Ornstein and Smough made me laugh. It was the easiest boss I've ever seen. I defeated them in my first try WITHOUT using any healing stuff.(Also, WITHOUT CHEATING) They didn't deserve to be in souls series.
Playing Bloodborne as my first souls game and having to fight Gasgoine was by far the hardest boss for me. Being a complete noob and having to beat him to progress was heart attack inducing.
I have the weirdest time when playing bloodborne I have a super hard time with witches of hemwick and all the easy bosses but hard the hard bosses are easy for me
Yeah, beat the game several times but Gascoigne is definitely top 5 if we don't include Bloodborne's DLC. Remember how many tries it took me on my first play through!

They're both gods but the Orphan is more a Lovecraftian "more powerful than you can comprehend" type God while The Nameless King is more the Olympian "Human but with superpowers" type God.

The Damn Beast a lot to the typical player would be hitting about 25 or above. I swear, I had to get some help with this fight since my character was a tank and a heavy hitter but these guys keep on juggling me like a tennis ball.
The Damn Beast I had the +5 elite knight armor set with the fully upgraded raw Claymore, my fully upgraded grass crest shield, and my pryomancy at max with Chao fireball and fire tempest. Thanks to me putting my upgrades mainly at HP and none on the stamina and an added bonus: I had the slow roll. It was a disaster waiting to happen. This fight teach me one thing: Speed and the rolls are everything.
The Damn Beast ouch!!! I bet you got punished relentlessly by all of the bosses. I know some like Knight Artorias would mess you up badly. Want to know something funny? I didn't know that I could duel wield a weapon until I got rext in a PvP match in DS3. I just use loads of strength lol
I think it's funny when souls veterans say, "I died at least 10 times" like it's a lot. Meanwhile, I'm bashing my head against Rom for the 37th consecutive hour.
Just take your time, kill all the spiders first, then start attacking Rom. And she only has three attacks, meteor storm can be dodged by just sprinting around her, while the other two require you to just run away from her. Killing all the spiders first will take some time, but it makes whole fight pretty easy
rom fkd me up the first time. my 2nd playthrough i buffed with lightning, ignored the spiders, get to the side of him with the fewest spiders and get s few hits in. worked a lot better for me than trying to kill the spiders while dodging ice boulders.
Fermi I recently got back into dk1 remastered and I finally decided to man up and fight Kalameet who im very surprised isn’t on the list. Going to return to him after a few level ups but spent three hours trying to fight him while also trying to get his damn tail!
I tried dark souls one with a keyboard and mouse....... after about 10 minutes I uninstalled it, I have since played it on the xbox and it is much better, if not anywhere as good as ds3 in my opinion control wise. (I die more from the bad controls then to anything else).
They aren't unbeatable, but the controls with keyboard and mouse on DS1 were so bad, it was one of the worst ports to pc that I have seen and even on xbox it is pretty clunky and annoying. I never tried DS2 on pc, but DS3 has much much better controls, with full mapping ability(which makes it better in some ways then controller), but I still like using a controller more for that style of game.
TheOneYapper Haven't gotten to that point in NG+ yet but the Orphan of Kos NG+ will probably fuck you up harder than the Nameless KIng. In NG i thought Orphan was much harder personnally
I agree with orphan but there are 2 strats that can absolutely trivialize him. He's super parryable and dodging forward through his attacks goves you massive damage openings
When I faced Orphan I beat him in a few tries, I was confused as to why everyone thought he was so difficult, but then proceeded to die like 20+ times to the duo sharks.

Idk, friede and Gael aren't too bad. Midir is pretty hard tho, at least for the first try. I'd say the nameless king is harder than midir because you have to be precise with your rolls. With midir, it feels like the first phase for nameless king- if he does this move, you have to run to this place or roll at this time, etc. Otherwise, once you get used to his moveset, it's pretty easy because it's hard to mess up
I didn’t find him that hard he’s a boss that you just can’t be aggressive with you have to be smart and have patience while fighting him the only attack that is dangerous is when he runs towards you other than that I found him quite easy
Chalice dungeon bosses feel sorta misplaced on the list, since so many other soulsborne bosses could make it if you massively inflated their health pools and damage, and slashed the players health in half. That being said, no matter if they're unfairly buffed or not, they are an absolute pain in the ass to beat.

That's because it's flying firebreath attack was total bullshit. Sometimes it would fly closer to you (at random) which meant if the firebreath killed you instantly you'd have to rely on luck to win.

I hate it when you're about to kill the boss but you also dont have much health left, so you have to decide between either wait and strike at the right time or take a risk, attack now and kill the boss quickly so its over. I sadly always see myself falling for the second one and failing...
Lawrence is one of those bad bosses, which punish close range players, while being incredibly easy for long range ones. If you use bowblade, this becomes seriously easy. On the other hand it feels very cheap, but boss himself is cheap also so....

Always took Artorias on 2nd or 3rd battle. His moves are easy to anticipate still the battle has a huge pressure on you. One of the best designed fights on the soul series!
Well, it's definitely not normal for someone who played DS 3 as their first Souls game. Hell, 15 deaths as your most deaths is very impressive even for an experienced Souls player.
I think it largely depends on playstyle and which game is your first. BB was my first serious experience and Gehrman killed me about 30 times with his 3 hit scythe combo that if youre locked on and stay close, the camera goes absolutely hogwild. DS3 was next and the first 10 bosses were 2-3 attempts and done, even the Dancer which ppl overhype in my opinion
I died maybe 20 times to Nameless King my first time playing DS3 (my first souls game) but I died so many times in the high wall of Lothric my first night playing that I ragequit.
The easiest boss ever is the covetous demon, I died to the deacons because they can easily overrun you if you don't know what you're doing(which I didn't), and pinwheel could kill you too if you let him multiply while the covetous demon stayed easy no matter what, there even was a bunch of summons for him
i've died 3 times by sacrificing myself to kill aldrich (2 deaths by arrows,) and oceiros (1 by trading) for anyone wondering, yes, if you trade blows and kill a boss and die at the same time, you do still win the fight. (depending on when you died you either get the souls+ember before you respawn or after, but if it is before you can recover the souls)
I will never forget the pure rage and defeat I felt grinding against the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. In all the dark souls games, I only felt the urge to ragequit with her. Sad she isn't on the list
I beat hir first try. Must have been pure luck cuz im really bad and died possibly a hundred times to abyss watchers lol. I must have won a literal 1 out 100000 lottery as far as her moveset went for me.
+Andrew Cleary Ya his attacks are slow,but he has a big pack of moves,i found it hard to learn to dodge all these moves and predict them.Since all his attacks do A LOT of damage,its quite easy to die a lot of time due to bad predictions or bad rolls.If he was easy for you,well good for you.I definitely think he is harder than blue smelter.
+Hmolato If you come in with velstadt´s helmet on he will buff himself straight away, and honestly i find him alot easier to predict and dodge in his second phase. When he has Longsword/Greatsword combo he has such a big range of combos, but with only GS you can learn the rolling time really easy (except for that stupid fucking plunge attack, orbs hit me every time)
Idk honestly why so many ppl are having problems with nameless king. For me like 5 tries +-. Hes really easy on the dragon, a bit harded on his own. But fume knigh.. man that had to be over 4 days (like 1-2 hours a day)

Imbaseal Reflexes can be trained regardless. Even a person with good reflexes can still get wrecked by the game until they play enough to get comfortable.
There should be 2 types of rankings: In your first playthrough and with perpective. Nameless and Laurence kicked my butt the most the first time around. Heck, when I was a noob the Blood Starved Beast kicked my butt. But with perspective, I no longer find Nameless that hard and I now have a harder time with Kos & the Loran Darkbeast than any other bosses in Bloodborne. (I play low level character like 60 usually) I heard the horror stories about Midir but killed him in my fifth try. He's tough but I still have a good tell on him and it's easier if you stay near his head & dodge. DS2 is just easier overall. Since DS1 was the last game I played, I'm having a much easier time with its bosses but I haven't reached Artorias or Mannus yet. Looking forward to it! Never played Demon Souls though and I guess it will be the only Souls game I won't play because it's too far back.
I'm getting sick of hearing people say "Bloodborne isn't a souls game, it's not the same name/universe". Yes, _Bloodborne_ is a spin-off of _Dark Souls_, but _Dark Souls_ is also a spin-off of _Demon's Souls_. So many people seem to forget that _Demon's Souls_ is also its own universe, and does not tie in with the _Dark Souls_ games. But sure, let's give that game a pass because it has *SOULS* in the name! They seem to be pretty lenient when regarding _Demon's Souls_, but obnoxiously uptight about the technicalities for _Bloodborne_.
Oh wow. 6 months, and I haven't gotten responses until today. I barely even remember making this. I wish I could've done it better, since it doesn't seem to express my opinion as much as I'd want, and especially because it's getting more attention than I'd like. In case somebody will directly address my comment in the future, I never meant Bloodborne should be considered a part of the "series" of games -- just categorized with the rest as a game made by Fromsoft, which shares very similar gameplay mechanics and combat. It makes things convenient when trying to make comparisons between them all. But I'm guessing nobody will really care though, so I'll just stop here.
Pontiff Sulyvahn is said, according to his lore, to be attempting to bring about the 'age of deep waters' (probably not the exact quote). Could be a reference to the lake beyond Byrgenwerth, where Rom resides, and the associated Caryll runes, or even the depth of dreams and the powers of the cosmos. Could easily connect the games. I am by no stretch of the imagination a scholar on the series, just an admirer. If I am off base or missing information, I am happy to admit it!
I feel like you must have been trying not to include too many from Bloodborne's chalice dungeons, because Amygdala is a contender for the no.1 spot imo. Orphan of Kos didn't trouble me nearly as much as Amy did in the cursed dungeon.

The Oprhan of Kos literally took me two years to kill. To entire years of trying. I remember every single attack and could draw the walk to the boss perfectly by memory. I remember every single parry window. Every single sound effect. Every single delay. I will never be the same. I cry when i think of him.
I agree i s0ent 3 months fighting and fighting. Only to make it to the last bit of health and get hit by a floating ball of death. (Note i play a dex build)
Honestly, Manus was one of those bosses I aced my first time ever playing the game. Beat him on the first attempt, and his attacks were relatively easy for me to avoid. No clue how, because all of the footage I see of people getting smashed by Manus tells me I got incredibly lucky.
Manus took me like 6 tries just because of my obvious mistakes, like forgetting that he has different spells, and getting one shot by the shotgun attack. I totally think instead of Manus they should have slapped Soul of Cinder on the list.
I’m currently playing DS: Remastered, and I just beat Manus on the first try about a week ago, mostly by tanking (by which I mean standing there like a fool). Took me all 20 flasks at +5.
Me too, i beat him first try too. But i think i got lucky because he only did 2 dark magic attacks the whole fight and in both times i failed to dodge and almost got one shot
I suffered a counted 40 deaths on my first attempt at mannus within the span of two hours... looking back at my footage while counting the deaths was more painful than the fight itself... SO many missed openings, so many mistakes and so many chances to end him earlier wasted... however, I'm glad that I went through that kind of hell, because I'm only at the beggining of my souls journey and I feel mannus gave me a good warm up for the pain yet to come... (P.S.: I don't mind spoilers, fire away if you feel like it)
Carlos After various tries solo and with one summon, I ended up beating him with two npc summons. it gave me a lot of time to get used to his attacks and I had a +10 club with dark that still did a fair amount of damage to his hp.
Carlos I remember quitting ds2 after killing the sunnavbich with poison and toxic everything and only using the stone knight shield and infusing it with magic whilst raising it as high as I could with no human effigies because the same (insert insult here) decided let me eat everything you throw at me... But yeh difficult boss
I never played the original Dark Souls but I have played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, Dark Souls III, and Bloodborne and for me the hardest boss was Laurence, the First Vicar, when I was on NG+ 3 I beat every boss first try including Kos but Laurence always gives me a hard time, he just wrecks my face every time I face him. P.S. The Defiled Chalice was a living nightmare, and I can't really say how hard those bosses were because I only went through 3 times, twice on my own and once to help my friend get the platinum trophy and I will never step foot in them again.

@@argentskye810 No way Kalameet and Ancient Dragon are harder. I can understand Lud and Zallen, especially on higher NGs they can be pain in the ass to take Zallen down before Lud comes in (or the oposite), can be consider one of the hardest boss in the series, but A.D. is just easy when you know the patterns of the boss and Kalameet, while being hard, isn't that difficult with these openings. If you talked about Elana or Manus... i would agree. But now i highly dissagree with these 2 :P
Crisium HD I beat Orphan 2nd try. At that point in the game, after beating every level except the final boss, you should be reasonably skilled enough to know how to dodge effectively against him, especially if you're using power-ups like bolt paper, blood pellets, etc
to me the greatest boss fight in all the souls games is the Nameless King everything about it is great, the fight the cut scenes his moves,, just great
bloodyFarts 6669 it was a joke, and every boss you named I beat solo, first try. They were easy, percilla deals low damage with below moderate health, Capra demon has an exploitable, slow move set, the 4kings can be tanked and smashed if you have poise and 20 sunny D.
Glad to see someone else shares that sentiment. Blue smelter is a monster, but OMG Fume Knight is simply *not okay*. That insane health pool, combined with multiple different death combos, silly range, agressiveness, and *that insane health pool*. >.>
Advice for the Twin Princes. When phase two starts, you'll see Yoda send out a bunch of white orbs. Until they've all been depleted, don't bother attacking. Just focus on evasion. He'll use it a few times in phase 2, repeat the same technique.
@@andrewross6682 Wonder how you did it. After a few deaths, I was like "meh, not worth it". Tho, it's funny how some bosses difficulty changes from player to player. I often hear about the Lorian bros as one of the most difficult bosses from DS3 even for experienced players, while I beat them first try without summons on my second run. (A bit of trouble on the first run, tho, but far from one of the greatest challenges)
remember the two silver knight archers on the ledge in arnon londo? i killed ornstein and smaugh in 2 tries. these two asshats murdered me for two days before letting me through. the stuff of nightmares. also the high level chalice dungeons were easily the hardest bosses of the franchise.
Ive never had much of an issue with the camera in these games and locking on. It helps me concentrate and allows me to predict when, where and how to dodge
1 - Laurence (the most bullshit boss of all time) 2 - Manus (and his infiity HP in NG > 0) 3 - Amygdala (chalice dungeon) 4 - Fume Knight (best boss in DS 2) 5 - Lud and Zallen (the only boss is DS/borne series that I only beat in coop, because frigid outskirts is BULLSHITT) 6 - Artorias 7 - Ludwig 8 - Nameless King 9 - O & S (is really easy with solaire or with an INT/FTH build) 10 - Orphan Of Kos
KOS is hard, but can be parried and gives place for regenerate the health. Laurence make me want to travel to Japan and kill Miazaki in a very slow and painful way. An honorable mention is in BB the two sharks in the pit where you get the rakuyo. Without the shaman bone cheese they're fuckin nightmare!! Sister Friede from (ds3 DLC) would be something in this list too. Is just like fighting an NPC THEN a nerfed version ornstein and smough THEN dark/fire buffed Lady Maria. Make it solo is realy difficult.
Ah..I remember when I first started Dark Souls 3, every boss for me was like, "HOLY SHIT, WHAT IS THAT, WHY DOES IT TAKE SO MUCH DAMAGE!?" Now it's more like, "Two hits and it died...neat."
I completed every Dark souls, and Bloodborne I've defeated Ornstein and Smough on 3rd try I've defeated Manus on 5th try Other bosses fell after max 10-15 tries But I've never defeated Orphan of the Kos, and I don't think I'll ever will.
I have played all the games multiple times and in my opinion. 1- The Fume Knight-Ds2, he is unrelenting especially in the flawed rolling of ds2. 2- Watchdog- Bloodborne. 3- Queen Yharnam-BB. 4- Nameless King-Ds3. 5- Darklurker -Ds2 if your not leveled high enough with poise, he will destroy you. 6- Orphan of Kos-BB. 7- Manus- if your not a magic build. 8- darkparl beast-chalice dungeons BB 9- Ludwig-BB- without help its deceptively hard. 10- Lawrence of BB or Artorius.
Queen Yharnam what? Shes disgustingly easy compared to most of the bosses you have to fight to get to her, I beat her first try while the pthumerian descendant in that same dungeon took me two days.
It tended to have a laggy type roll i thought, nothing bad i love ds2 but not near as good as ds3 mechanics wise, i think. I just personally love bloodbornes step dodges they just feel so much more realistic. Final thought though, im yet to come across a game that's even as good as Dark souls 2 mechanically speaking, Witcher3 for example was great but didn't really feel like you were swinging every inch of your weapon.
That damn Artorias cost me all of my nerves. I died like 30 times or so ... With some luck I could kill Manus on first try. Very interesting, how different the experiences of all players are.
When I fought Artorias, I died so many times but the funny part is, is that after I got all of his moves down, I beat him with no armor on and just my trusty weapon and Grass Crest Shield. On my second playthrough, I beat him on my third try and tbh, it was so much fun to fight him again! Artorias will probably always be my most favorite boss in the entire Souls series.
I somehow feel sad with the nameless king so much . Most bosses in DS3 and some in ds1 made me feel sad after a bit upon killing them cos of their backstory being so sad. They're basically forced into becoming monsters and fight you cos of the mess that's made.

you are correct my friend that is rhe worse boss the damage he takes is very little and he can 1 or 2 shot you, this and the ancient dragon boss fights are hell this list is good but ill killed all these bosses with 5 less times
yeah i think he's the boss i struggled against the most in the souls series, artorias is a close second because i didn't know you could stagger him while he's powering up.
He is wayyyyyy more difficult than the blue smelter demon , he is the only boss in ds2 that i thought it was rlly difficult and took a lot of tries to beat
he's good but u gotta remember he has to compete against the bigger channels give him a year more and let's see where he goes his dark souls spin offs are really good
Fawzy AbdAllah Well they're hard for different reasons. Ornstein and Snorlax are extremely punishing- as a good boss should be. Arotorias is the same deal and has a ton of moves. Smelter (blue) just has insanely dumb and delayed attacks and the whole boss is just wonky to begin with. I died to blue smelter than any other boss in ds2- excluding the fume knight
+xMinteee Ludwig and Darklurker were both the two that were barely left off, but I just never struggled that much with Ludwig. That fight is amazing though. And sigh...I always check those cards ten times over and now I've left the Watchdog "delifed" lol
The 1st time I've beaten Artorias, I died SO much that now I know every moves by heart and I'm killing him without taking any hits at all. If you're wondering how much tries it took me, well it was around 34 tries. It was painful but now I can read him like a book.
I never understood why people considered Ornstein and Smough a difficult boss, then I did a run with the shield for fun and found that the shield makes the whole game look like easy but then against that boss it doesn't work. Therefore they consider it difficult: 90% of people are not able to dodge because they only use the shield.
I started with ds3 and basically never used a shield because rolling just seemed way better in that game. That playstyle carried over and I think O&S felt a bit underwhelming because of it.
sword and board is the intended playstyle for ds1 with all the tight corridors, but I think most players learn that dodging is better for bosses since most destroy your stamina with a shield up. I think it's just a problem of people not knowing how to separate them or going for false openings.
I used shield the whole run to o & s since that was my playstyle that i used in every boss in ds3 (except nameless king) and they absolutely wrecked me. I spent hours trying to beat them until my crystal halberd broke. I had to farm the sentinels in front of o & s and run back all the way to andre just to upgrade my gargoyle halberd to +10 before i managed to finally beat them

I am legit shocked Ludwig isn't on this list. Had way more trouble with him than anyone on this list, and I feel like I've got a similar playstyle as Demodcracy. I can get not putting him at #1 maybe, but I'm super surprised he didn't even break top ten.
+Grant Smith Ludwig was definitely one of the last few eliminated. He's easily in my top 15. I think what made me eliminate him is that even though I struggled early on, I can now usually beat him in 1-2 tries. Most of the bosses on the list are still liable to kill me 4-5+ times if I were to face them today.

I totally agree! I defeated Artorias on the second try, Smough and Ornstein after about five attempts ... but the Orphan Kos was really challenging....probably the most demanding boss I fought in Soulsborn series. It will be difficult for me to count how many times I had to approach this fight.
took me 180x and 1.5 month in ng for OoK. In ng+1 almost got him on the 1st and 4th. but ended up on the 16th, which was the first time the next day. got rest. Also I was low on health bar on ng why he 2 shot me, took forever.

+Tim van der Beek (Tim vdB3) Namless King is cake if you use dark spells and cheese him from a distance as he casually walks towards you. It's when you're a melee character that makes him entirely difficult, and I sympathize with the melee players.

Playing Bloodborne as my first souls game and having to fight Gasgoine was by far the hardest boss for me. Being a complete noob and having to beat him to progress was heart attack inducing.

The Damn Beast a lot to the typical player would be hitting about 25 or above. I swear, I had to get some help with this fight since my character was a tank and a heavy hitter but these guys keep on juggling me like a tennis ball.
I decided to solo them and yeah, I was around the 30s. I was using full Havel and had a shit time the first round.
The Damn Beast I had the +5 elite knight armor set with the fully upgraded raw Claymore, my fully upgraded grass crest shield, and my pryomancy at max with Chao fireball and fire tempest. Thanks to me putting my upgrades mainly at HP and none on the stamina and an added bonus: I had the slow roll. It was a disaster waiting to happen. This fight teach me one thing: Speed and the rolls are everything.
I didn't learn that until DS3. : (
The Damn Beast ouch!!! I bet you got punished relentlessly by all of the bosses. I know some like Knight Artorias would mess you up badly. Want to know something funny? I didn't know that I could duel wield a weapon until I got rext in a PvP match in DS3. I just use loads of strength lol

Just take your time, kill all the spiders first, then start attacking Rom. And she only has three attacks, meteor storm can be dodged by just sprinting around her, while the other two require you to just run away from her. Killing all the spiders first will take some time, but it makes whole fight pretty easy
rom fkd me up the first time. my 2nd playthrough i buffed with lightning, ignored the spiders, get to the side of him with the fewest spiders and get s few hits in. worked a lot better for me than trying to kill the spiders while dodging ice boulders.

Fermi I recently got back into dk1 remastered and I finally decided to man up and fight Kalameet who im very surprised isn’t on the list. Going to return to him after a few level ups but spent three hours trying to fight him while also trying to get his damn tail!

They aren't unbeatable, but the controls with keyboard and mouse on DS1 were so bad, it was one of the worst ports to pc that I have seen and even on xbox it is pretty clunky and annoying. I never tried DS2 on pc, but DS3 has much much better controls, with full mapping ability(which makes it better in some ways then controller), but I still like using a controller more for that style of game.

Idk, friede and Gael aren't too bad. Midir is pretty hard tho, at least for the first try. I'd say the nameless king is harder than midir because you have to be precise with your rolls. With midir, it feels like the first phase for nameless king- if he does this move, you have to run to this place or roll at this time, etc. Otherwise, once you get used to his moveset, it's pretty easy because it's hard to mess up

I didn’t find him that hard he’s a boss that you just can’t be aggressive with you have to be smart and have patience while fighting him the only attack that is dangerous is when he runs towards you other than that I found him quite easy
Chalice dungeon bosses feel sorta misplaced on the list, since so many other soulsborne bosses could make it if you massively inflated their health pools and damage, and slashed the players health in half. That being said, no matter if they're unfairly buffed or not, they are an absolute pain in the ass to beat.

Always took Artorias on 2nd or 3rd battle. His moves are easy to anticipate still the battle has a huge pressure on you. One of the best designed fights on the soul series!

Well, it's definitely not normal for someone who played DS 3 as their first Souls game. Hell, 15 deaths as your most deaths is very impressive even for an experienced Souls player.
I think it largely depends on playstyle and which game is your first. BB was my first serious experience and Gehrman killed me about 30 times with his 3 hit scythe combo that if youre locked on and stay close, the camera goes absolutely hogwild. DS3 was next and the first 10 bosses were 2-3 attempts and done, even the Dancer which ppl overhype in my opinion
I died maybe 20 times to Nameless King my first time playing DS3 (my first souls game) but I died so many times in the high wall of Lothric my first night playing that I ragequit.

The easiest boss ever is the covetous demon, I died to the deacons because they can easily overrun you if you don't know what you're doing(which I didn't), and pinwheel could kill you too if you let him multiply while the covetous demon stayed easy no matter what, there even was a bunch of summons for him

for anyone wondering, yes, if you trade blows and kill a boss and die at the same time, you do still win the fight. (depending on when you died you either get the souls+ember before you respawn or after, but if it is before you can recover the souls)
I will never forget the pure rage and defeat I felt grinding against the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. In all the dark souls games, I only felt the urge to ragequit with her. Sad she isn't on the list

When he has Longsword/Greatsword combo he has such a big range of combos, but with only GS you can learn the rolling time really easy (except for that stupid fucking plunge attack, orbs hit me every time)

Damien John Yes. That should have been expected. It's literally impossible to have a completely objective view on something like this. I don't really understand how it was elitist though, he was just sharing the 10 bosses he struggled with the most.
Imbaseal Reflexes can be trained regardless. Even a person with good reflexes can still get wrecked by the game until they play enough to get comfortable.
There should be 2 types of rankings: In your first playthrough and with perpective. Nameless and Laurence kicked my butt the most the first time around. Heck, when I was a noob the Blood Starved Beast kicked my butt. But with perspective, I no longer find Nameless that hard and I now have a harder time with Kos & the Loran Darkbeast than any other bosses in Bloodborne. (I play low level character like 60 usually)
I heard the horror stories about Midir but killed him in my fifth try. He's tough but I still have a good tell on him and it's easier if you stay near his head & dodge. DS2 is just easier overall. Since DS1 was the last game I played, I'm having a much easier time with its bosses but I haven't reached Artorias or Mannus yet. Looking forward to it!

They seem to be pretty lenient when regarding _Demon's Souls_, but obnoxiously uptight about the technicalities for _Bloodborne_.

In case somebody will directly address my comment in the future, I never meant Bloodborne should be considered a part of the "series" of games -- just categorized with the rest as a game made by Fromsoft, which shares very similar gameplay mechanics and combat. It makes things convenient when trying to make comparisons between them all.

I feel like you must have been trying not to include too many from Bloodborne's chalice dungeons, because Amygdala is a contender for the no.1 spot imo. Orphan of Kos didn't trouble me nearly as much as Amy did in the cursed dungeon.

I just beat Orphan last night and I felt like a god when I finally took him down.
The Oprhan of Kos literally took me two years to kill. To entire years of trying.
I remember every single attack and could draw the walk to the boss perfectly by memory. I remember every single parry window. Every single sound effect. Every single delay.
I will never be the same.
I cry when i think of him.
Fume knight is probably the hardest boss in the series, heck even from softs stats show a 93% loss rate.

Honestly, Manus was one of those bosses I aced my first time ever playing the game. Beat him on the first attempt, and his attacks were relatively easy for me to avoid. No clue how, because all of the footage I see of people getting smashed by Manus tells me I got incredibly lucky.
Manus took me like 6 tries just because of my obvious mistakes, like forgetting that he has different spells, and getting one shot by the shotgun attack. I totally think instead of Manus they should have slapped Soul of Cinder on the list.
I’m currently playing DS: Remastered, and I just beat Manus on the first try about a week ago, mostly by tanking (by which I mean standing there like a fool). Took me all 20 flasks at +5.
Me too, i beat him first try too. But i think i got lucky because he only did 2 dark magic attacks the whole fight and in both times i failed to dodge and almost got one shot
I suffered a counted 40 deaths on my first attempt at mannus within the span of two hours... looking back at my footage while counting the deaths was more painful than the fight itself... SO many missed openings, so many mistakes and so many chances to end him earlier wasted... however, I'm glad that I went through that kind of hell, because I'm only at the beggining of my souls journey and I feel mannus gave me a good warm up for the pain yet to come...

I remember how I tried summoning to defeat the Blue Smelter Demon and how it made the fight harder
Carlos After various tries solo and with one summon, I ended up beating him with two npc summons. it gave me a lot of time to get used to his attacks and I had a +10 club with dark that still did a fair amount of damage to his hp.
Carlos I remember quitting ds2 after killing the sunnavbich with poison and toxic everything and only using the stone knight shield and infusing it with magic whilst raising it as high as I could with no human effigies because the same (insert insult here) decided let me eat everything you throw at me...
But yeh difficult boss
Carlos being in a group makes it harder to control/manipulate boss, so he'd pull an attack you could guess.

I never played the original Dark Souls but I have played Demon's Souls, Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, Dark Souls III, and Bloodborne and for me the hardest boss was Laurence, the First Vicar, when I was on NG+ 3 I beat every boss first try including Kos but Laurence always gives me a hard time, he just wrecks my face every time I face him.
P.S. The Defiled Chalice was a living nightmare, and I can't really say how hard those bosses were because I only went through 3 times, twice on my own and once to help my friend get the platinum trophy and I will never step foot in them again.

I can understand Lud and Zallen, especially on higher NGs they can be pain in the ass to take Zallen down before Lud comes in (or the oposite), can be consider one of the hardest boss in the series, but A.D. is just easy when you know the patterns of the boss and Kalameet, while being hard, isn't that difficult with these openings. If you talked about Elana or Manus... i would agree. But now i highly dissagree with these 2 :P

I beat Orphan 2nd try. At that point in the game, after beating every level except the final boss, you should be reasonably skilled enough to know how to dodge effectively against him, especially if you're using power-ups like bolt paper, blood pellets, etc
to me the greatest boss fight in all the souls games is the Nameless King everything about it is great, the fight the cut scenes his moves,, just great
to be fair, his move set is pretty much a copy of every boss. Champion Gundry is a better boss.

bloodyFarts 6669 it was a joke, and every boss you named I beat solo, first try. They were easy, percilla deals low damage with below moderate health, Capra demon has an exploitable, slow move set, the 4kings can be tanked and smashed if you have poise and 20 sunny D.

Advice for the Twin Princes.
When phase two starts, you'll see Yoda send out a bunch of white orbs. Until they've all been depleted, don't bother attacking. Just focus on evasion.
He'll use it a few times in phase 2, repeat the same technique.

Tho, it's funny how some bosses difficulty changes from player to player. I often hear about the Lorian bros as one of the most difficult bosses from DS3 even for experienced players, while I beat them first try without summons on my second run.

remember the two silver knight archers on the ledge in arnon londo? i killed ornstein and smaugh in 2 tries. these two asshats murdered me for two days before letting me through. the stuff of nightmares. also the high level chalice dungeons were easily the hardest bosses of the franchise.

Ive never had much of an issue with the camera in these games and locking on. It helps me concentrate and allows me to predict when, where and how to dodge
1 - Laurence (the most bullshit boss of all time)
2 - Manus (and his infiity HP in NG > 0)
3 - Amygdala (chalice dungeon)
4 - Fume Knight (best boss in DS 2)
5 - Lud and Zallen (the only boss is DS/borne series that I only beat in coop, because frigid outskirts is BULLSHITT)
6 - Artorias
7 - Ludwig
8 - Nameless King
9 - O & S (is really easy with solaire or with an INT/FTH build)
10 - Orphan Of Kos

at0radius found him a fantastic boss best of the DLC but the easiest of the DLC to.
KOS is hard, but can be parried and gives place for regenerate the health. Laurence make me want to travel to Japan and kill Miazaki in a very slow and painful way.
An honorable mention is in BB the two sharks in the pit where you get the rakuyo. Without the shaman bone cheese they're fuckin nightmare!!
Sister Friede from (ds3 DLC) would be something in this list too. Is just like fighting an NPC THEN a nerfed version ornstein and smough THEN dark/fire buffed Lady Maria. Make it solo is realy difficult.

1- The Fume Knight-Ds2, he is unrelenting especially in the flawed rolling of ds2.
2- Watchdog- Bloodborne.
3- Queen Yharnam-BB.
4- Nameless King-Ds3.
5- Darklurker -Ds2 if your not leveled high enough with poise, he will destroy you.
6- Orphan of Kos-BB.
7- Manus- if your not a magic build.
8- darkparl beast-chalice dungeons BB
9- Ludwig-BB- without help its deceptively hard.
10- Lawrence of BB or Artorius.
Queen Yharnam what? Shes disgustingly easy compared to most of the bosses you have to fight to get to her, I beat her first try while the pthumerian descendant in that same dungeon took me two days.

It tended to have a laggy type roll i thought, nothing bad i love ds2 but not near as good as ds3 mechanics wise, i think. I just personally love bloodbornes step dodges they just feel so much more realistic. Final thought though, im yet to come across a game that's even as good as Dark souls 2 mechanically speaking, Witcher3 for example was great but didn't really feel like you were swinging every inch of your weapon.
Hmm, haven't messed with battle-axes much, I prefer the standard ultra greatsword myself. Sometimes even dual wielding and power stancing them.
That damn Artorias cost me all of my nerves. I died like 30 times or so ... With some luck I could kill Manus on first try. Very interesting, how different the experiences of all players are.

When I fought Artorias, I died so many times but the funny part is, is that after I got all of his moves down, I beat him with no armor on and just my trusty weapon and Grass Crest Shield. On my second playthrough, I beat him on my third try and tbh, it was so much fun to fight him again! Artorias will probably always be my most favorite boss in the entire Souls series.

I somehow feel sad with the nameless king so much . Most bosses in DS3 and some in ds1 made me feel sad after a bit upon killing them cos of their backstory being so sad. They're basically forced into becoming monsters and fight you cos of the mess that's made.
Amygdala in the chalice dungeons on Bloodborne made me hate myself. Worst boss ever.

yeah i think he's the boss i struggled against the most in the souls series, artorias is a close second because i didn't know you could stagger him while he's powering up.
He is wayyyyyy more difficult than the blue smelter demon , he is the only boss in ds2 that i thought it was rlly difficult and took a lot of tries to beat

Fawzy AbdAllah Well they're hard for different reasons. Ornstein and Snorlax are extremely punishing- as a good boss should be. Arotorias is the same deal and has a ton of moves. Smelter (blue) just has insanely dumb and delayed attacks and the whole boss is just wonky to begin with. I died to blue smelter than any other boss in ds2- excluding the fume knight

The 1st time I've beaten Artorias, I died SO much that now I know every moves by heart and I'm killing him without taking any hits at all. If you're wondering how much tries it took me, well it was around 34 tries.
It was painful but now I can read him like a book.

I never understood why people considered Ornstein and Smough a difficult boss, then I did a run with the shield for fun and found that the shield makes the whole game look like easy but then against that boss it doesn't work. Therefore they consider it difficult: 90% of people are not able to dodge because they only use the shield.
I started with ds3 and basically never used a shield because rolling just seemed way better in that game. That playstyle carried over and I think O&S felt a bit underwhelming because of it.

sword and board is the intended playstyle for ds1 with all the tight corridors, but I think most players learn that dodging is better for bosses since most destroy your stamina with a shield up. I think it's just a problem of people not knowing how to separate them or going for false openings.
I used shield the whole run to o & s since that was my playstyle that i used in every boss in ds3 (except nameless king) and they absolutely wrecked me. I spent hours trying to beat them until my crystal halberd broke. I had to farm the sentinels in front of o & s and run back all the way to andre just to upgrade my gargoyle halberd to +10 before i managed to finally beat them

I am legit shocked Ludwig isn't on this list. Had way more trouble with him than anyone on this list, and I feel like I've got a similar playstyle as Demodcracy. I can get not putting him at #1 maybe, but I'm super surprised he didn't even break top ten.
+Grant Smith Ludwig was definitely one of the last few eliminated. He's easily in my top 15. I think what made me eliminate him is that even though I struggled early on, I can now usually beat him in 1-2 tries. Most of the bosses on the list are still liable to kill me 4-5+ times if I were to face them today.
+Grant Smith the old hunter dlc was a pain in the ass as a whole...both ludwig and lady maria kicked my ass about 15 times each before winning (with 1 or 2 players company of course) and are certainly in my top 10 hardest bosses of the soul series. I totally agree! I defeated Artorias on the second try, Smough and Ornstein after about five attempts ... but the Orphan Kos was really challenging....probably the most demanding boss I fought in Soulsborn series. It will be difficult for me to count how many times I had to approach this fight.
took me 180x and 1.5 month in ng for OoK. In ng+1 almost got him on the 1st and 4th. but ended up on the 16th, which was the first time the next day. got rest. Also I was low on health bar on ng why he 2 shot me, took forever.

I was watching and thinking the reason this is so hard is cause you never locked on to a single one of them.
+8ogl actually if you try to do the defiled chailce dungeon you need a high vit otherwise the the enemies will oneshot you
this is the reason why the watchdog is hard because if you didn't have high vitality he will oneshot your ass easily even with the best fire defense armor in the game .

me too. I had luck I guess. I killed the dragon maybe just three times to get to the dragonrider but than I won. Before that I got killed maybe 20 times from his dragonhorseass. no one was there to help me :( but that makes the victory taste sweeter I guess. am I right :D

Eternal E that's probably why the Princes are on the list, if you target lock Lorian, he's a walk in the park. I'd actually put him in my top 10 easiest bosses in DS3.

Does it work on bloodborne too? Because he mentioned that #7(?) black dragon moves around a lot and it's a matter of camera, not the fight itself.
It doesn't work, I speak from experience because if you look on dear god the camera angles are so bad that you can't actually see his attacks and hitting his legs becomes near impossible

I've nearly completed my first playthrough of Dark Souls 1, I thought Artorias was really hard, died over 15 times and it made me dread Manus even more. Did it on my first go, I sat there in disbelief lol
