination with the flag right in the middle outside
I have FINALLY found a fellow Siege hater! I've been saying that it's the worst map of all time for years, but Stonehaven is so memorable that people always say that it's the worst from Ghosts (even though Chasm is also worse than Stonehaven). You got my subscription from that one opinion alone!
Also, I personally wouldn't include any DLC in videos like this for exactly the reason you mentioned; the maps added later in the life cycle have an unfair advantage (disadvantage?) to be more forgotten. But it was a great video regardless and you should make videos however you want. Plus, I learned about a map that i didn't know existed! (That DRC Zone map from MWII.)
Now they are no longer forgotten
True
For someone who used to play a lot of Infected - I definitely remember Carbon
I will never forget Hanoi bc it was the map of my first ever game of any call of duty. I used the MP5K default class and was talking on the phone w my friend bc we were in 6th grade and our parents didn’t trust us to talk on the mics. I got literally 0 kills but fell in love w it, which is why I hate SBMM so much, they claim it gets new players hooked on it, but we all started without SBMM and fell in love w the games so clearly that’s not true
LOVE the content you stud. Do best infected maps next! Or most epic main menu music etc!
You should’ve included dlc maps since those are more forgotten than the launch maps. Carbon wasn’t nearly as forgotten as vortex in mw3 for example
I agree with you that Vortex is totally forgotten but what MW3 6v6 map do you think is the most forgotten including dlcs? I’d say probably Foundation, Decommission or Gulch
@@s650coupe7 Foundation.
I'll always remember Aachen and it was my favorite map in that game solely due to the fact that I grew up 30 minutes away and would visit every other weekend.
Honestly, Greece may be one of my favourites in mw3. It's a fair pick for forgotten compared to the rest of the maps in the game though. And I definitely loved Deprogram. Forgotten compared to the rest makes sense, but it was such a wild one to play on.
District was one of my favorite maps for S&D 😢
And although I like Crisis from Black Ops, I think it should’ve been on this list instead of Hanoi.
And saying only Aftermath was bad at BO2 launch is WILD. Drone and Turbine are both F tier trash maps compared to all other maps in BO2.
Great video overall! 😊
Suldul Harbor was never forgotten by me, it was finally a map that was quick action and legit fun
Upheaval is one of my top 10 maps.
I wouldn’t rank it that high but I do think it’s a good map!
I would agree, I was sure it was between this and castle as the community's favourite back in the day.
@@liamwilliams6651Castle, Courtyard, and Dome were the top 3 maps
@@bunkerjonesy5065 Disagree. Castle, Upheaval and Cliffside were the top 3 maps imo
@@liamwilliams6651 Cliffside was good too
I only really play Cold War as new COD's just havent been worth buying. However it seems i havent found Deprogram once this year, which is wierd because it wasnt that rare last year.
That is weird but makes my pick look good!
Stonehaven was honestly so much fun with snipers. I only played that map with snipers. A lot of long shots. Me and my friends would try to cross map quick shot each other
6:15 Its not the 1st game with water that you could swim in. In aw we had defender which also had water where you could swim
Fun fact. There’s a loose and edited Fallen layout as part of the warzone/zombies map for MW3
Not to be that guy, the first game which had swimming in MP was actually AW. And the first game you could go underwater in was MW3 on the map Getaway. You could go under the water but there was no swimming animation of anything. You just went into crouch or prone.
Weird to see district for cod4 since it was one of the most played competitive maps on pc. I guess console was just extremely different
Karachi was one of my favourite maps! I loved the way it played out. The Spawns on there just felt right.
Damn, I've really forgotten about those bo2 and mw3 maps, I played those games a bunch. Did NOT expect that after seeing what you picked for the previous games.
I used to 1v1 my dad, split screen on upheaval, that’s 1 map I won’t forget
Good content, new subscriber 🎉
These maps are truly forgettable because I can’t remember some of the ones you mention, not even an image comes to mind.
Does anyone remember the black hole map in IW? It would pull debris in but can’t remember if it could hurt you.
DRC Zone 1 is based on Building 21 from DMZ. It's an outdoors version of it, kinda. I would say this map isn't forgotten, but Koro Village is. Koro Village is a remake of Toujane from COD 2. That map was great but released in the final season of MWII. At that point, the player base shifted to WZ 2 and older CODs and prepping for MWIII
So picking any competitive map from a previous game kinda voids this list. Maps like Hanoi, Arsenal, Crusher aren't really forgotten and are quite honestly very well remembered. Better option from each title would've been
Bo1: Radiation or Cracked
IW: Grounded since it wasn't in competitive.
Bo4: Militia or Icebreaker
I would have said something about Karachi being picked as one of the forgotten maps, but I saw he picked it for MW2. Back then, it was a forgettable map to me as well tbh. I didn't really want to get it when voting for maps, but also didn't mind playing it. As for in MWIII, it's one of those maps that for some reason, I have a changed perspective on it. I love Karachi in MWIII & it became one of my favorite launch maps, especially when playing it in the 10v10 playlist. The pacing to the map just becomes so much better this way.
The one exception to the rule of factory maps being bad and or boring is SOVEREIGN from Ghosts that map is amazing
District was one of the few maps in the rotation of promod on PC, aka the only actually playable mod on cod4.
Oh…I remember Fallen from MW3. Simultaneously hated and loved that map. All these years later I still am undecided. Guess it depends on the game mode.
a lot of people really liked DRC Zone 1, it really didn't resemble any other MWII map and it also had plot significance due to it being part of DMZ's Building 21. there are a lot more forgettable MWII maps
Aachen is a very forgetful map, but Damm the snipping battles on it are very fun.
Also when playing hide and seek it seems to always come back to that map more so than the others in my experience.
Bo3 havoc was one of the most sweatiest maps i have ever played like i remember playing multiplayer and each time i was on havoc i would have like 20 deaths and 5 kills
I actually remembered Greece extremely😮 is one of the only bright maps I can actually see on without having to turn up my brightness or get closer to my screen
That’s a fair reason to remember it 😂
For MW2019 I would replace Suldal Harbor which got ported to CODM with Tank Factory a S6 map or Airbase which came out during BOCW
I really hope in gulf war we see a remake of cargo from BO2
Definitely should’ve picked Morocco over arsenal. Anyone who played Competitive COD during bo4 remembers arsenal as it was one of the best comp maps.
Dang, I didn't much competitive then! Must be why I didn't remember it as well
I play literally every black ops 1 map before bed (including dlc maps like hotel)
Stonehaven was my favorite map in ghosts bcs i used to 1v1 there all the time and blow up the castle gate bcs the castle was so cool to me, same for the map you showed on waw hahha what the hell
I’ll never forget Karachi because I’ve had the game end 1 off my nuke twice on that map.
I actually really liked DRC Zone 1. Weird name, but definitely in my top 5 favorite maps from that admittedly subpar game.
I still have dreams of carbon it ain’t forgettable in my eyes
8:55 Looks like the footage was chopped since for a split second was the home screen.
Edit: Honestly same I really couldn’t have fun with Mw2 2022 it just felt like an overdose of Mw2019, at least with Mw3 I actually remember all the little secrets each map had.
It was to Deprogram you 😂 Jk just an editing mistake!
I have never heard of carbon until this video
I dont know about yall, but i loved hanoi. I have fond memories of going crazy on that map.
bo1 might have to be havana for me
Havana is a good map! I’ll always remember it because it was the first map I played on BO1
Nah sniping was too fun on this map
Now that i think about it, after season 1 I never played another game on Greece it’s like expired
As a person who plays ranked regularly....Karachi is definitely not forgotten....
Upheaval from WaW is a top tier map.
Underrated Opinion: They Need To Bring Bloc Back
Honestly for Black ops 1 I at least have memories on Hanoi, but I cant for the life of me remember anything about Crisis
6:14 You can swim in WaW (at least in the campaign)
In horizon me and my brother used to 1v1 in the drone room
I miss upheaval every time a new COD comes out
I would love see Upheaval comeback
Horizon was my go to map for splitscreen games. I always play it
You know this dude hasnt played world at war. Aint no way more people remember Cliffside over Upheaval.
I loved Cliffside! And it was remade in BO1 as Hazard! No way people don't remember Cliffside
Bo1 highkey should of been Havana, only played on it a handful of times
Maybe it's cause i played Vanguard's seasons more than most, but the most forgotten for me would've been Fortress from season 5. Like cmon it launched mid season right before MWII. No one was getting hyped to go play Fortress in Vanguard lol
Nah, Upheaval is great and it's one of my favorite WaW maps. I still remember its entire layout and the fun times I had playing it. If you're looking for forgotten maps in WaW, try Hangar
Hangar was my 2nd choice for WAW! My decision was made based on which map I got to play first 😂 I do love Upheaval but I think people remember Courtyard, Castle, Cliffside, and Dome as the great maps from WAW (Upheaval should be included)
The first 4 or so cods you have incredibly wrong here
District was pretty popular in promod
Havana would probably have been my pick for BO1 but this is an extremely subjective topic. I absolutely loved that game, fav CoD by far. BO2 is the only one that competes imo
Carbon was actually pretty notable to me in MW3 because i hated it lol
The golf course DLC map is most forgotten for BO1
Upheaval got brought back in WW2
It hurt me when you put deprogram on the lost. Personally I would have put jungle.
Harbor is constantly in rotation idk what u talkin bout.
The answer is all raab airbase
I don’t understand why Stonehaven gets so much hate
I almost would've put bloc or ambush as the most forgettable for COD4 but idk. Also upheavel is sucha good map on WaW
Nah there are way more forgotten maps in Cold War than Deprogram
- Amerika was overshadowed by Deprogram when it launched and wasn't very popular due to its' small size, long sightlines and how air streaks were almost useless
- The original Miami was effectively replaced by Miami Strike, and the original map only remained playable in Combined Arms or Zombies Onslaught
- Same thing with Collateral, it was only playable in Combined Arms and Outbreak
- I completely forgot about some of the face-off maps they added in later seasons like Villa and Showcase, they hardly ever appeared in the rotation
- If we include remakes, hardly anyone even knew that remakes of WMD and Jungle are in this game since they were added *after* season 6, well into the first few seasons of MW2's post-launch
I played carbon ALL THE TIME with my siblings on og mw3
For MW2019 I would’ve picked Asshair Cave
Carbon was my favorite in mw3 if i’m being honest.
Factories and sewers are gaming's most overused and forgotten settings lol
No way you put karachi, what about rundown?
How could you forget aby this map MakeaWishfoundation
But, Stonehaven and Siege are the best maps in Ghosts
They really changed things up, and were actually interesting, instead of being tiny 3 lane maps
'it took me over 1 minute to run across the map'
You would never last in any Battlefield game lol
I loved battlefield 3 and battlefield 4 but COD and Battlefield are completely different games with different expectations. A map like Siege has no place in 6v6 call of duty
Was district in mw2 aswell ? Or am I thinking of something else
6:14 swimming has possible in world at war
Nah, district is forever immortalised because of “Mom, make me a sandwich.”
Imo departure is way more forgettable It’s basically terminal 2 but a bit more like express from bo2
Black Ops 3 was not the first game to make it where you can swim at multiplayer it was Call of Duty advanced warfare was the first game you can swim in multiplayer they only had one map when launched ready to consume in advance warfare
Deprogram is the most weird and unique map in coldwar
I agree! Which should make people remember it but I’ve never heard anyone talk about it
When I think of MW3 I think of Carbon
After bo2 who remembers any map names
this might be a hot take, but vanguard had some of the best maps in recent years. most of them paired well with the movement but all the launch maps were bland and boring to look at with no main important locations
I remember getting hanoi once and instantly backing out😭idk why but I just never liked that map
Am I the only 1 who realized he forgot MW19? Like he didn't say a map from it
Yes because I didn’t forget MW2019 😂 Suldal Harbor
110910. Greatest day in history
bo4 should’ve been militia
Militia was in my final 3 I was choosing between
Arsenal was memorable because of the stupid vent
I LIKED STONE HAVEN!
is’nt slums a bo2 launch map?
It is!
