I agree it's insane, but my mind still goes to the fact that these stories are always told by the person trying to make themselves sound reasonable and the other person unreasonable. The fact that she even included his response of "why are you getting me this gift that is obviously for you" makes me think "he likes sushi" doesn't mean he actually thinks sushi is great, he just gets it when she begrudgingly goes along with her plans or says "yeah it's pretty good" when she orders it and makes him try it and asks for his opinion.
Better yet, maybe he's just on the spectrum and she purposely left that out to make him sound less sympathetic.

Like yeah it's hard for me to imagine thinking it sucks that bad, but to parallel, I'd be pretty annoyed if my wife spent $400 on an amazing meal and called it a birthday gift. Omakase is not a type of sushi at all, but a way of ordering it. And it’s not served “in a specific way,” it’s just whatever the chef thinks is good and seasonal at the moment.

Heinz Museum (which I’ve never heard of) is not in Allentown PA, but IS in Pittsburgh, PA. NL’s ability to not only name drop a somewhat small town in the US but also accurately place the state of the “Heinz Ketchup Museum” either based on his insane memory recall from his monstrous memory base OR incredible intuition about where that might be… just blows me away. Idk how he does it.
Edit: Heinz History Museum, not the “Heinz Ketchup Museum” - I got baited by a Google result from someone’s Tripadvisor post title, but to be fair they have an entire exhibit about the Ketchup company in there, so there’s that 😆

I'm honestly on the side of the OP for the laptop story. And I think the best way to look at it is, imagine if they were out, and it was someone else's laptop. Who would be liable then, the OP or the baby sitter?
It would obviously be the sitter since it's her job to make sure the kids aren't getting into trouble. I don't think that changes when the laptop changes hands.

It's a static image 99% of the time so it'd even be trivial to auto-detect changes and aggregate the data or set up alerts. The person in the post? Dog-walking story, the *instant* I read the bit about Dylan "being different," not liking sports and OP "having a hard time connecting with him," I knew the "problem" was that Dylan is neurodivergent and OP is either unable or unwilling to accept his kid for who he is.

eh, tbf replacing a laptop screen if it's a budget laptop, at that point just buy a new one. When I went to get mine repaired there was also no parts for it and could have taken months before they could get any could have had to do with it. couldn't find the parts online either. As someone who had a babysitter and babysat, if my laptop got broken on my watch the parents shouldn't have to pay for it. It is my responsibility to make sure that 1) the kids are behaving and 2) I don't put expensive personal items in a place where the kids can get their hands on it and break it, especially if I'm being paid to do this. Seems to me like this babysitter wasn't ready for the responsibility and is now trying to blame the parents for her mess up.

I'm with NL on the sushi one, this guy's aggressive hatred and contempt for "fine dining" is not only petty and childish, its just a bit unhinged. The way I see it she was just offering a nice dining experience, based on the kind of food she knows he likes (seriously, what part of "he likes sushi" do you people not understand?) it'd be her treat, she gets to share a piece of her interests with him while they enjoy the food that (let me remind you) he said he liked.
If he doesn't want that or sees a problem with that, the reasonable thing for him to do would be to say he doesn't want it, maybe show that he appreciates the thought she put in, trying to find something he would like and just respectfully decline and, oh I don't know, maybe tell her what he wants? Instead he just throws it back in her face with the threat of pulling childish antics in a petty display of contempt for her gesture. This guy needs to grow up and either learn to communicate properly or sort out whatever issues are making him so hostile to his girlfriend's interests.

People complaining about the ring doorbell, the door does not have a peephole or a way to see who is on the other side before opening it. Especially for a woman living alone that can be *incredibly dangerous*. She's absolutely allowed to install it if the property management approves of it which they clearly did since they talked to the dude complaining to leave her and it alone. I understand the point some people make about how Ring doorbells can be a privacy risk and the fact that Ring doorbells contribute to unsolicited neighbourhood surveilance, but on the otherhand I think that person is really overestimating just how interesting they truly are. My guess is they'll probably be okay.
