    I ended up buying the POW weight system because of your video and because this product is made in Ontario.

    I wound up using this method a lot last year for my first year salmon fishing. I wound up going pretty heavy up to 10ozs without tangle issues on my small boat and that’s running 8-11” flashers behind the 10oz ball. I wound up catching mostly rainbows and a few cohos out deep using this method just like you said. I did get a few kings in a little closer too. Fishing WI side of Lake Michigan. Thanks for the videos

    Totally true about the disappointing dampening effect of weighted line. Great solution!

    You should make reference to Mark romanack the creater of 50 50 method and percision trolling data...hes the man

    Here’s a new one for you. I live and fish inland lakes and reservoirs in the Utah/Wyoming/Idaho/Colorado area from my Old Towne Predator 13 kayak. I have equipped it with a MinnKota 40# electric trolling motor. With throttle wide open it can do ~5 mph. I usually use it at 0.7 to 1.2 mph for trout and Kokanee salmon if I troll. Usually I drift/cast water less than 30 feet deep. I want to fish deeper than the 7 to 10 feet I am hitting. I am thinking I will let out my lure and 30 to 50 feet of line then clip on a 4 OZ clip weight to get me down in the water column where the Kokanee salmon hang out. Any cautions? Suggestions? Recommendations? My home water is the Soldier Creek side of Strawberry Reservoir near the dam. Max water depth is approximately 80 ft. I use a HumminBird Helix 5 Chirp DI GPS G3 Fish Finder so I can reasonably well locate fish/structure. Thx for any suggestions. I know we live and fish in different worlds but please help me to adapt your knowledge and skills to my small world. Best!

    Interesting. Wonder if this would be useful troll live bait in the gulf for king fish?
    So this cannot get deep like downriggers? Just a spring method? Maybe steelhead in the summer?
    Like the videos. New sub. Did you buy all those lures? Lol

    I know this is an older vid but I’ll ask anyway. So using the 7-1 math say you snap on a 8 oz weight. That’s 56 ft. Well since there’s only 50 ft between the board and the weight I assume it won’t go 56ft. In this case do you just add more line? Say a 50-75 lead? Is there a formula for getting your spoons down that deep.

      Sorry, I don’t have a formula for that… I’d probably go with 75-100 as a guess

    Hi Mark, when do you use big boards and when do you use inline boards?

    Do you find the snap weights better when fish are spooked by a downrigger ball?

    Hi Marc! Great video as usual!! Question for ya. Our salmon here in the Dakota's run down to 40' at times during the spring. What size snap weight would I need to get down to that 40' depth using spoons and shallow running plugs using your 50/50 method or would that vary on the weight I would be using? I'm running 17lbs mono. Thanks!

    Great video! I like the organization of that weight box. How much weight do you find you can use with the stern planer? Or is it similar buoyancy to the side planers..

    • @KingsLandingSportFishing
      @KingsLandingSportFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback, and I agree the POW Akita are very well organized.
      Typically my stern planner is my highest or shallowest rod so I’ve never run more than a 200 weighted steel or a 5 oz weight. That said I’m almost certain it could support a larger weight if that is what you need.

    Great video! Can you tell me
    How much weight to use if I want to troll those spoons faster like 4mph in the 20' range

    • @KingsLandingSportFishing
      @KingsLandingSportFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tough to say.. I’d probably recommend a 6 OZ weight and I’d have at least 300ft of line out. 4mph is pretty quick so you’re going to have to use trial and error but the above should get you started.

    I'm confused as to the dive chart if I'm using a crankbait,do I just go by the snap weight dive curve,and add the crankbait depth??

    • @KingsLandingSportFishing
      @KingsLandingSportFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes.,, that will give you a good idea of where your bait is with this method
