If it's one of the best shows of the decade, Ben Bocquelet and the rest of the Gumball crew have to be excellent writers. They wouldn't end this show on a cliffhanger if a movie wasn't going to happen. At the end of the day, we will most likely get a movie that will serve as the true finale.

Steven was the example doesn’t go to school. Yet he was yelling at Jasper for the same reason in that moment of the show, for Little Homeschool. So basically “some people don’t go to school at all” refers to Steven, yet at that time he’s getting into Jasper for not going to Little Homeschool which kiiinda defeats the purpose a bit,
I’m so glad Over the Garden Wall is getting the praise it deserves it’s truly a masterpiece and deserves a bigger audience than it already has. It really showed how cartoons aren’t afraid to be silly and dark, and try new things. Most people think of bright colors and wacky noodle arms when they think cartoons, an this show took a different route, used different kids of design and styles that haven’t really been used too much before, and I think that’s beautiful. It really is an amazing example of showing cartoons are more than just something seven years olds watch after school.

I'm 48. The cartoons I grew up with in the 70's sucked. I've watched cartoons all my life and I gotta say that the 2010's was the best decade in TV animation for both adult and all ages. I'm pretty jealous of the kids growing up with these shows.
I'm 41. Some of the cartions from the 70s were still running when I came along. I love Space Ghost and most Hannah Barbara cartoons. Lately the animation styles are crap. ...Like the way the new Duck Tales look, or the new Ninja Turtles.

I watched the show because my friend describes it to me as a mix of Steven universe, avengers, Harry Potter, star vs the forces of evil, and sailor moon- all shows I love so I did AND I LIKE IT MORE THAN ALL OF THESE (Steven universe is REALLY close tho I just didn’t like the movie as much so she-ra tops for me)

You might be right that your picks are more mature, but only because the tone and lore of each demands it; Caped crusaders beating the snot out of villains and a series about century long wars between elemental dynasties are obviously gonna be heavier then a show about a human gem hybrid learning his place in a colourful world alongside crystal Gems or an orphan girl defining her destiny as the saviour of Etheria. It's how those shows handle their emotional nuances and draw elegant, simple lines through tough lessons that made this decade the way it was for children's cartoons having multi faceted, mature identities. I absolutely loved Adventure Time, Amazing World of Gumball and Steven Universe, they were some of the best shows on Cartoon Network! Gravity Falls was one of my favourite cartoons ever! And I still love Young Justice as well to this day, it’s also one of my favourites! But some of the shows I’ve watched over the last few years are probably my most favourite at the moment, like She-Ra, Legends of Korra and Avatar The Last Airbender! But I got to say my all time favourite, even after the toxic fan base tried to drag it down, has got to be Voltron Legendary Defender! It will always be a good show to me, one of the best storylines I’ve come across, kept me interested, great fight scenes and characters, and I was in love with the art style! The fans might hate it because they didn’t get what they wanted, but I’m completely fine with the outcome and how it ended!
marvel.bts.02 it was like adventure time for me. It’s was sometimes amazing and sometimes dull. And sometimes it was just lame. But it was overall great. I’ll always remember that fight between Keith and shiro (Clone shiro?) on that space station. It was awesome

I agree with most of the stuff on your list except SVTFOE because the ending was so shit the real only good parts were season 1 and season 2, the other 2 are just complete terrible and done terribly in terms of plot.

@@wiibrockster that's the gist of it. they had like 90% of season 2 completed when the writers were told to change everything because the Big Wigs wanted to keep Shiro around as one of the main characters and thus wrecked a lot of the story arcs they had planned. 2/3rds of the show they had to re-write. VLD is a lesson in Executive Meddling at it's worst.

Rat Jesus when he said that every episode was an event, I couldn’t have agreed more. It was a “count the seconds til the episode aired” and a “prepare your popcorn in advance and gather all you friends and family to watch” kind of event. The excitement from that show and the grief after it ended was amazing. Now I’m sad again thinking about it :((

we all know that "Star vs the forces of evil" didn't have a great ending *BUT it had the best love story in the history of cartoons* I still hope that theres more seasons because the ending of season 4 is like it's not the ending yet... Because mewni combined to earth is a chaos... Earth and mewni could go to war maybe... Because idunno. THERES still alot of questions and i hope theres a season 5 or more
It seemed like the finale was trying to be a launch point for a continuation of some sort. Likely why some of the problems with the plot seemed not to line up, creating the illusion that it was a bad finale, when in reality it’s meant to be the beginning of something else.

I know there are a lot of folks who raged about Star & Marco getting together at the end. I never had an issue with them becoming a couple as they were devoted to each other. The rush job they did on it was the problem....too often writers are trying to avoid the “Moonlighting “ phenomenon to a show’s detriment. For those that don’t know Moonlighting was a 1980’s show starring Cybil Shepard and Bruce Willis when he had hair. The show was noted for the will they or won’t they chemistry between the leads. When they did get them together in season 3 (I think) interest in the show started waning quickly. Ever since then many writers hold off on getting couples together even when the progression of the show says they should. Personally when Marco put his fist through Toffee I said put them together.

wiktoria soczewka Wouldn't say perfect but it was far more consistent in it's plot than others like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Stephen Universe. It definitely lagged behind towards the end but the actual ending wasn't so bad at all.
SVTFOE is my all time favorite cartoon. I agree that the ending wasn’t the best, but that doesn’t knock down how amazing this show is. I don’t expect everyone to like it, but what I do expect is for people not to criticize others for liking something that they don’t. I just loathe when people criticize others for liking things that they don’t.
I love it too!! It’s absolutely amazing! I don’t care what anyone else says, it’s one of my all time favorites, it’s up there with gravity falls for me! The story is just so interesting, with all the queens and the cheek marks and the magic and the villains! It just had so many great things to offer I don’t let the ending of the show ruin it, it’s still amazing and I feel like it needs more attention, or maybe just less hate you know

I’m so glad Over the Garden Wall is getting the praise it deserves it’s truly a masterpiece and deserves a bigger audience than it already has. It really showed how cartoons aren’t afraid to be silly and dark, and try new things. Most people think of bright colors and wacky noodle arms when they think cartoons, an this show took a different route, used different kids of design and styles that haven’t really been used too much before, and I think that’s beautiful. It really is an amazing example of showing cartoons are more than just something seven years olds watch after school.

It's how those shows handle their emotional nuances and draw elegant, simple lines through tough lessons that made this decade the way it was for children's cartoons having multi faceted, mature identities. I absolutely loved Adventure Time, Amazing World of Gumball and Steven Universe, they were some of the best shows on Cartoon Network! Gravity Falls was one of my favourite cartoons ever! And I still love Young Justice as well to this day, it’s also one of my favourites! But some of the shows I’ve watched over the last few years are probably my most favourite at the moment, like She-Ra, Legends of Korra and Avatar The Last Airbender! But I got to say my all time favourite, even after the toxic fan base tried to drag it down, has got to be Voltron Legendary Defender! It will always be a good show to me, one of the best storylines I’ve come across, kept me interested, great fight scenes and characters, and I was in love with the art style! The fans might hate it because they didn’t get what they wanted, but I’m completely fine with the outcome and how it ended!

Rat Jesus when he said that every episode was an event, I couldn’t have agreed more. It was a “count the seconds til the episode aired” and a “prepare your popcorn in advance and gather all you friends and family to watch” kind of event. The excitement from that show and the grief after it ended was amazing.

Regular Show was the best in CN. Adventure Time was cool, SU is too emotional (not that I cry easily), OK KO was okay, but Regular Show ALWAYS made me laugh.
Regular show was always a no thanks for me it's just not my type of humor but it's still groundbreaking just not for me
I always liked adventure time more in the end. I loved both but adventure time is a show that i always was fascinated with.

There’s this new mini series airing on Cartoon Network, you play it from the beginning and are met with the beautiful piano solo into the lyrical masterpiece being sung by Jack Jones as you get a glimpse at the stories to come. *chills*

I almost cried at just the MENTION of voltron, holy shit the nostalgia and live for what voltron could have been leaves a small, hollow place in my heart. Someday, i wish to write a reboot of voltron. We all need it.

I'm very surprised Twelve forever, Hilda, Kipo and the age of the Wonderbeasts, The Dragon Prince, ShortCircuit, and Bee and Puppycat were not on this list. They were definitely way better than others on this list. If you haven't seen them, WATCH THEM!

It seemed like the finale was trying to be a launch point for a continuation of some sort. Likely why some of the problems with the plot seemed not to line up, creating the illusion that it was a bad finale, when in reality it’s meant to be the beginning of something else.

I know there are a lot of folks who raged about Star & Marco getting together at the end. I never had an issue with them becoming a couple as they were devoted to each other. The rush job they did on it was the problem....too often writers are trying to avoid the “Moonlighting “ phenomenon to a show’s detriment.
For those that don’t know Moonlighting was a 1980’s show starring Cybil Shepard and Bruce Willis when he had hair. The show was noted for the will they or won’t they chemistry between the leads. When they did get them together in season 3 (I think) interest in the show started waning quickly. Ever since then many writers hold off on getting couples together even when the progression of the show says they should. Personally when Marco put his fist through Toffee I said put them together.
It did a terrible job at shipping and threw away plot and logic just for that one kiss in the barn...greatest love story my ass

I thought The Owl House would have made it on this list since Amphibia was on here but I guess not which is weird because they both came out around the same time

Wouldn't say perfect but it was far more consistent in it's plot than others like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Stephen Universe. It definitely lagged behind towards the end but the actual ending wasn't so bad at all.

SVTFOE is my all time favorite cartoon. I agree that the ending wasn’t the best, but that doesn’t knock down how amazing this show is. I don’t expect everyone to like it, but what I do expect is for people not to criticize others for liking something that they don’t. I just loathe when people criticize others for liking things that they don’t.
I love it too!! It’s absolutely amazing! I don’t care what anyone else says, it’s one of my all time favorites, it’s up there with gravity falls for me! The story is just so interesting, with all the queens and the cheek marks and the magic and the villains! It just had so many great things to offer I don’t let the ending of the show ruin it, it’s still amazing and I feel like it needs more attention, or maybe just less hate you know
