Please show us the final product when you have a chance! Cant wait to see how the bike turned out. Congrats on the rebuild, looks sparkling clean and probably functions just the same!! Thanks again!!
I don’t know whether this will be picked up after such a long time has passed, however, always worth a go! Do you have information about who you sent the engine casings to be cleaned and repaired/restored, and also who did the cylinder head etc.. for you? I am about to begin a full restoration of a 1975 400F and getting the engine refurbished and restored to pristine condition as yours was, is something I will be aiming for, any information would be very welcome. Great series and your videos will certainly come in very handy, thank you for sharing this with us via TH-cam. All the best
Hi if you go to my Video "Honda 400 4 Restoration It lives" all my suppliers are listed at the beginning. The cleaning of the cases was done by the next door neighbour to D and M engineering who did the rebore and machining. Cheers G
Hi Colette thanks for your kind comment . The finished video is called "Honda 400 4 Restoration It lives." On the channel . Starts with how the bike was when i bought it and ends when i first fired it up . Thanks G
Gday mate, Great video helped me no end "untill" !!!???? I've rebuilt the engine and transmission, everything turns over (by hand) ok. Now when I put the clutch assembly on wont turn over via the kick start. Taken the sump of, got the engine upside down can't see anything fouling or binding, taken the kickstart assembly out numerous times, I'm at a loss. Any suggestions, "please" Regards Eddie
Hi sorry to hear that. I dont think I am going to be able to help without seeing the bike and stripping it down. The only general piece of advice is to go back to basics and re-check everything is in the right place. Sometimes it is hard to see the obvious. If it turns over without the clutch basket then it must be in that area where you have the problem.
Gasket Set. Rings, pistons and associated pins and clips, primary chain, cam chain, big and little end shells, new style cam tensioner and any other parts that show wear.
I'm using your great video to help me rebuild my engine. Can you tell me who you went to to have your crankshaft and conrods checked please? I did see a list of people you used somewhere on your videos but can't locate it now
Thanks for your help, you would be so kind to help me with the CB400F workshop manual, I am building the same engine for your video that you have on TH-cam
Too Old To Die Young just bought a basket case with the entire bike in pieces. I have been using your videos for the engine disassembly. Great work on them and thank you! Excited to see the final! 👍
