First time I fought pinwheel I was around level 60 and I died first try, not because of pinwheel, but because the rolly skeletons took out all my health and I had no estus and the drop into the boss room killed me. 😂
Ultima Heartless I don't understand why everyone hypes the bonewheel skeletons in DS1 so much. They've only ever killed me like 2 or 3 times, they are supremely easy to dodge, and if you have a shield with good enough stability, you can even block them head-on. They only die in one or two hits with a good weapon anyway
Gaelynn Hartmann New player troubles...Many end up going to the graveyard and getting slaughtered, running past and getting smashed and maaaybe they get down there they get raped by wheels. If not, imagine a new player encountering them for the first time, you got your basic armor, your medium shield, you walk forward and one combos you and takes 60% of your hp and speeds away behind you and then another 3 come at you. It is panic, pure fucking "OH GOD WHY".
I know he's really easy and everyone likes to make fun of him, but I actually really like pinwheel. I think he has a really cool lore and looks pretty badass.
After I read Pinwheel's lore, him being such a pushover made a lot more sense to me. Since then, killing him felt like doing it out of mercy. His origin is really fucked up.

The Twin Princes were harder I'll have to admit, that fire attack always got me. But I'll throw in another boss who you might agree with. The Blue Smelter Demon. Y'know, if Pinwheel had HP worthy of the stage of the game where you're meant to meet him, he'd actually be a serious threat. His attacks do a lot of damage, and while they're easy to dodge, his tendency to spawn clones would keep you on your toes, especially since unlike the Fools' Idol and the Crystal Sage his arena is small with NO cover at all. He wouldn't be a top-tier threat, but he'd certainly be less of a joke. I think they must have just gotten his numbers wrong or something- compared to Nito he has less than half his defence and less than a _third_ of his HP.
I think his design is great, and that he has enough potential to be hard as is. It's where you fight him that makes him that makes him easy. Should he have been in some massive arena, his clones, teleportation and spells could have actually done some work... Certainly better than the small room you ACTUALLY fight him in.
ArcaneAzmadi Yes, perhaps something like that. If you were to enter the arena with him all the way at the other side, Pinwheel would be able to spawn some clones and switch between them before you got a chance to stunlock him to death.
At what stage are you meant to meet Pinwheel though? I'm pretty sure going to him after defeating Ornstein and Smough when you're on your way to kill Nito is way too late.

And on his final form you can get invaded by up to 3 people, 4 with the dried finger.

I feel like the difficulty of soulsborne bosses is usually dictated by your playstyle. 'Easy' bosses such as Deacons and Crystal Sage are the antithesis of casters, and are much tougher if you play one.

I remember when I was new to the Souls series, I found Dragonrider to be fairly challenging for the second boss in the game. But even then I was surprised at how breezy the Covetous Demon and Prowling Mangus & Congregation were.

I feel really backwards when it comes to the bosses It takes me hours to beat bosses that people say are pretty easy but the ones people say are hard I found easy?
Happens to me to Well not often but sometimes What I really don't understand are people wo say kalameet is stronger than Manus.. I can't beat Manus without a greatshield. Kalameet with almost every build. I think its mostly impossible to rank soul bosses. Everyone experiences them differently. And after a few runs every Boss is easier than the first time. Hell i read that some killed Nameless king first or second try but pontiff killed them so often I never died to Pontiff but the fucking King killed me so often. Also is Cinder (DS3) ok/easy with a good roll. Well he can I still die 3 times in every fight with him and can't kill him with a fat roll My Point: I think it's impossible to rank Soul bosses because it depends on how good are you, what Armor do you wear, what shield and what weapon. Well a few bosses are easier than others but a complete list is in my opinion not possible
A lot of it depends on your build, DPS and weapon choices; different bosses work for different play styles. That said some bosses are genuinely more challenging than others but there are plenty that fall into the "hard for some, easy for others" category. Pinwheel should be easy for everyone and Ornstein & Smough extremely difficult for first time players, but then there's bosses like Stray Demon that some consider difficult and others consider extremely easy. There's also the fact that a lot of Souls bosses become trivial once you learn the strategy to defeat them (so much of this in Sekiro!) or their individual weaknesses; Artorias for me personally was incredibly easy after a couple of toe-dips to learn his moves, his attack patterns are super obvious and you can bait/roll/attack for the entire fight. Some people will google strats before figuring out a boss in several rounds of combat, which is fine, but it often skews the perception of actual boss difficulty.
MichaeLemon god I hated the Living Failures. Four heavy hitters lumbering around the arena with magic? My weakness. I found Orphan of Kos easier because i was good at parrying and dodging one enemy, especially a fast one, isn’t hard for me but getting a parry off on the living failures is a pain when the others keep interfering and slow attacks always screw me over because I always dodge early. Like, you can learn Kos’ patterns and react depending on what moves he’s using but the living failures far simpler patterns are harder to deal with when you have four of them overlapping.

It is a good thing if a boss is different towards your playstyle because of your build but it is another thing to make it even more difficult though depending on your build... Bosses like Demon King and Demon Princes would be hard for pyromancer because they have fire immunity (although Pyromancer have access to other pyromancies) but the fact that one boss is easy to dodge roll and another is easy to block kind of takes the fun away... I summoned NPC foe Pontiff fight because I couldn't get the parry timings right... And I thought I don't have time to learn it for now so I will get help .... Wish they had done the bosses do that they has almost same difficulty for different builds...
For me, Mergo’s Wet Nurse was the third hardest main game Bloodborne boss for me behind Gascoigne and Gehrman. I blew by Blood Starved Beat and Vicat Amelia.

Though they are admittedly easy, it should not be forgotten, that the experince highly depends on what playstile you follow, and how lazy your approach towards them (e.g. the Fool's Idol was a real pain for me as a pure, strenght-build melee on my first playthrough of Demon Souls, she was surprisingly "alive" when I fought her). I am surprised I do not see Seath here, he was one of the easiest boss for me :D
2:44 Oh, screw you. That thing gave me nightmares when I went to confront him right after ringing the bell. Actually, even when I came back to him some of his moves destroyed me in one hit, so killing him the "normal" way can be REALLY tough.
The Crystal Sage was easy but it kept you on your toes. It wasn't a boss to sleep on. I liked the 2nd version in the archives better. Playing cat and mouse in a labyrinth with other enemies and traps was fun. The first version should have had a more complicated arena.
I actually got killed by the Gaping Dragon on my first attempt, even though I went in with summons. I just got a bit greedy going for some hits while he wasn't stunned from his slam attack and he literally 1-shotted me from full HP with the triple stomp attack. Yeah, he's easy if you're careful, but if you mess up even ONCE he'll punish you for it BADLY.
In what world is Wolnir not #1? I didn't even know that Wolnir HAD attacks. The only thing that would EVER kill a player is his death fog. basically an instant kill.

ceaseless discharge wasn't meant to be killed that way. it's just another method of doing so which makes the yhorm thing kinda ironic since he was meant to be killed via the easy method and you said he can't be on the list. also i consider mages (the crystal sage) to be, yes, easy on a first playthrough, but after ng+3 he can be quite hard. his magic hits quite strong as you mentioned and his magic is fast, not slow (homing crystal soul mass, crystal soul arrow, magic sword) and you got hit almost every strike when he was not hitting hard enough to be ng+3 in the video, ironically as you were claiming he's easy to avoid. dragonrider is easy but when a boss accidently kills himself it's not really acceptable for a ranking, is it? the boss fight was suppost to knockj you off so many times you look for outside support until you notice the lever which gets rid of the fall in the boss fight, much like burning the wheel for the poison lady to stop healing in her boos fight, where she's actually unbeatable with it still running

I kid you not, today against the Crystal Sage, I had my first ever "Why do I hear Boss music" moment because I was just derping around looking for progress and then came music started playing and I outright denied him using Great Chaos Fireballs. He literally didn't even teleport or make clones. I somehow kept him in phase 1 until he was dead
I have died to pinwheel but it was new game plus 6 and i forgot to put on my grass crest shield so my stamina killed me. He got all 4 clones and every attack hit me at once
I died to pinwheel like a week ago... yeah... talking about souls-shame... Before anyone calls me a noob, I have to say that I've completed the franchise multiple times, and even managed to accomplish challenges like killing Artorias without getting hit. So, this is the thing: I was fighting pinwheel, level 50+, the Boss was like a hit away from being released of his pitifull existence, and I thought "Man, this fight sure has been sort, let's give him some space to retrieve and make things a little more interesting if that's even possible. He's pinwheel after all, what he's gonna do?" Then the bastard summoned like half a dozen of copies who obliterated me in half a second shooting fireballs from every direction, all at the same time. I don't know if anyone found before that pinwheel has a move with the potential to literally one-shot you if you don't kill him fast enough. So don't you ever underestimate the enemy, I guess.

The mobs are weaker than their normal counter parts outside of the boss fight, insight does not affect their aggression or damage. 0 insight causes them to not spawn or spawn scarcely. Insight only affects some parts of the game such as frenzy and some unique mechanics but overall, you suck.
Pinwheel overrated, I've never died to him in a normal run but when I was doing him as my first boss I died to him about 50% of the time, I will admit though I killed him at sl1 with a longsword and took no damage but meh still ceaseless discharge by far easiest boss
Pinwheel actually killed me once in NG+. I got too reckless and I just wailed on him, and then he and each of his clones hit me with a fireball, and I died.
My ideas on how to improve Pinwheel 1. His cloning splits into three complementary bosses, Fatjer who is slow but powerful using heavy melee weapons and acts as their DPS, Mother who uses magic to attack you from afar and stun you so father can get you, and Child who is faster and uses weaker dagger attacks to fight, but stays farther away because while father and mother take little damage, attacking child deals the most damage to the boss 2. For this gimmick phase 2 to actually work, give him more health And 3. Have him do some necromancy in phase 1, he is a servant of Nito, and is the boss of the Catacombs, and if I remember correctly stole some of Nito's powers, so giving him access to some semblance of the power during the fight would make sense.
He actually traps you in a dream where you think you've beaten him and are continuing the game but really you're still stuck in the Catacombs. What, you thought that awful Bed of Chaos boss fight was real? Nope, just Pinwheel fucking with you. Then he links the fire himself and becomes Pinlord of Sunlight, his true final form.
Never actually fought Pinwheel by myself, summoned paladin always did the job for me. First Pursuer in DS2 is actually pretty simple too, you just need to parry him once and then he's a practice target for a ballista.

I found the Crystal Sage surprisingly difficult to take down in NG+. I don't remember her having 3 clones to distract you in the first fight.

My Point:
I think it's impossible to rank Soul bosses because it depends on how good are you, what Armor do you wear, what shield and what weapon.
Well a few bosses are easier than others but a complete list is in my opinion not possible
A lot of it depends on your build, DPS and weapon choices; different bosses work for different play styles. That said some bosses are genuinely more challenging than others but there are plenty that fall into the "hard for some, easy for others" category. Pinwheel should be easy for everyone and Ornstein & Smough extremely difficult for first time players, but then there's bosses like Stray Demon that some consider difficult and others consider extremely easy. There's also the fact that a lot of Souls bosses become trivial once you learn the strategy to defeat them (so much of this in Sekiro!) or their individual weaknesses; Artorias for me personally was incredibly easy after a couple of toe-dips to learn his moves, his attack patterns are super obvious and you can bait/roll/attack for the entire fight. Some people will google strats before figuring out a boss in several rounds of combat, which is fine, but it often skews the perception of actual boss difficulty.
MichaeLemon god I hated the Living Failures. Four heavy hitters lumbering around the arena with magic? My weakness. I found Orphan of Kos easier because i was good at parrying and dodging one enemy, especially a fast one, isn’t hard for me but getting a parry off on the living failures is a pain when the others keep interfering and slow attacks always screw me over because I always dodge early. Like, you can learn Kos’ patterns and react depending on what moves he’s using but the living failures far simpler patterns are harder to deal with when you have four of them overlapping.
@@alexh2528 that is the aspect I hate the most about souls bosses... The build type... It is a good thing if a boss is different towards your playstyle because of your build but it is another thing to make it even more difficult though depending on your build... Bosses like Demon King and Demon Princes would be hard for pyromancer because they have fire immunity (although Pyromancer have access to other pyromancies) but the fact that one boss is easy to dodge roll and another is easy to block kind of takes the fun away... I summoned NPC foe Pontiff fight because I couldn't get the parry timings right... And I thought I don't have time to learn it for now so I will get help .... Wish they had done the bosses do that they has almost same difficulty for different builds...
For me, Mergo’s Wet Nurse was the third hardest main game Bloodborne boss for me behind Gascoigne and Gehrman. I blew by Blood Starved Beat and Vicat Amelia.

Though they are admittedly easy, it should not be forgotten, that the experince highly depends on what playstile you follow, and how lazy your approach towards them (e.g. the Fool's Idol was a real pain for me as a pure, strenght-build melee on my first playthrough of Demon Souls, she was surprisingly "alive" when I fought her). I am surprised I do not see Seath here, he was one of the easiest boss for me :D

The Crystal Sage was easy but it kept you on your toes. It wasn't a boss to sleep on. I liked the 2nd version in the archives better. Playing cat and mouse in a labyrinth with other enemies and traps was fun. The first version should have had a more complicated arena.

I beat him on my first playthrough on my first try, pretty sure I was over leveled but I was really disappointed because he has such a cool design
I actually got killed by the Gaping Dragon on my first attempt, even though I went in with summons. I just got a bit greedy going for some hits while he wasn't stunned from his slam attack and he literally 1-shotted me from full HP with the triple stomp attack. Yeah, he's easy if you're careful, but if you mess up even ONCE he'll punish you for it BADLY.

ceaseless discharge wasn't meant to be killed that way. it's just another method of doing so which makes the yhorm thing kinda ironic since he was meant to be killed via the easy method and you said he can't be on the list. also i consider mages (the crystal sage) to be, yes, easy on a first playthrough, but after ng+3 he can be quite hard. his magic hits quite strong as you mentioned and his magic is fast, not slow (homing crystal soul mass, crystal soul arrow, magic sword) and you got hit almost every strike when he was not hitting hard enough to be ng+3 in the video, ironically as you were claiming he's easy to avoid. dragonrider is easy but when a boss accidently kills himself it's not really acceptable for a ranking, is it? the boss fight was suppost to knockj you off so many times you look for outside support until you notice the lever which gets rid of the fall in the boss fight, much like burning the wheel for the poison lady to stop healing in her boos fight, where she's actually unbeatable with it still running
But if the boss doesn't manage to knock you off and falls off and dies with little effort...yeah, I'd say that counts for a list of bosses being easy

Before anyone calls me a noob, I have to say that I've completed the franchise multiple times, and even managed to accomplish challenges like killing Artorias without getting hit.
So, this is the thing: I was fighting pinwheel, level 50+, the Boss was like a hit away from being released of his pitifull existence, and I thought "Man, this fight sure has been sort, let's give him some space to retrieve and make things a little more interesting if that's even possible. He's pinwheel after all, what he's gonna do?"
Then the bastard summoned like half a dozen of copies who obliterated me in half a second shooting fireballs from every direction, all at the same time.
I don't know if anyone found before that pinwheel has a move with the potential to literally one-shot you if you don't kill him fast enough.
So don't you ever underestimate the enemy, I guess.

The mobs are weaker than their normal counter parts outside of the boss fight, insight does not affect their aggression or damage. 0 insight causes them to not spawn or spawn scarcely. Insight only affects some parts of the game such as frenzy and some unique mechanics but overall, you suck.

Pinwheel overrated, I've never died to him in a normal run but when I was doing him as my first boss I died to him about 50% of the time, I will admit though I killed him at sl1 with a longsword and took no damage but meh still ceaseless discharge by far easiest boss

Pinwheel actually killed me once in NG+. I got too reckless and I just wailed on him, and then he and each of his clones hit me with a fireball, and I died.
My ideas on how to improve Pinwheel
1. His cloning splits into three complementary bosses, Fatjer who is slow but powerful using heavy melee weapons and acts as their DPS, Mother who uses magic to attack you from afar and stun you so father can get you, and Child who is faster and uses weaker dagger attacks to fight, but stays farther away because while father and mother take little damage, attacking child deals the most damage to the boss
2. For this gimmick phase 2 to actually work, give him more health
And
3. Have him do some necromancy in phase 1, he is a servant of Nito, and is the boss of the Catacombs, and if I remember correctly stole some of Nito's powers, so giving him access to some semblance of the power during the fight would make sense.
Pinwheel is actually the hardest boss. Him dying that fast is a lie.
He actually traps you in a dream where you think you've beaten him and are continuing the game but really you're still stuck in the Catacombs. What, you thought that awful Bed of Chaos boss fight was real? Nope, just Pinwheel fucking with you. Then he links the fire himself and becomes Pinlord of Sunlight, his true final form.

First Pursuer in DS2 is actually pretty simple too, you just need to parry him once and then he's a practice target for a ballista.
