- How to remove , strip and recondition ( overhaul ) the carburetors on this classic motorcycle . The mighty 1976 HONDA CB 400 four Super Sport. Can we start the engine on this classic Honda when were finished???
My 400 has been in a friend's garage for the last 5 years or so and needs fully recomissioning so this has been really helpful. Cheers fella..
Float height not checked?
Hi, where did you get the rebuild kit from and what grease did you use on the manifolds to refit the carbs?
Where can I get a rebuild kit for a 1976 cb 400 supersport
What a nightmare the air box refit is.
I reluctantly converted to pods
thanks for this awesome video,im learning a little,i dont know much about it,but i just bought a barn find and its the same bike like yours, can you please let me know whats best 10w-40 to use to change oil and if its okey to use full syntetic on it?and whats the original spark plug to use for it thank you so much.....
Obrigado pela aula, vou usar seus ensinamentos para limpar os carburadores da minha.....
You don't need to disturb the airbox.. just remove the filter and the large oval tube that goes into the collector box .. (loosen the clamp first) - I was a motorbike courier had 3 of these that did over 500k miles in 14 years so I know!
Great bike. Good instructional video too. On my 1975 CB750 I haven't had to use clamps on any of the fuel hoses (carb connections, fuel filter or petcock.). The fuel lines all fit snug and haven't leaked a drop. I use clamps on the manifold boots obviously (engine side and airbox side.). I would've sprayed some carb cleaner and compressed air through any passageways and double-checked float heights before putting the carbs back on the bike, but it sounded great when you fired it up.
would you mind to let me know where you bought the carburetor overhaul kit ..thanks Anthony
You skiver! You never showed us how murderous it is to refit the air filter box manifold chamber , especially if the rubbers are brittle and the box has gone a bit concave!
I just did the carb rebuild and have three lines coming off the carbs. Are they all fuel lines? Do they have to be joined together?
Mine is having the carbs done now 👍
Well done lad keep up the good work
