US expats who are not VETERANS are charged a lot more $ for their SRRV visa. Many are on the tourist visa who can't afford the fees for the retirement visa. Not sure why their Govt. would not want all the monthly income from those expats (?) - and - deny them the extension - if they wish to remain indefinitely on the tourist visa - for lack of funds required for the SRRV ? 🤔 Cambodia would love to have them - over 55 - on their 'retirement visa - for $290 / year -&- NO requirements ! Heidi said because of politics is what’s slowing down the age requirement from 50 to 40 to qualify for the SRRV. A foreign national possibly becoming a Mayor is what she said. A Mayor is a local politician. I was paraphrasing.
It is a great jumping off point, focal point for convenient trips to Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia etc. It is kind of like jumping on a bus back here in the West, very cheap to do. You can stay up to the maximum tourist visa period (in some cases 6 months), in all of these countries, some which are cheaper (i.e. Malaysia), than the Philippines and you will never get tired of the great food and fantastic beaches. You can be on a perpetual holiday trip, while resting up in the Philippines in between trips. The benefit is you avoid the big trip over the ditch travelling from USA to Philippines, save money and not so tiring.
Yes they do. Unlike US Military personnel, the person assisting you with an SRRV application, will request your Certificate of Service, and will apply for a determination of acceptance based on this evidence of your Australian military service. While more streamlined and quicker if former US Armed Forces member, Australia has a long association with the Philippine Armed Forces, mutual exchanges/training etc. So all good.
I understand correctly when she said : the $ 20000 deposit you can by the condo or land or house…. Because what I know in the Philippines we are not allowed to buy land or house 🏠 with land. Please can you let me know
@robertk5031 You can buy a Condo because you are not owning any land. Heidi said you can use the $20,000 US deposit for a long term lease of a piece of land, not ownership of land

Do these rules apply to Australian former military?
Yes they do. Unlike US Military personnel, the person assisting you with an SRRV application, will request your Certificate of Service, and will apply for a determination of acceptance based on this evidence of your Australian military service. While more streamlined and quicker if former US Armed Forces member, Australia has a long association with the Philippine Armed Forces, mutual exchanges/training etc. So all good.
I understand correctly when she said : the $ 20000 deposit you can by the condo or land or house…. Because what I know in the Philippines we are not allowed to buy land or house 🏠 with land. Please can you let me know
You can use it to LEASE the land and build a house, or lease both long term
@robertk5031 You can buy a Condo because you are not owning any land. Heidi said you can use the $20,000 US deposit for a long term lease of a piece of land, not ownership of land
Your Heidi looks a heck of a lot better than my Heidi
she is not my Heidi..hahaha
It will be age 40 by the time people are 50
ok
How do I do the 20,000 visa classic?
contact Heidi
Is the 13a under the PRA?
no only the SRRV
Sheesh a few weeks ago 90% of YT expats there were freaking out about being asked what their purpose in the country is. Ridiculous.
Just say you're not finished visiting and traveling in the Philippines
@@mikesphilippineretirement the only people kicked out were/ are flat out criminals. Like your friend says here, there's not even a rule change simply a reminder to immi staff to be vigilant.
Did I understand she said no online immigration for now ?
Yes you can still extend your tourist visa on line
@@lextor4712 I read their fine print. If you're over 12 mo. since last entry it's a deal breaker.
My Friend in Dumaguete has done it on line many times and has been her almost 3 years now.
Has anyone heard of a "new investor" visa called FIV? Supposedly, you invest 75k USD and then you get permanent residency. Is that true?
why would you do that just get a srrv
@mikesphilippineretirement I just want to find out if such visa exists as I couldn't yet find anything on official Philippine government websites about it.
44 in the Philippines and waiting for the age drop still...
hope it will happen soon
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting on the age requirement to change from 50 to (40) Heidi said politics is whats causing the change to be stymied.
@@davidhall3747 - Either way, I can wait a few more years. Not going anywhere, and tourist visa extensions are easy enough.
How do I get a visa. I'm 42.
tourist but SRRV not yet need to be 50
Police clearance?
FBI background check?
you can do the FBI or just use your local Police office do it
How many experts could still live in the Philippines have that big of a cut to your Social Security check?
what cut????
While rates are going to vary per case, what cost range does an agency charge for just an old duffer (no wife, over 65, no money ) who wants to get there?
tourist visa is free for the first 30 days you receive it when you arrive in the Philippines
@@mikesphilippineretirement What does the Agency charge to help with paperwork is what I was wondering
@@rogregen4419email them and ask.
@@rogregen4419 They won't tell you until they look you over and guesstimate your wallet.
How about someone who live here more than 1 year
rules are the same
You must have at least two years of active duty showing on your DD214 for the SRRV Expanded Courtesy Visa.
I think it is 100 days some people get discharged for many reason must be a honorable discharge
@mikesphilippineretirement maybe it changed. I was told 2 yrs at the PRA in Manila while they were reviewing my paperwork. That was 2 1/2 years ago
No (BCDs) Big Chicken Dinner. In other words, no Bad Conduct Discharge.
I don't see a wedding ring, is she single? 😍
hmmmm. are you married Dan
@ no I am not, never been married. let her know I’m interested lol 😂
If you are a people person, just fly to Cebu. The ladies are very easy to approach and start chatting. Night and day difference compared to the west. Once you see how wonderful the ladies are in the Philippines, you will be hooked.
I lost focus on the intellectual content.
go watch girls gone wild
Overstay=6months not late 1 or 2 months big diffefence
Please explain what you said?.
big difference just being late to extend your visa. but after six months it more like your an illegal alien and would be deported at some point
What the heck is a quailty?
not sure what your talking about
@mikesphilippineretirement your title was a bit confusing. Glad you fixed it 😊
what is this party called i cant understand her. the benifits of what ?
being part of the PRA and having a SRRV
You get to go to a pra Christmas party
yes 2 parties a year
This is exactly what I was talking about once Trump is in White House. And how your Social Security would be affected. Look very close at this proposal by Trump (H.R. 82 Social Security Fairness Act: eliminates WEP and GPO.),…. And If this goes in effect…. Your Social Security check will be cut between 33% to half of what you make now. Within six years.
Liar.
hahaha believe it when I see it
They need the money for Elon's starship
@BJ-rk1or
The election is over. Save spreading the bullshit for 4 years from now.
Heidi is beautiful
hahaha Michael
@@mikesphilippineretirement WHAT'S WITH THE HAHA (MIKE) SHE IS AND I AM NOT SUGGESTING AND NAUGHTY JUST MY FEELINGS

Last time I was in Cebu, I took two Real Estate agents to dinner. One of them looks almost identical to Heidi. Very attractive indeed.
Vietnam much better 😂
not really no long term visa
The Philippines is the best if you qualify for the SRRV. It’s hard to beat.
But if ur poor no@@davidhall3747
So, 20 grand in a Philippines bank ... in 3-5 years will turn into 10 grand. Ten grand for that visa? worth it? In my opinion, not even close.
don't do it. no one is forcing you to do that...
@mikesphilippineretirement Of corse not! I am not retarded. Hell, I can find much better use for 20 grand.
Where can I find a Morena that look like her….
