  • In this video Captain Marc uses the SmartTroll II Speed, Depth and Temp system to find out exactly how deep his divers are going. He tests the following diver setups and provides you with actual test results, not a guess!
    The diver setups tested are.
    - Standard Diver
    - Standard Diver with Mag Ring
    - Magnum Diver with Mag Weight and Ring
    - Standard Diver with Mag Ring and added snap weight.

    great info, I had powerpro v2 30lb on and a 4 7/8" divers got me 130 ft with 360 ft of line out at 2.3 mph. I am going to get a livescope lvs62 so I can always tell without having to bounce them on the bottom to check depth at different speeds.

    Hi Marc, I guess you could increase the horizontal offset away from the boat by decreasing the diver weight. This might be helpful in the dark or when fish are spooky but not so deep. Great video.

  • @danhasson8548
    @danhasson8548 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you know what the depth would have been if you were on a setting #1 or #1.5 with the mag? as that is a common setting for people with their low diver...

    Thank you Marc, Doesn't the test data show that adding a weight to a diver increases the depth it reaches but therefore, also results is the diver not offsetting away from the boat as much as an unweighted diver? Great video.

      I do not know how far away from the boat the diver is, but I did put the mag ring on to help push that diver away from the boat

    What is the zero depth reference for the smart troll? The phone? In your boat the phone could be 8 feet from the surface.

    • @KingsLandingSportFishing
      @KingsLandingSportFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Smart troll uses a pressure sensor. It doesn’t need a zero depth reference.

    Do slide divers travel to the same depths ? Can I use the same calculations ?

    Does standard mean 107mm diameter and mag mean 124mm diameter? Thanks Marc!

    How much does the Smart Troll weigh as this will take the dipsey down more than without a Smart Troll.

      That said I’m betting it’s really close. Purpose of the video was to show the differences between diver configurations… Not so much the actual depth at 150ft on my clicker, as that will change from reel to reel as well.

      @@KingsLandingSportFishing so you really don't know that you had 150 feet of line out? That doesn't make your test results overly accurate but thanks for taking the time to show us the difference in the diver depths.

      Totally agree +/- 5% is acceptable. For those that have never checked it possible to be up to 20% off which would make a difference when trying to network information with others.
