@UC5fgXQc9noGQNqt3cTnXUlw I agree, at least Giyuu-san is stronger than Rengoku-san, even in the base form.. (SPOILER) If you read the manga, Akaza vs Rengoku-san only consists of one chapter. REALLY, ONE CHAPTER. And Akaza vs Giyuu-san (without Tanjiro's assist because he was momentary blacken out remembering about transparent world and when Tanjiro passed out too, without counting Akaza's backstrory too of course) consists SIX CHAPTERS. Before that, Giyuu-san already a Hashira on around 16 years old, only the 3rd to joined the rank after Himejima-san and Tengen-sama (and Kanae, the late sister of Shinobu). If you read the Demon Slayer's spin-off manga called 'The Tales of Water and Flame', Rengoku-san became a Hashira at 18-19 years old, just 1-1,5 years before the Mugen Train Arc, and after Shinobu joined. Shinobu became a Hashira after Giyuu-san met and saved Kamado siblings around 2 years ago, and by the time of Hashira meeting (every 6 months) after Shinobu joined the rank, Rengoku-san attended the meeting as his father proxy and not long after that joined the rank too. So you could said that around 6 months after Shinobu joined the rank 2 years ago, Rengoku-san joined the rank. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect Giyuu-san and Rengoku-san, they had their own merits. So please don't belittle one of them just because you prefer the other one..
You saw the master in a scene where he said that more of "his children" had been born. That's when everyone finished the selection and picked their stones for their blade.
Honestly, I don't like ranking the hashira's. Strongest or weakest, for me they're all amazing in their own ways. I just know that Gyomei, the stone hashira is the strongest. I agree to that since I'm already done reading the manga. They're all amazing, they're all strong in their own ways and I wish the author give other hashira's an arc just like rengoku and uzui together with the trio and nezuko.
Agree! Not long ago I found a lot of comments trolling Giyuu-san, said he was so weak compared to Rengoku-san, (SPOILER) just based on their fights with Akaza... When the REAL FACT in manga, Akaza vs Rengoku-san was unfortunately consist only ONE CHAPTER, where Giyuu-san alone vs Akaza (because Tanjiro was blacken out because remembered his father's words at that time) consists on around FIVE to SIX CHAPTERS. Really, I love both of them, they both so strong and had their own merits..
@@yellowboat825 I think the hashira's themselves think that Gyomei is the strongest out of all of them. They all have huge respect on gyomei. Most of them say he's so strong. Iguro himself said that gyomei is very strong. this is what I dislike about ranking since they don't have official one. Fans are the one who's ranking them based on their own views and perspectives. We have different opinions in this one, like me, I said gyomei is the strongest. You said, it's either gyomei or iguro. But most fans said Gyomei is first, second is sanemi (Which I'm one of them). I just don't like saying my opinion anymore since we're all different 😭
@@yellowboat825 igual si one of the weakest hashiras, so overrated by the fandom. You hace to understand that Muzan was to slow to kilo the hashiras and Iguro didn’t fight to any upper moon, he did What he did just because he didn’t do any think un the story. Hala of hashiras are stronger than Iguro
Stone hashira's "Namu Amida Butsu" is a kind of praying in Buddhism. It means ‘Hail to Amitābha Buddha’ to gain rebirth into the Pure Land after death.
The Hashira rankings vary based on what you’re judging on, but the Stone Hashira is the definitive strongest and has been a Hashira the longest. Giyu and the Wind are my favorites though.
@@jawadm9863 They’d ask about the strongest so I doubt they cared about that one, but when it comes to who was a Hashira before who, it’s never stated, you just infer on your own by looking at how sick the master is in the background, but I don’t know anyone (or very many) who ever picked that up while watching for the first time.
It’s actually literally amazing how Nezuko refused Sanemi’s blood because he’s a *merechi* which is like, *the most* irresistible blood to a demon I’m serious. It just shows how much stronger her will is
I love the dynamic between the master and the hashira because unlike most shows and stories, instead of the master being this intimidating in humane level power monster of a person who intimidates their minions, Demon Slayer makes the master a kind soft hearted person, that despite his illness tries his best to give his ‘children’ a path to follow. Being a leader isn’t about intimidation, it’s about building mutual respect between you and your people.
Personally I think that If Nezuko had taken a single step towards Sanemi during the test that would have been enough for her to fail especially since she was clearly drooling. So even if she were to move forward to hug him that would have been seen as an act of aggression because she's a demon so it's a very good thing she just turned her head in disgust.
yep. this is pretty much what I've seen ppl rank Hashira's except for 3 and 4. I think Muichiro is the third one and serpent below 3 *s2 anime spoiler* : Tengen also mentioned Muichiro picking up a sword and becoming a Hashira for 2 months which is ridiculously short for a guy who looks younger than the others. idk if you're a manga reader but if you are then *manga spoiler warning* : muichiro is also known to be a young genius, a descendant of the creator of sun and moon breathing, solo'd an upper moon and assisted in fighting the strongest upper moon meanwhile Obanai barely fought a demon kizuki. He barely did anything when fighting UM4 too and had to be helped by Mitsuri and Yushiro. He barely had any chance when fighting Muzan too until he sacrificed himself and focused on assisting Tanjiro on fighting Muzan.
In terms of where we've seen the master before, we see him after tanjiro and crew pass Final selection talking about getting more children (demon slayers), like episode 5 i think and when he sends Shinobu and Giyu to spider mountain, in episode 15. We don't actually see his face until ep 22 tho, but we've heard him speak before then. Just some other things, Tanjiro and Inosuke are 15 Nezuko is 14 Zenitsu is 16. The ranking of hashira is largely subjective and you can make an argument for various arrangements apart from number 1 and it would hold up in my opinion. Each one has different feats and excel at different things. For example, Shinobu can't decapitate demons, as stated by herself and that one demon she killed, and thus is considered the 'weakest,' but she is incredibly smart and agile, being able to make poisons and antidotes easily and being able to jump from tree to tree quickly while in the spider mountain.
YESS. Everyone always makes their own lists but tbh once you get past number 3 it can really go any direction. Once you get past Stone-Mist-Wind its a free for all on whos actually stronger.
@@prohfecy7754 See thats so debatable. Obanai is generally referenced as being one of the strongest so people put him 4th. Most people agree Regoku is probably bottom 4
they say at the end of this episode that he is the 97th master/leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, so there have been many masters/leaders before him and it is just passed down in the family to the male heir that is how they are chosen. Muzan is well over 1000 years old just so you two know for reference.
Most people are probably going to tell you to watch the movie instead of the episode version of the Mugen Train Season 2 arc, since that's how many of us experienced it the first time. But honestly now that I've watched both, I prefer the episodic format. It's got more content and some better animation. You can't really go wrong though.
Minor Spoiler ahead: Nezuko turning her head in disgust, is even more impressive because the wind Hashira has Marechi (special blood). His blood is especially intoxicating for demons. So the the fact the she resisted biting him is super impressive. Hence why the master is 100% sure Nezuko will never intentionally hurt a human being.
@@nevercedes2070 We don't find out about this till literally the second to last arc in the story. Anime only watchers literally won't find out in years.
Even though there isn't an absolute ranking of Hashira's/Pilar's power (not talking about arm strength), we can have one, based on a lot of opinions that I've seen, plus information that is in the manga. 1.- Gyomei Himejima (Stone Hashira) He is, in words of all the other hashiras, the most powerful, he's the number one without any doubt. 2.- Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Hashira) I've seen that most of the people gave him this second place, which I think it's pretty accurate based on his strength, battle IQ and skills. Now, from here, the ranking positions are difficult to set, and, a lot of times it depends on the person who made the ranking. So we'll make interchangeable positions. 3.- Obanai Iguro (Serpent Hashira) 4.- Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira) 5.- Giyu Tomioka (Water Hashira) These three are normally put in this 3-5 positions, but as I said, some people put Giyu 3rd, and Obanai 5th, so it's variable, personally I'm not sure how to place them lmao. 6.- Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira) 7.- Tengen Uzui (Sound Hashira) 8.- Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Hashira) Again, in these 3 positions we usually see these Hashira, personally, I think Mitsuri and Tengen are more powerful than some people think, but still it's variable and I can see why you would put Rengoku at 6th or even 5th position. 9.- Shinobu Kocho (Insect Hashira) She's the weakest since we saw in the beginning that she wasn't able to chop off a demon's head, but, still, she's really powerful, fast and probably one of the smartest Hashira. So, defined positions we only have 3, the 1st, 2nd, and 9th, but you can make a general idea of each one power. Hope this was helpful to you:)
@@hyperrexz629 Well Sanemi and Giyu are equal in fighting skill but Sanemi has better durability, whereas Giyu gets hit less due to his defenses. They are both around the same level of skill but Sanemi has the marechi bonus which is very useful
I agree with you, only thing I would switch would be giyu and muichiro. other than that i agree with this list. Many people seem to hate on this ranking though
I'm surprised people don't rank Mitsuri higher. Between her insane muscle density and her skill with that ribbon blade, the proof IS there. I admit that her personality and fighting style are off-putting, but still.
just to clear it up, the first time you guys saw the Master was in episode 4 or 5 (forgot exact ep) after Tanjiro and the others passed final selection.
Just some info The strongest hashira- gyomei ( stone hashira ) The weakest hashira- shinobu Youngest hashira- muichiro ( mist hashira ) Oldest hashira- gyomei Fastest hashira with agility- shinobu Fastest hashiro with running speed- tengen ( sound hashira ) Mitsuri the love hashira is the strongest female hashira. Giyu at the moment is 5th or 6th in ranking
@@neroblack9116 spoilers what do you mean in terms of what. At this moment in time, none of them have marks, so they are all base power level. Giyu outperformed Rengoku at base against Akaza. Rengoku handled one form against Akaza, which was air type, his weakest one. Rengoku then got destroyed by both Warstyle and Annihilation. Giyu blocked Warstyle easily (attack that shattered Rengoku’s eye) and blocked Flowing light slash, but it’s multi hit sent him back. However, he was still unscathed. And before you say Rengoku almost killed Akaza, he didn’t. In the manga, he doesn’t even cut off Akaza’s arms, not even once, except for ninth form, which killed him. Before you say Muichiro, this is base Muichiro, not marked. Base Muichiro got no diffed by Gyokko and got blasted out of a building by upper moon 4’s weakest clone. Before you say Obanai, this is again base Obanai, who is featless.
@@darry4109 I’m not denying Giyu is above Rengoku, I’m confused by you saying he was 5th or 6th. Among the lower ring of Hashira in terms of overall ability when I’d put him in at least 3rd or 4th.
@@neroblack9116 Oops. Misunderstanding. I was the one actually saying he was third and when you said "based on what?" I thought you were attacking my argument. We actually agree. He's around third with obanai
You’ve seen the master at the end of the final selection when the crow reported to him about how many passed, and also when he sent Giyu and Shinobu to Mount Natagumo to help the other demon slayers :)
The master has no hypnotic abilities, simply his voice is so warm, gentle, calm and reassuring that makes everyone feel in heaven, he also is extremely wise as you have seen, even if he's only 23. He knows what someone wants to hear, and does everything to make him feel good. The Master is my favorite character of the show, he has a troubled life, but he would never run away from his responsibilities, such a kind soul.
The leader of the hashiras and muzan are kinda related but I wont say more 🤫 also the master has a illness so the stuff you see on his face with grow more over his body so he'll become more sick
16:06 actually, zenitsu does remeber when he beheaded the spider demon, but he thought that was just a dream, he said it right after beheading the demon, but it's completely fine if you missed it! This is your first anime.. and we can help you with the information you missed! I love you're videos, thank you for making me happy every day
I think it's like small flashback or memory fragments since spoiler after the Infinity Castle arc, after Nezuko became 100% human, that's when she finally remembered her name, who she is, etc.
oh yeah... but considering that most of the demons we've met have lived for quite a time they already forgot. Meanwhile Nezuko had been able to interact with her brother from day 1 of being a demon so exposure to him also helped with the memories.
like all demons, like Rui to be exact, she probably starts to forget her human memories as time passes by (ehem s2..) or I could be wrong. or it may also be just the effect of Urokodaki's hypnotizing on Nezuko.
@@jadeyoon5787 most likely, they tend to forget since they're immortal. If there's no danger of demon slayers, the days for them are just the same over and over.
21:14 Tanjiro and Inosuke are actually just 15 years old! Though, here's a pretty funny and ironic fact for ya- Did you know that Zenitsu is 16 years old, making him the oldest in the trio?? 👀🍵✨
We are almost to the movie, Infinite Train Edition. Be sure to watch the Infinite Train movie and then the TV version, Infinite Train version. You will be moved in a different way. From the middle of the Infinity Train, all the contents are the same as the movie. However, I recommend you to watch the TV version after watching the movie, Infinity Train.
Spoilers Answer about master. Kagaya Ubuyashiki is a descendant of the Demon King, Kibutsuji Muzan. The reason he is blind is that a curse is slowly taking away his life. The Ubuyashiki family is inflicted with this curse as they are the ones who birthed the very first demon. Therefore, every male member of the family gets this curse which will not allow them to live longer than 30 years. This curse is the reason why Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, is blind.
Not sure about that, since he also think and talk while he sleep, so I think he just turned off his self-doubt, and then got short-term memory loss when wake up? Ngl it's kinda vague imo.
I think it would make more sense that when he passes out, all negativity vanishes, which includes both his fear and self-doubt. And only his strength and capabilities remain. This allows him to focus more on the task at hand. I'm sure there is indeed muscle memory involved but it's not all there is to it. As to the reason why he can't remember things when he wakes up. Maybe he has some sort of recollection but he just doesn't believe it all and dismisses it as a dream?? I mean he never acknowledges his strength after all.
Their rank should be link this: 1. Stone hashira 2. Wind hashira 3. Serpent hashira 4. Mist hashira 5. Flame hashira 6. Water hashira 7. Love hashira 8. Sound hashira 9. Insect hashira Btw I would suggest you guys to react to the episode version of Mugen train since the first episode of that arc is not in the movie. Love the reaction btw! Keep it up!🔥
Just to add on: Tsuguko, who are younger swordsmen trained by Hashira, are basically their heirs to some extent. They receive direct training from the Hashira, which is a really big thing because of how strong and busy the Hashira are. A Hashira calling you their heir is a great honour since they're basically saying you're worth their time and worthy of succeeding them.
Idk why people are saying that you can't rank them its pretty clear if you read the manga F amazing in there own ways, you can cleay rank them like this most of them have 1.stone 2.wind 3.serpent 4.mist 5.water 6.flame 7.love 8.sound 9.insect
there is no rankings between the hashira, except they are the highest rank in the corps (and they are definitely the strongest demon slayers). I think zenitsu remembers what he had done while he was sleeping but he thinks it was just a dream. Maybe.
'Is the master blind' is the google search that made me a lot more careful with searches. Idk what I expected tbh, I ended up with a massive (albeit out of context) spoiler.
If you were to rank the hashira by strength then this would be the order Gyomei (stone hashira) Sanemi (wind hashira ) Obanai ( snake hashira) Tokito (mist hashira) Giyu (water hashira) Rengoku (flame hashira) Kanroji (love hashira) Tengen (sound hashira) Shinobu (insect hashira) This would be order based on strength.
My Hashira ranking: - Stone, wind, water, snake, mist, love, flame, sound, insect. The power gap between water, snake and mist are not that huge, but I feel ppl underestimate Giyuu a lot because of his past.
@@talhamirza2020 wym is not a debate ? Rengoku only do well against Akaza because he let him too. And marked hashira > unmarked hashira. ( Maybe except Based Gyomei and Sanemi )
Love these reactions so much. But i really hope someone took a tally of how many times times Michelle presented the Live opener reaction as a new idea 😂
4:14 (Seemed like this was confusing in the reaction, so in case people are wondering...) "Namu Amida Butsu" is a sutra from "Pure Land Buddhism." In that sect of Buddhism, it's believed that all worlds with humans in them are inherently corrupt and full of suffering and pain, so the only escape is to ascend to a higher plane--to the "Pure Land"--with the help of meditation and the Buddha Amida. The "Namu" part means essentially, "I resign myself to" and then "Amida Butsu" is the name of the Buddha. You're encouraged to repeat that sutra every time you encounter something evil or a source of pain or suffering, and then Amida will help you find peace, enlightenment, and the strength to ascend to the Pure Land after death in this world, which is why the Stone Hashira says it so often.
i don't mean to sound like a jerk but its so much fun watching you guys trying to be big brain by trying to guess and connect dots of all the different things its a lot of fun.
There’s no reason to watch the movie at this point - season 2 has everything the movie has, and more, and with better animation. A lot of people like the movie because that’s how they first experienced it.
@@smta3285 movies animation and pacing is much better than the episodes version and it gives a better picture . Watch the movie and then continue from episode 8 of season 2
I would say watch episodes 2-7 first, then circle back to episode 1. Episode 1 is a prequel to the movie (and obviously the events in episodes 2-7). But watching it as a prequel, already knowing the storyline, as opposed to a set up for unknown future events....I think it's more significant that way and the way the creators wanted us to experience the story.
@@manusaxena6691 nope Most of it is reused from the movie other than few frames and sound tracks. It is 95% exactly movie but just has episode cuts. Its better for the arc to be seen as a whole in one sitting as a movie
The rankings can vary based on the criteria. The stone hashira is the most powerful, oldest of the current hashira and probably has the most experience. And this is even though the dude is blind. The wind hashira, sanemi, is second most powerful in both mastery of the sword and his breathing technique. The serpent hashira may not have as powerful a breath style as the main 5 breaths (flame, water, wind, thunder, stone) but his sword skills are superb. Muichiro, the mist hashira is the most talented and youngest hashira, the dude is even younger than tanjirou and was able to become a hashira just months of picking up a sword. Kyojuro Rengoku, the flame hashira, had so much talent that he taught himself flame breathing when his father stopped and refused to train him. He is also respected and regarded as a very talented swordsman. Giyuu and tengen are somewhat in the middle of the pack with all things considered. Shinobu, the insect hashira is weakest in terms of physical strength but her sword skills are superb and her knowledge in medicine and toxins puts her in a unique spot. Mitsuri, the love hashira, maybe the strongest in physical raw strength but she doesn't have the same level of sword mastery. Even said that, she has her own unique breath style derived from flame breathing. The master doesn't fight but he has this ability to inspire and calm the hearts of the people around him.
4:16 He is doing en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nianfo. Which is also written on his cloth. My grandma used to do that a lot, in Chinese though. I do it (out of instinct or rather her influence) anytime/anywhere I see any Buddha statue.
firstly the stone hashira, the one thats always crying is actually blind, next ur not wrong in the sense that the master and muzan have some sort of relation but not in the way you would think oh and there's no hypnosis involved dont worry 😂😂
The master never knew who lady tamayo was or that she even existed till tanjiro met her. After tanjiro met her, his crow reported the info back to the master
About who is the strongest Hashira, there's never be official statement of who was the strongest, but if you watched the manga, at least we can guess the top 3.. (SPOILER) But the official fan book had the rank of who is the strongest to the weakest in arm wrestling, and the ranks are: 1st, Himejima Gyoumei the Stone Hashira 2nd, Uzui Tengen the Sound Hashira 3rd to 6th (or all the 3rds) were interchangeable (because they were on the same level/draw) between Rengoku Kyoujuro the Flame Hashira, Tomioka Giyuu the Water Hashira, Shinazugawa Sanemi the Wind Hashira and Kanroji Mitsuri the Love Hashira 7th (or 4th), Tokito Muichirou the Mist Hashira 8th (or 5th), Iguro Obanai the Snake Hashira 9th (or 6th), Kochou Shinobu the Insect Hashira BUT, this rank almost didn't mean anything in the real fight. And there is an official rank in the same fan book about who is the fastest runner Hashira and the ranks from the fastest are: 1st, Uzui Tengen the Sound Hashira 2nd, Shinazugawa Sanemi the Wind Hashira 3rd, Himejima Gyoumei the Stone Hashira 4th, Kochou Shinobu the Insect Hashira 5th, Rengoku Kyoujuro the Flame Hashira 6th, Tomioka Giyuu the Water Hashira 7th, Iguro Obanai the Snake Hashira 8th, Tokito Muichirou the Mist Hashira 9th, Kanroji Mitsuri the Love Hashira
The stone hashira is the strongest 2 sanami / giyu they are sort of portrayed rivals so 3 obanai - snake 4 muchiru - mist 5 rengoku - flame Shinobu is the weakest in strength and fighting but she fights using poison so..
Theres an alternative to the movie and that is season 2, because at the start of season 2 they have an exclusive rengoku episode and the movie cut up into episodes
16:00 it's not like he doesn't remember it at all. It's just that he doesn't want to acknowledge that side of him. So the memories are kinda half-dream state to him.
Please don't look up the Hashira rankings, as there are always massive spoilers associated with them, and they're all debatable anyways. There are a few confirmed ones, such as who is the absolute strongest, but spoilers.
some of the times zenitsu passed out he was aware. the spider fight he was because he was laying concious and was aware he had been posioned and actively tried to slow it down
Fun fact: the wind Hashira’s blood is special and demons are attracted to it more so than normal people, so this “test” was particularly hard to Nezuko. Goes to show her will to not attack humans
I really love you guys, you're both so cute. 😆 When it comes to whether you should watch the movie or the whole of season 2, I think watching the whole of season 2 works better for your reaction format. Since you watch multiple episodes in one sitting, the momentum of the first cour of season 2 won't be that slow. Maybe make the movie a Patreon exclusive. This is just a suggestion though!
Oh guys I hope you see this. The mugen train arc and the movie is the same with only few scenes that have a bit of extra words. So mugen train arc(season 2) and the movie are basically the same. I'm sure I've heard you saying you were gonna put the movie on patreon and S2 on TH-cam .idk I couldve misheard
The ranking is so different because there are nothing you can base on other than the fights with different demons. But i would rank it as; 1-Stone(for sure) 2-Wind 3-Mist 4-Flame 5-Serpent 6-Water 7-Sound 8-Love 9-Insect
A quick fun fact! Love breathing derives from flame breathing and Mitsuri(Love Hashira) knows how to use Flame breathing since Rengoku(Flame Hashira) taught her flame breathing which Mitsuri adjusted to fit her fighting style thus Love Breathing was born! which Mitsuri is the only one who knows and can use.
Great reaction as always, you guys! 💯Oh, and you don't have to wait that long to see the hashiras in action. Ron mentioned the Flame hashira (Rengoku), the one with orange and red hair as well as the Sound hashira (Uzui), the flashy one with red dots and two swords. You'll be seeing them both in action in season 2, Rengoku in part 1: Mugen Train Arc (season 2 eps 1-7), and Uzui in part 2: Entertainment District Arc (season 2 eps 8 onwards). And in season 3, we'll be seeing more of the Love hashira (Mitsuri), the girl with pink and green hair, together with the Mist hashira (Muichiro), the forgetful young boy who's always spacing out. Looking forward to a lot more reactions from you two. Love you both so much!
***not a spoiler*** I forget which ending cut scene thing what I’m about to say takes place in but they rank the hashiras physical strength w an arm wrestling match. Gyoumei (blind stone pillar) is physically the strongest then if I remember correctly Mitsuri, Tengen, Giyu, and the wind Hashira (I always forget his name, my b) can basically all fight for second since they’re even in strength.
The only official Hashira ranking in the manga was based off pure arm strength. From strongest to weakest its: Himejima (stone) Uzui (Sound) Rengoku (Flame) Shinazugawa (Wind) Tomioka (Water) Kanroji (Love) Tokitou (Mist) Iguro (Snake) Kouchou (Insect) The mangaka also mentioned that everyone from Rengoku to Tokitou are interchangeable in terms of arm strength.
Tbh, I really wish Nezuko had ripped a piece of her kimono off and wrapped Shinazugawa's bleeding arm with it then patted his head like he's her little brother. XD
for rankings strongest to weakest "in my opinion" 1. stone hashira 2. flame hashira 3. wind and water hashira tied since they are pretty even in all aspects 4. mist hashira 5. snake hashira 6. sound hashira 7. love hashira and 8 insect hashira
I respect everyone opinion, but can I suggest to everyone to read the manga in DETAILS first? At least to measure Giyuu-san and Rengoku-san based on their fights with Akaza alone. From the manga, base form Giyuu-san is stronger than Rengoku-san. Why? Because of Akaza's rank of attacks. In the manga, the SOURCE of all canons, Akaza at least used 5 form attacks called the variation of Destructive Death when battling Giyuu-san. 1st: Compas Needle (the weakest),2nd: Disorder, 3rd: Leg Type (3 types) 4th: Annihilation & 5th: Final Form Silver Blue Chaotic Afterglow. Rengoku could only blocked Compass Needle, the weakest attack, where Disorder wrecked his left eye and Annihilation.. Well.. 'annihilated' him.. Giyuu-san in HIS BASE FORM could block Compass Needle & Disorder with ease, he could block Leg Type (1st style) too, but then it multiples (2nd style) and threw him back, but he still come back rather unscathed. Then he GOT HIS MARK and could duelled Akaza in all his attack, even the Final Form (Tanjiro was blacken out here because remembering Transparent World and then really passed out too).. Please I love and respect Rengoku-san so much, don't get me wrong, and yes the movie made us biased toward him.. But don't forget the details in manga, ok? (and for all the trollers of Giyuu-san out there somewhere, read the manga in details first, if you please!) The rank of Hashira's overall strength in my opinion? 1st, Himejima-san (of course) 2nd, Sanemi 3rd, Giyuu-san and Iguro-san (yes tied, remember, Iguro-san was still 'fresh' and unscathed when battled Muzan while everyone already wrecked and bleeding from their previous battle) 4th, Muichirou-kun 5th, Tengen-sama and Rengoku-san (yes, tied) 6th, Mitsuri-chan 7th, Shinobu-san
Stone Wind Serpent Mist Water Flame Love Sound Insect But honestly the only thing thats for sure is that Gyoume and Sanemi (Stone & Wind) are stongest. All the other ones you can make an argument to move 1 up or down. But this is how a would place them. And before people think im tryna fanboy on someone, my favorite hashira is STILL that boy Tengen.
Fun fact about Zenitsu that a lot of people don't really notice. When he passes out and goes completely beast mode, he's literally asleep. The thing is, Zenitsu knows he's a coward and he's not happy about it. He has a dream that he wants to be a really strong person and help out a lot of people. So whenever he falls asleep, he basically starts sleep walking and he lives out that one dream which is where that badass side of him comes from. So in other words, Zenitsu gets his power when he's dreaming.
My personal raking of the hashiras of strength 1. Gyomei Himejima (Srone Hashira) 2. Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Hashira) 3. Giyu Tomokia (Water Hashira) 4. Obanai Iguro (Serpent Hsshira) 5. Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira) 6. Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira) 7. Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Hashira) 8. Tengen Uzui (Sound Hashira) 9. Shinobu Kocho (Insect Hashira) Fun fact: the Mist Hashira is only 14 years old (younger than Tanjiro) and it took him only two months to become hashira, and personally he would been ranked higher if it wasn't for his age. Sorry if this is a spoiler but the guy from final selection Genya is actually the younger brother of the wind hashira.
Lmao are we the only ones who didn't realize that Master was blind 😅 We also didn't realize the Stone Hashira was blind too!! 😂
Yes… Yes you are🥲

@UC5fgXQc9noGQNqt3cTnXUlw
I agree, at least Giyuu-san is stronger than Rengoku-san, even in the base form.. (SPOILER)
If you read the manga, Akaza vs Rengoku-san only consists of one chapter.
@@dygoldenflower1129 no rengoku>giyuu base form but if we talking about giyuu with the mark then he will win but not easily of course
You saw the master in a scene where he said that more of "his children" had been born. That's when everyone finished the selection and picked their stones for their blade.
And when he told two hashiras to go to the mountain
Honestly, I don't like ranking the hashira's. Strongest or weakest, for me they're all amazing in their own ways. I just know that Gyomei, the stone hashira is the strongest. I agree to that since I'm already done reading the manga. They're all amazing, they're all strong in their own ways and I wish the author give other hashira's an arc just like rengoku and uzui together with the trio and nezuko.
Agree! Not long ago I found a lot of comments trolling Giyuu-san, said he was so weak compared to Rengoku-san, (SPOILER)
just based on their fights with Akaza...
I finished the manga too and would have to disagree, he would be second and a contender for first against Iguro.
@@coco-sh2ny agreed, I'm basing it completely off the final sequence of events so I may be biased towards Gyomei in that sense.

Stone hashira's "Namu Amida Butsu" is a kind of praying in Buddhism. It means ‘Hail to Amitābha Buddha’ to gain rebirth into the Pure Land after death.
That's also what's written on his costume: 南無阿弥陀仏

Tanjiro is currently 15 years old
Also, the stone hashira is always crying because he's just really emotional
Tanjiro would remember Muzan scent, even if he changed form, and would even know if he is a demon because Tanjiro recognizes the scent of demons.
It’s actually literally amazing how Nezuko refused Sanemi’s blood because he’s a *merechi* which is like, *the most* irresistible blood to a demon I’m serious. It just shows how much stronger her will is
oh yeah this is good spoilery point
I’ve seen so many rankings for the Hashiras and they all seem the same
1. Stone
2. Wind
3. Serpent
4. Mist
5. Water
6.Flame
7. Love
8. Sound
9. Insect
Yes
yep. this is pretty much what I've seen ppl rank Hashira's except for 3 and 4. I think Muichiro is the third one and serpent below 3 *s2 anime spoiler* : Tengen also mentioned Muichiro picking up a sword and becoming a Hashira for 2 months which is ridiculously short for a guy who looks younger than the others.
idk if you're a manga reader but if you are then
*manga spoiler warning* :
muichiro is also known to be a young genius, a descendant of the creator of sun and moon breathing, solo'd an upper moon and assisted in fighting the strongest upper moon meanwhile Obanai barely fought a demon kizuki. He barely did anything when fighting UM4 too and had to be helped by Mitsuri and Yushiro. He barely had any chance when fighting Muzan too until he sacrificed himself and focused on assisting Tanjiro on fighting Muzan.
Im pretty sure rengoku is higher than serpent
@@MrOnlyElite nah, serpent is stronger Rengoku is strong dont get me wrong, and I prefer Rengoku over serpent, but he be stronger
Obanai fought muzan while he was blind and his snake told him what is happening and you tell me he isnt third strongest??
In terms of where we've seen the master before, we see him after tanjiro and crew pass Final selection talking about getting more children (demon slayers), like episode 5 i think and when he sends Shinobu and Giyu to spider mountain, in episode 15. We don't actually see his face until ep 22 tho, but we've heard him speak before then.
Just some other things,
Tanjiro and Inosuke are 15
Nezuko is 14
Zenitsu is 16.
The ranking of hashira is largely subjective and you can make an argument for various arrangements apart from number 1 and it would hold up in my opinion. Each one has different feats and excel at different things. For example, Shinobu can't decapitate demons, as stated by herself and that one demon she killed, and thus is considered the 'weakest,' but she is incredibly smart and agile, being able to make poisons and antidotes easily and being able to jump from tree to tree quickly while in the spider mountain.
fun fact: Shinazugawa was surprised when Nezuko turned away, because his blood is a rare type where demons really wants it
Zenitsu actually does remember his actions but he tend to purposely forget about it. He doesn't give himself enough credit.
It's kinda hard to rank all of them but as for who is the strongest, it's definitely the stone Hashira, Himejima Gyomei
YESS. Everyone always makes their own lists but tbh once you get past number 3 it can really go any direction. Once you get past Stone-Mist-Wind its a free for all on whos actually stronger.
@@kevincroft5246 Rengoku would be 4th

they say at the end of this episode that he is the 97th master/leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, so there have been many masters/leaders before him and it is just passed down in the family to the male heir that is how they are chosen.

Yes, skip the movie. The episodes have everything in the movie and more, and better animation/effects.
They are the same thing :v but the series have more content to it
Minor Spoiler ahead:
Nezuko turning her head in disgust, is even more impressive because the wind Hashira has Marechi (special blood). His blood is especially intoxicating for demons. So the the fact the she resisted biting him is super impressive. Hence why the master is 100% sure Nezuko will never intentionally hurt a human being.
Well she almost did in s2

Sanemi's blood is super rare
Even rarer than Average marechi
That makes Nezuko's restraint ultra impressive
Even though there isn't an absolute ranking of Hashira's/Pilar's power (not talking about arm strength), we can have one, based on a lot of opinions that I've seen, plus information that is in the manga.
1.- Gyomei Himejima (Stone Hashira)
He is, in words of all the other hashiras, the most powerful, he's the number one without any doubt.
2.- Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Hashira)
I've seen that most of the people gave him this second place, which I think it's pretty accurate based on his strength, battle IQ and skills.
Now, from here, the ranking positions are difficult to set, and, a lot of times it depends on the person who made the ranking. So we'll make interchangeable positions.
3.- Obanai Iguro (Serpent Hashira)
4.- Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira)
5.- Giyu Tomioka (Water Hashira)
These three are normally put in this 3-5 positions, but as I said, some people put Giyu 3rd, and Obanai 5th, so it's variable, personally I'm not sure how to place them lmao.
6.- Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira)
7.- Tengen Uzui (Sound Hashira)
8.- Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Hashira)
Again, in these 3 positions we usually see these Hashira, personally, I think Mitsuri and Tengen are more powerful than some people think, but still it's variable and I can see why you would put Rengoku at 6th or even 5th position.
9.- Shinobu Kocho (Insect Hashira)
She's the weakest since we saw in the beginning that she wasn't able to chop off a demon's head, but, still, she's really powerful, fast and probably one of the smartest Hashira.
So, defined positions we only have 3, the 1st, 2nd, and 9th, but you can make a general idea of each one power.
Hope this was helpful to you:)

In terms of what?
@@neroblack9116 spoilers
what do you mean in terms of what.

Not sure about that, since he also think and talk while he sleep, so I think he just turned off his self-doubt, and then got short-term memory loss when wake up? Ngl it's kinda vague imo.
It’s a lot more than muscle memory
I think it would make more sense that when he passes out, all negativity vanishes, which includes both his fear and self-doubt. And only his strength and capabilities remain. This allows him to focus more on the task at hand. I'm sure there is indeed muscle memory involved but it's not all there is to it. As to the reason why he can't remember things when he wakes up. Maybe he has some sort of recollection but he just doesn't believe it all and dismisses it as a dream?? I mean he never acknowledges his strength after all.

1st, Himejima Gyoumei the Stone Hashira
2nd, Uzui Tengen the Sound Hashira
3rd to 6th (or all the 3rds) were interchangeable (because they were on the same level/draw) between Rengoku Kyoujuro the Flame Hashira, Tomioka Giyuu the Water Hashira, Shinazugawa Sanemi the Wind Hashira and Kanroji Mitsuri the Love Hashira
7th (or 4th), Tokito Muichirou the Mist Hashira
8th (or 5th), Iguro Obanai the Snake Hashira
9th (or 6th), Kochou Shinobu the Insect Hashira
BUT, this rank almost didn't mean anything in the real fight.
And there is an official rank in the same fan book about who is the fastest runner Hashira and the ranks from the fastest are:
1st, Uzui Tengen the Sound Hashira
2nd, Shinazugawa Sanemi the Wind Hashira
3rd, Himejima Gyoumei the Stone Hashira
4th, Kochou Shinobu the Insect Hashira
5th, Rengoku Kyoujuro the Flame Hashira
6th, Tomioka Giyuu the Water Hashira
7th, Iguro Obanai the Snake Hashira
8th, Tokito Muichirou the Mist Hashira
9th, Kanroji Mitsuri the Love Hashira
I’m pretty sure “fastest” has to do with running speed specifically. I think Shinobu’s the fastest in terms of attacking.
@@quegs Yes, thank you, I forgot to add 'running'
The stone hashira is the strongest
2 sanami / giyu they are sort of portrayed rivals so
3 obanai - snake
4 muchiru - mist
5 rengoku - flame
Shinobu is the weakest in strength and fighting but she fights using poison so..
Theres an alternative to the movie and that is season 2, because at the start of season 2 they have an exclusive rengoku episode and the movie cut up into episodes
16:00 it's not like he doesn't remember it at all. It's just that he doesn't want to acknowledge that side of him. So the memories are kinda half-dream state to him.
muzan controls people with fear. the master is genuinly loved by the people who follow him.
Please don't look up the Hashira rankings, as there are always massive spoilers associated with them, and they're all debatable anyways. There are a few confirmed ones, such as who is the absolute strongest, but spoilers.
Most people agree that Stone is the strongest.
My my, now you two uploading 1 video a day, thank for that, what an bautiful day it is

some of the times zenitsu passed out he was aware. the spider fight he was because he was laying concious and was aware he had been posioned and actively tried to slow it down
Fun fact: the wind Hashira’s blood is special and demons are attracted to it more so than normal people, so this “test” was particularly hard to Nezuko. Goes to show her will to not attack humans
so far i’m enjoyed watching demon slayer and i’m starting on s2 on Crunchyroll
I really love you guys, you're both so cute. 😆
When it comes to whether you should watch the movie or the whole of season 2, I think watching the whole of season 2 works better for your reaction format. Since you watch multiple episodes in one sitting, the momentum of the first cour of season 2 won't be that slow. Maybe make the movie a Patreon exclusive. This is just a suggestion though!
Btw the hashira who is always crying is blind too and he’s the only one using axes instead of swords
Eyooo my favorite reactors back at it! Keep up the good work! #beenheresincecrows
Btw pls dont forget to watch movie before season 2, the movie is connected w story and it starts with season 1 end and ends with season 2 start
The more watch these reactions the more I think shawdy aint ever watch demon slayer b4 dis
You saw the master in a scene where he sent Giyu and Shinobu to the spider mountain
I swear Michelle has said that they should react to the OST by Lisa four times now and Ron's just been nodding every time it's brought back up😂
The ranking is so different because there are nothing you can base on other than the fights with different demons. But i would rank it as;
1-Stone(for sure)
2-Wind
3-Mist
4-Flame
5-Serpent
6-Water
7-Sound
8-Love
9-Insect
A quick fun fact! Love breathing derives from flame breathing and Mitsuri(Love Hashira) knows how to use Flame breathing since Rengoku(Flame Hashira) taught her flame breathing which Mitsuri adjusted to fit her fighting style thus Love Breathing was born! which Mitsuri is the only one who knows and can use.
thats a spoiler
Guys you must pay attention to tanjiro’s scars…. They are always changing
DS wants you to watch more More MORE and MOREEEEEEEE 🤩
The movie was turned into the first half of season 2
***not a spoiler*** I forget which ending cut scene thing what I’m about to say takes place in but they rank the hashiras physical strength w an arm wrestling match. Gyoumei (blind stone pillar) is physically the strongest then if I remember correctly Mitsuri, Tengen, Giyu, and the wind Hashira (I always forget his name, my b) can basically all fight for second since they’re even in strength.
Supposedly Tengen is 2nd & Rengoku 3 when it comes to actual strength. Which would actually make sense.
This list is from strongest to weakest from top to bottom
Gyomei Himejima - Stone Hashira
Sanemi Shinazugawa - Wind Hashira
Giyu Tomioka - Water Hashira
Muichiro Tokito - Mist Hashira
Obanai Iguro - Serpent Hashira
Mitsuri Kanroji - Love Hashira
Rengoku Kyojuro - Flame Hashira
Tengen Uzui - Sound Hashira
Shinobu Kocho - Butterfly Hashira
Yea…
The only official Hashira ranking in the manga was based off pure arm strength. From strongest to weakest its:
Himejima (stone)
Uzui (Sound)
Rengoku (Flame)
Shinazugawa (Wind)
Tomioka (Water)
Kanroji (Love)
Tokitou (Mist)
Iguro (Snake)
Kouchou (Insect)
The mangaka also mentioned that everyone from Rengoku to Tokitou are interchangeable in terms of arm strength.
Tbh, I really wish Nezuko had ripped a piece of her kimono off and wrapped Shinazugawa's bleeding arm with it then patted his head like he's her little brother. XD
i love watching your videos they’re cool
for rankings strongest to weakest "in my opinion" 1. stone hashira 2. flame hashira 3. wind and water hashira tied since they are pretty even in all aspects 4. mist hashira 5. snake hashira 6. sound hashira 7. love hashira and 8 insect hashira
Flame Hasira is not 2nd strongest and sanemi is stronger then giyu mist and snake should be above water but everything else is fine
also i feel like doing flame should be 6th or 5th
(and for all the trollers of Giyuu-san out there somewhere, read the manga in details first, if you please!)
The rank of Hashira's overall strength in my opinion?
1st, Himejima-san (of course)
2nd, Sanemi
3rd, Giyuu-san and Iguro-san (yes tied, remember, Iguro-san was still 'fresh' and unscathed when battled Muzan while everyone already wrecked and bleeding from their previous battle)
4th, Muichirou-kun
5th, Tengen-sama and Rengoku-san (yes, tied)
6th, Mitsuri-chan
7th, Shinobu-san
Stone
Wind
Serpent
Mist
Water
Flame
Love
Sound
Insect
But honestly the only thing thats for sure is that Gyoume and Sanemi (Stone & Wind) are stongest.
My personal raking of the hashiras of strength
1. Gyomei Himejima (Srone Hashira)
2. Sanemi Shinazugawa (Wind Hashira)
3. Giyu Tomokia (Water Hashira)
4. Obanai Iguro (Serpent Hsshira)
5. Muichiro Tokito (Mist Hashira)
6. Mitsuri Kanroji (Love Hashira)
7. Kyojuro Rengoku (Flame Hashira)
8. Tengen Uzui (Sound Hashira)
9. Shinobu Kocho (Insect Hashira)
Fun fact: the Mist Hashira is only 14 years old (younger than Tanjiro) and it took him only two months to become hashira, and personally he would been ranked higher if it wasn't for his age.
Sorry if this is a spoiler but the guy from final selection Genya is actually the younger brother of the wind hashira.
